GWEN STEFANI turned 40 in style on Saturday (03Oct09) with a star-studded lunchtime birthday bash at a West Hollywood Italian restaurant. The rocker/designer took over Cecconi's famous Butterfly Room for the intimate bash, which included her husband Gavin Rossdale and best pal Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman. The long afternoon party concluded when the birthday girl was surprised with a big cake decorated with candles and sparklers.
Meanwhile the spunky singer was performing in Singapore Saturday night when robbers smashed in the front door of her London mansion, the Daily Mail reports. While the thieves were unable to gain access to the top two floors of the house, where Stefani lives with her husband Gavin Rossdale and their two children, they did manage to steal jewelry from the apartment the 39-year-old singer rents to the head of the Arts Council England, Elizabeth Forgan. The break in occurred around 11:30 pm, but neighbors evidently did not notice and failed to alert cops for another 12 hours. Stefani was performing with her band No Doubt at the F1 Rocks concert in Singapore, where she was headlining along with Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas.Source
