Southern rock stars LYNYRD SKYNYRD and KID ROCK have denied mounting tensions dampened their ongoing tour after they stormed the stage at a recent New York concert. The chart-topping duo - currently on their Rock and Rebels North American tour this summer (08) - took the stage at the city's Bryant Park to perform a free concert for a legion of loyal fans on breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (22Aug08). Rock sung his revamped version of the group's classic 1974 hit Sweet Home Alabama as he was joined on stage by Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant.

And the pair were quick to assure the ageless crowd they've kept the peace despite living in cramped quarters as they travel across the U.S. Rock says: "We go back like a spinal cord. We've been friends for a lot of years and have done a lot of stuff together. And I've been fortunate to learn so much from this great band and just be friends, and now we're on the road and it couldn't be better."
