Bob paved the way even for a little girl like me in Africa. I have always wanted to be in radio. From being a US licensed Pharmacist to being a broadcaster and Publicist, I got there. I was told my voice was not good for radio. Well it was. Mr Laine, Thank You for the memories. This audio is dedicated to you.

In the photo far left is his daughter in front of me Cindy Schlanger who I still maintain contact with till today on Facebook. Cindy has kept Bob's memory alive!!!

Why Were Congressional Leaders Absent at The #MLKDream50 Celebrations?

Dozens of activists, actors, boldface names, former presidents and members of the family of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. are speaking at events to mark the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

But not one leader of the House or Senate is in attendance, on stage or speaking at the event.

Other lawmakers spoke at the official commemoration in Washington on Wednesday, including Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) — the only surviving speaker from the 1963 march — and Reps. Joaquin Castro (D-Tex.) and Donna Edwards (D-Md.). Sen. Angus I. King (I-Maine) also spoke, but no Republican lawmakers delivered remarks.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the only black Republican senator, was not invited to attend,according to the Wall Street Journal.

Top congressional aides confirmed that senior leaders were invited to attend and speak but said that events elsewhere kept them away from Washington. The aides also noted that each top House and Senate leader spoke at an event July 31 at the U.S. Capitol to mark the anniversary of King’s historic speech. Instead of being in Washington on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) planned to participate in a commemoration event in Nevada and call into a black radio station in Las Vegas after a speech Wednesday afternoon by President Obama, aides said. In August 1963, Reid was a student at George Washington University and worked at night as a U.S. Capitol Police officer.

House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) had no public events scheduled Wednesday, aides said. Aides to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) did not immediately return requests for comment.

Though each of the top congressional leaders maintains a residence in Washington, D.C., the home district of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is the closest to Washington, only about 90 minutes away. Read the Rest.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards took over the streets of Brooklyn at a packed Barclays Center. Everyone came out to rep in NYC, even Lil Kim was in the house to properly rep Brooklyn. Drake rapped and Miley got raunchy, not everyone could watch live because of the Monday Morning  grind here in Nigeria as we are 5 hours ahead of New York Eastern time.

Some watched on their premium MTV Channel 130 on DSTV while others have to watch Tuesday on MTVBaseAfrica. However no matter how it went, I have the winners for you and photos including Willow and Jaden Smith, Lady Gaga who came as a lady and Miley Cyrus who is now the epitome of unladylike behaviour. 

And FINALLY! Breaking News. There were NO BLACK winners. Someone noticed.

First lady of calm, Sasha P: Musicians provide therapy with music

THE line said “Hey put your head up don’t you cry, you can make it if you try shara giri omo ekun adara” The Yoruba translation is to pull yourself up like a lions kid and it will get better. Her name is Yetunde Alabi better known as Sasha P. When I arrived from North America a year ago, I purchased a Samsung phone which was loaded with her album. This was a 2007 album which I never knew as I was not familiar with her music but I definitely listened to this album 3 times daily but the track “Adara” became my favourite.

Sasha P is very captivating and all her songs are very inspiring. I learned she is a motivational speaker as well. I first saw Sasha on stage in Lagos May 2013, during the #DivasRockConcert. “Always Keep Moving” coupled with “Adara” reduces me to tears when I’m having a tough time in Nigeria. It has been a tough transition here as my father told me it will take 7 years while I estimated 5 years. Sporadic power outages introduces petrol into my garage for the generator and then mosquitoes introduce insecticide sprays banned in US and Canada. Spray that and start the gen and you have a lethal combination for my asthma which almost got deadly 4 months ago.

Living in Nigeria is very harzadous for my health here. As I complain daily, many dont even those amenities I have. One Saturday, I broke down frustrated losing blogging money with no power and the PHCN box fell of the wall on a Saturday! I became livid and emotional knowing that we were not going to have power till earliest Monday when they come and fix the problem.

