NICKI MINAJ PRODUCER "FIRST BORN" REACTS TO THE BET BAN!! - TRUE MAGAZINE
Listen to this. BET has reportedly banned Nicki Minaj's video for "Stupid Hoe." The video, which was directed by music video legend Hype Williams, includes a flashing image of a naked Barbie doll with an expanding backside along with colorful images of cars, jungle cats and the rapper in a variety of wigs and outfits. The network would not be broadcasting the clip, but declined to offer a particular reason for banning it. We all know it may be too racy for TV.
Her Producer First Born spoke to the Futuristic Blogger of True Magazine. In my opinion, the video is not racy. It's the lyrics. Network executives are exercising caution with the Parent's council. "Stupid Hoe" is the word. We black ppl create these demeaning words that end up being mainstreamed and then gets us into trouble the minute we use it in a song. In the urban dictionary, Hoe is now translated as a skank, a woman that is too loose in the booty, a woman that focks anything with two legs or a promiscuous person like a slut.
