Incarcerated rapper X-RAIDED has been hospitalised in California after he was stabbed seven times by a gang of fellow inmates, according to reports. The hip-hop star - real name Anerae Brown - is serving a 31-year sentence for his part in a deadly shooting in 1992 which left one woman dead, but he has managed to release 13 albums since he was jailed. The rapper is said to have been targeted by three men armed with crude home-made weapons at Pleasant Valley State Prison in California. The trio allegedly stabbed him seven times after Brown refused to produce an album for them, according to Allhiphop.com.
A source tells the website, "They wanted him to produce and release their rap album. We're talking about inmates serving life without the possibility of parole. (They wanted) to be rap stars, and (felt) so rejected to the point of wanting to kill him in an attempt to gain some fame. It's absurd." The rapper was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno , California. His condition is currently unknown, while the men allegedly involved in the attack have reportedly been charged with attempted murder.