I jumped in my bed, put on my MP3 player to use music to drown my frustrations when all of a sudden, I tweeted Sasha telling her that her music lifts me up when things get rough and could she call me pls? What star has time for that? In five minutes, she called me in Ibadan. She spoke to me 45 minutes and motivated me about how I felt. She also started praying for me. Excerpts of her Tweets before she called read: “You must strengthen your mind as it is a daily battle. It is well with u in Jesus name. Kemi, I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better, but I know that the Lord will meet u at every point of need. Sis may the Lord comfort you the way only HE knows how and bring u solace thru this time, call me back if u need to talk.”

I was speechless and uplifted as her twitter direct message inboxed to me was one I had to share with my readers. What kindness! What caring I got from this musician who created calm around me that day. How I wish we could all call Keith Sweat, Bobby Valentino, Miguel and even Luther Vandross and Marvin Gaye who are in heaven or even our favourite rappers and actors. Remember what MTV UK said this week? Have you tried tweeting your fave musicians, they may just respond. BREAKING; RAZ B WAS NOT IN A COMA AFTERALL. HOAX OR PR STUNT? WAS HE AWARE?

After a weekend of prayers and concern for Raz B, he is reportedly doing well, but did not have to endure a coma, says his manager Elayne Rivers. I am now hearing that he whole thing was a hoax that someone in his team made up as well as the recovery part. how did this even happen? Even Ricky, Raz B's brother was given this false info and he helped spread it for prayers. He apologized as well. I won't call his a PR stunt but it worked. I an still waiting for his first tweet since the incident. Another reason one has to be careful aggregating news and I always quote what TMZ reported. Read the story below from BET

"The comments about Raz being in a coma did not come from his official representative," Rivers told CNN. News circulated that the B2K co-founder became comatose after a minor surgery for a busted lip that he got when attempting to break up a fight at one of his shows in China. Within days he reportedly recovered.

CNN identified Toy Jones as the person who originally sent the coma and recovery story to the media. She told CNN that she was hired by the family and believed it to be true.

His brother, who goes by the name Ricky Romance, apologized for helping to spread the false story. "I was unfortunately unable to contact my brother at the time [the news broke], and then panicked," Romance told CNN. "I then alerted as many people of this information hoping to gather facts ... Since the source that gave me this information was what I thought to be legitimately reliable I didn't question, I just believed. I apologize if I seem like I jumped to conclusions, but a coma is a serious situation and it was concerning my brother, whom is my best friend as well. I sincerely apologize for the confusion I caused if that is the case."

Earlier this year, Raz B signed with a Dutch label, Kameleon Music Group, and is recording a full-length album, his first since his 2007 solo debut, FIRE.

ALEX BAND BEATEN, KIDNAPPED AND ROBBED OVER THE WEEKEND.

The lead singer of rock group The Calling was abducted, beaten and robbed after performing at a Michigan festival, the band said Monday.

Alex Band was attacked outside a store in Lapeer early Sunday, the group told The Associated Press. The Calling had performed Saturday night at a festival in the city of 8,800, about 45 miles north of Detroit.

Band had a spinal fracture, three broken teeth and needed 15 stiches in his chin, The Calling said in a statement.

Police asked the public for help in investigating. Detective Sgt. Craig Gormley said in a statement — that doesn’t name Band by name — that the victim reported two males forced him into a minivan, then assaulted and robbed him before dropping him off at a railroad crossing.

The Los Angeles-based group’s 2001 song, Wherever You Will Go, was used in several TV series and in the movie Coyote Ugly.

In its statement, The Calling said Band was visiting a mini-market after the show when “Alex was grabbed by his shirt and hit from behind.”

It said he was beaten with a baton and had a gun put to his face while an attacker demanded his “Hollywood money.”

The Calling said Band is going to be a father and told his assailants as much, to which one responded “We don’t kill fathers” before releasing him.

Band acknowledged having past substance abuse problems, but denied what he said were rumours that the abduction report was either drug-related or faked.

“I take my rehabilitation very seriously,” he said. “I was near death due to this unbelievable situation, and the rumours are categorically false.”

MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF IN OLIVIA NEWTON JOHNS HOUSE!

A man has shot himself at the Florida home of singer/actress Olivia Newton-John, according to U.S. reports.

Police were called to the Grease star's residence after it was reported that a man had killed himself with a gun.

According to Sergeant Scott Pascarella, the spokesman for the Jupiter Police Department, the deceased man is not related to John or her husband John Easterling, and does not live in the home.

