OZZY OSBOURNE'S WIFE SHARON WINS LIBEL DAMAGES!

OZZY OSBOURNE's wife SHARON has accepted libel damages from a British newspaper over a story about the couple's working relationship. Osbourne launched legal action against U.K. tabloid The Sun following a 2007 story which made a series of negative comments about her role in her husband's career. The 56-year-old won her case at London's High Court on Thursday (15Jan09) and accepted an undisclosed sum of money and an apology from the publication. News Group Newspapers, the company which owns The Sun, will also pay the star's legal fees.

Osbourne's solicitor, John Kelly, told the court the article in question was "entirely without foundation" and "extremely distressing, hurtful and damaging". A spokesperson for Osbourne says, "Sharon is delighted to have won her case. She would prefer not to have to take legal action against the media, but had no alternative in this case. Sharon and Ozzy are pleased that they can put this matter behind them."