The couple was not home at the time of the tragedy, but there were building contractors on site.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the house was for sale and comedienne Rosie O'Donnell was hoping to buy it

Could be one of the builders but no concrete word on that

FORMER DISNEY STAR LEE THOMPSON YOUNG DEAD AT 29 OF APPARENT SUICIDE.

Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young has died following an apparent suicide.

The Famous Jett Jackson star, 29, died from a gunshot wound, which is believed to have been self-inflicted.

His body was found in his Los Angeles apartment on Monday morning after he failed to show up for work on the set of TV drama Rizzoli & Isles.

Show bosses called his landlord to check up on the young actor and he found the star unresponsive, according to TMZ.com.

ROBIN THICKE ALSO SUES THE MARVIN GAYE FAMILY AND NOW WE HAVE A MESS?

This is the part of the music industry I dislike. Every artist need to protect their copyright and publishing. These kind of messy things happen. Meanwhile I would like to know who exactly is suing in the Gaye family as I can't forget when I was 18 when HIS FATHER SHOT him to DEATH. I am now 49. 

Collaborators Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I. have launched legal action against Marvin Gaye's family after the Motown star's relatives accused the trio of copying his work on their summer smash hit Blurred Lines.

The Gaye family and bosses at Bridgeport Music, who own the rights to George Clinton's band Funkadelic's compositions, claim that Blurred Lines bears striking similarities to Gaye's Got to Give It Up and Funkadelic's track Sexy Ways.

However, Thicke, Williams and T.I., named in the suit as Clifford Harris, Jr., have filed paperwork to protect their hit song, insisting that they have not broken any copyright but were simply evoking the funk era with the track.

In legal papers filed at California Federal Court on Thursday the trio argue that "being reminiscent of a 'sound' is not copyright infringement. The intent in producing 'Blurred Lines' was to evoke an era."

According to the suit, which was obtained by editors at The Hollywood Reporter, the trio state that they "have the utmost respect for and admiration of Marvin Gaye, Funkadelic and their musical legacies, (but) reluctantly file this action in the face of multiple adverse claims from alleged successors in interest to those artists. Defendants continue to insist that plaintiffs' massively successful composition, 'Blurred Lines,' copies 'their' compositions."

The suit further claims the Gaye family is alleging that Blurred Lines and Got to Give It Up "feel" or "sound" the same, and that the "Gaye defendants are claiming ownership of an entire genre, as opposed to a specific work."

The Gayes and executives at Bridgeport Music are said to be threatening litigation should the trio not pay a monetary settlement but rather than wait for a lawsuit to proceed, the plaintiffs are going to court to determine the parties' respective rights and obligations.

In seeking a judgment, Thicke, Williams and Harris Jr. are not only looking for a declaration that their song doesn't violate the defendants' rights by copying their songs, but also that the "Gayes do not have an interest in the copyright to the composition 'Got To Give It Up' sufficient to confer standing on them to pursue claims of infringement of that composition."

Blurred Lines has continued to dominate the U.S. charts and earlier this week the track hit its tenth consecutive week atop the top ten countdown.

CALVIN HARRIS IS THE WORLD'S HIGHEST PAID DJ AT $46 MILLION.

These days it's really more than spinning records. Many of them are even Producers and artists. DJ Khaled practically owns songs like "Im on one" with only his name called. DJ 

Calvin Harris has been crowned the world’s highest paid DJ after raking in $46 million in the past year.

Editors at Forbes magazine estimate the Scottish hitmaker earned the big bucks between August, 2012 and August, 2013, easily making him number one in their new World’s Highest Paid DJs list.

Harris, who has played over 100 live shows, averaging $195,000 per performance, credits the increasing popularity of dance music in recent years for his monumental success, adding, “I happened to be in the right place at the right time.”

Dutch star Tiesto came in second place with $32 million, while France’s David Guetta was third with $30 million.

Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5 rounded out the top five with $25 million and $21 million, respectively.

Other DJs and producers featured on the countdown include Avicii, Afrojack, Skrillex and Steve Aoki.

WHAT? PEREZ HILTON AND LADY GAGA NOW FOES BECAUSE OF ONE MADONNA SONG?

Last time I saw my friend Perez and Lady Gaga together, he was in HER BED conducting an interview. They were so tight as that was the correct word for that situation. Now comes word that they may now be foes. The Born This Way hitmaker took to the social networking site on Friday to take aim at Hilton, accusing him of mocking her when she hit a low point earlier this year.

Gaga called off a string of tour dates after undergoing a hip operation in February, and she was left needing to use a wheelchair for several weeks.

She tweeted, "Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w (with) the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident."

Gaga's post came just hours after Perez shared a video with his Twitter followers in which he criticised Gaga's new single Applause, insisting, "It's so unrelatable. This song is all about her. It's a few steps backwards, I'm really disappointed."

He also compared the track to another by Madonna, asking fans, "Does Lady Gaga's Applause sound too much like Madonna's Girl Gone Wild to you?" and again slammed Gaga by announcing her song had dropped to the number four slot on the iTunes singles chart, writing, "Woah! Lady Gaga's Applause has dropped to #4 on iTunes in America. That country singer, Luke Bryan, is beating her."

But after her loyal fans began sending vicious messages to Hilton, Gaga urged them to "ignore" him, adding, "Please monsters (fans) do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. Im ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance."

Raz B was trying to break up a fight at a niteclub where I hear he performed and received minor medical attention for a gashed lip after being smashed in the face with a bottle. Next thing you know he did not wake up and has been slipping in and out of consciousness.

He is now on LIFE SUPPORT BREATHING THRU A VENTILATOR and I urge everyone of you to put him in your prayers. The former B2K singer was embroiled in that Chris Stokes controversy back in 2004 with the rest of the group members Lil Fizz and J-Boog.

I looked on Omarion's page and I see no mention of Raz B's situation. Everyone is tight lipped. Nothing wrong in sending some prayers at a difficult time. The story is still developing.

Just bring her with you in October to Nigerian Jay. I will do the baby sitting. Nursery is ready. By the way, I love the new blonde shade on Bey. We hear her hairdresser Rita had this to say. 

"I was shocked. I think she was just feeling empowered, like a strong woman, and she said she’s been feeling it for a long time. I’m so happy because the extensions give women the wrong expectation of what their hair should look like. It’s great for onstage, but everyday women shouldn’t have or want to have five pounds of hair on their head. This hair is more natural, more realistic. My personal thought is that every woman can be blonde as long as it’s the right shade of blonde for your skin color. And Beyonce pulls it off!"

Nice talk Rita, I pulled off a few blonde wigs myself. You never know until you put that wig on, add that hair or DYE it like Beyonce did hers.

THE world woke up to a track titled “Control” and let me tell you, the last time I heard such a track name, it was lively, loud and was by Janet Jackson. This time, it was by our friend Big Sean who visited Nigeria last Christmas season to play in DBanj’s concert. The loud part got lively by another rapper who has now graduated into the big leagues, Kendrick Lamar. I missed opportunities to see this rapper while in Toronto when he was still aspiring and NXNE was on and you got just too tired to attend every single rap concert.

Kendrick Lamar was featured in the middle part of the track with Rapper Jay Electronica at the end. Hold up, twitter went crazy! Every tweet had Kendrick in it. He was trending all over the globe, Nigerians did not fully understand it. I reached out to two of the BEST hiphop sites @MTVRapFix and @HipHopWired to find out what the ruckus was about?

Hip-Hop Wired sent me the relevant links on request and I listened to the track. It was a handful! Kendrick dissed certain rappers quoting “murdering’’ them lyrically and taking their fans, he named A$AP Rocky, Drake, Pusha-T and ranted about material things, red corvettes, white shirts, even a prosthetic leg and Lindsay Lohan. It was the rappers he mentioned and didn’t mention that became the subject of twitter all day. I reached out to several rappers to hear from them and many had a lot to say. Even my son, Kay Jeezy, an aspiring 12-year-old rapper, thought it was hype. My 22-year old son, a Los Angeles Rapper and Film Director @DGHXL called it “attention Lamar needed to be relevant.” He also mentioned that Jay Electronica was his favourite rapper.

Church Chizzle, a dynamic Toronto rapper was asked if Toronto rappers were scared by Lamar mentioning Drake’s name. Chizzle told me “Not at all, Kendrick just named who he felt he’s in competition with. I will probably do the same in his position.” Rapper Ice T, a veteran rapper and actor tweeted “I’m sure there’s gonna be a lot of replies and diss tracks. Don’t trip. It’s just Hip Hop. Competition-year-old.” The American-Nigerian twin Producers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan known as Christian Rich also tweeted me that “Hip hop needed a push and Kendrick Lamar just gave it.”

Now every rapper learned how to get relevance in the game from this day of Kendrick frenzy. Lamar, who has not tweeted since July 27th while on his China and Japan tour thanking fans over there has gained even more followers on twitter and passed the two-million mark. He has however retweeted his Top Dawg Entertainment merchandise handle, a smart move to get fans shopping. He used Facebook on Wednesday to drop the song. He has not responded yet to his fans but several rappers like Joel Ortiz have been on MTVRapFix Live with Sway Calloway to talk about the hype. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE TO RECEIVE MICHAEL JACKSON POP ICON AWARD AT THE VMA'S.

The VMA's are around the corner and we just heard  some great news! Justin Timberlake is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards later this month.

The pop icon will also receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the Aug. 25 awards show, the network said Thursday. Timberlake is tied with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for the most nominations, with six each.

Timberlake's nominations include video of the year, best male video and pop video for "Mirrors." His comeback album, "The 20/20 Experience," is the year's bestselling album. He'll release "The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2" on Sept. 30.

Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke will also perform at the VMAs, to air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Oprah Winfrey says she’s “sorry” a media frenzy emerged after saying she experienced racism during a trip to Switzerland.

“I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland. I’m really sorry that it got blown up. I purposefully did not mention the name of the store. I’m sorry that I said it was Switzerland,” Winfrey said.

“I was just referencing it as an example of being in a place where people don’t expect that you would be able to be there,” she continued. Below is the original story but I don't think she's the one to be saying SORRY! Racism is unacceptable.

The Associated Press reports that Talk show host Oprah Winfrey says she encountered racism while shopping in Switzerland — and the national tourism office agrees.

The media mogul, who is one of the world's richest women, told the U.S. program "Entertainment Tonight" that a shop assistant in Zurich refused to show her a handbag because it was "too expensive" for her.

Forbes magazine estimates that Winfrey earned $77 million in the year ending in June.

A spokeswoman for the Swiss tourism office, Daniela Baer, told The Associated Press on Friday "we are very sorry for what happened to her."

The tourism office also posted an apology on Twitter, saying "this person acted terribly wrong."

Winfrey was in town to attend last month's wedding of longtime pal Tina Turner, who lives in Switzerland.

The second day of the month and the second child of Cissy Houston.

Like she never left!!

I told Akon how strong this strong that song they did affected me.

I was glad to have attended the goodbye service.

She was a true PERSONAL friend. She once told me I resembled her. I met Whitney on the set of her ex-husband's reality show "Being Bobby Brown." It was at that time that I truly saw the effect of addiction on Whitney. She and I developed a friendship that was so close that she told me everything going on with her and Bobby. We became such great friends on the set. I was the only known entertainment blogger at that time in 2004 when blogging was still evolving. My former blog was ATLCelebritynews.

On this particular day she was shooting on the set at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead, Atlanta and it was a casual set. Bobbi Kristina, her only child and even the dog was there. I have more pics but these are the only ones that came to Canada with me at the time. The last thing I told Whitney is "Look to God and never let the Devil take over." This is the LAST time I saw her as I left Atlanta.

I spoke to her a few times on the phone years later with the last time being August 2011 when I suggested to her to "retire" and be a Judge on X-factor, Idol or similar talent shows. In my opinion, she spiraled down after the 2010 Grammy nomination blow. Her comeback CD "I look to you" was SNUBBED. Whitney went back on drugs. She died as a result of the causes that drugs do.

I want to remember Whitney for the song "The Greatest Love of all." She sang..... "I believe that the children are the future" and "A song For You" which of course she TOLD ME she wrote for me. The day at the Grand Hyatt, Atlanta when we crossed the road and buy cigarettes and everyone came to us. I was covering Whitney and Bobby's reality show after a tough of morning of fights. The day I spent so much time with her. I told the Nigerian Tribune in an interview they did with me when I arrived back home.

"Another experience was meeting and making friend with late Whitney Houston. We met through my blog. I got a phone call from Bobby Brown who invited me to cover their show at Atlanta. We met, hugged and took pictures. Then at the location where we met, she was smoking cigarettes. I enjoyed my relationship with her. She was a nice person. She was real, I love her voice when she’s talking, but she was high half the time and this kept her going. though it was believed she had everything, but she was never happy. Whitney had started using drugs before meeting Bobby Brown. Unfortunately, her daughter is also into drugs. Whitney told me, I’m going to write and sing a song for you and she did. May she rest in peace and may Bobbi Kristina, Cissy and the whole family find peace in this tragedy of losing Whitney. My Pictures of Bobbi's 13th birthday party are another set of memories. Whitney invited me to this event too and that was the last time I physically saw her.

 
Last time I saw her performing was in a video at Bobby Brown's mother Carole's funeral in 2011. Carole was once her mother-in-law. I interviewed Carole in 2005 about all the drug use in the marriage to Bobby and it was aired on an Atlanta Radio station shocking everyone when Carole said that Whitney introduced her son to "white powders" referring to cocaine and heroin. Carole stated that Bobby was only into weed.

Later we heard her brother confessing to Oprah that he introduced her to the drugs meaning that Carole Brown was right. Bobby was so upset he turned away and left the funeral in another development.

I truly miss her today!! I always say Whitney's Birthday was the same as mine. I celebrate 6 and hers 9th. 6 is 9 upside down. I love you Whitney Elizabeth. Big 50th party in heaven with Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana, Gerald Levert, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Sammy Davis Jr. I wanna be at that PARTY!!

#MEDIANEWS: KENYA'S INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN A MASSIVE BLAZE.

Though the fire has been contained, it was massive this morning. Nairobi was trending on twitter when I suddenly opened my feeds to see the blaze. It was the international terminal that was affected. The damage was extensive and could potentially affect the tourism and commerce of Kenya.

The airport will be closed indefinitely, the Interior Ministry tweeted. No flights were departing or arriving, and some flights were being diverted to other airports.

Fire engines were running dangerously low on water during early stages of battling the flames, the Interior Ministry tweeted. But by Wednesday afternoon, the fire had been contained.

Nothing has been ruled out, Kenyan government spokesman Muthui Kariuki said.

Security is being ramped up at the airport, said Josef Ole Lenku, Kenya's Cabinet secretary for interior and security.

Little did dumbasses like Judy Parkin old grandma Alberta realize that I love gays and lesbians. She and Shawn McQuaid the sick troll arrested for harassing me and arrested in 2012 have been buried by the Nigerian blogs so fascinated with my every move. Their shitty blogs and their habit of building fake pages with my name along with some idiotic Nigerians whose GPS shows exactly where the pages were built.

Pages are being wiped off. I have a good record of disabling Facebook pages due to Community standards which most fools don't read.

REMEMBERING NIGERIAN MUSIC LEGEND FELA ANIKULAPO-KUTI 16 YEARS LATER.

It was a very busy morning here in Nigeria as the nation and music fans alike remembered the iconic musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti simply known as Fela.

I asked Nigerians to stop being hypocrites! I listened an entire 3 hours to the mornings shows of Splash FM, The Beat, Cool FM, Rhythm FM and all I heard were Nigerians saying they LOVED Fela cos he was outspoken, blunt and did not fear anyone.

Yet all I see here is ppl ripping me saying I'm too blunt and outspoken and all your lives are ruined in Nigeria cos u have no voice! Today there is no musical or regular voice to rip the govt other than his son Seun Anikulapo-Kuti, myself and a few others. Seun speaks out a lot for the youth and addresses issues with the Nigerian government.

You will remember Fela's mom and Seun and Femi's grandma, the mother of all activist Mrs Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was murdered by the Nigerian government and nobody has even apologized. Read my story here on the 35th anniversary of her murder.

I share a special bond with her. I will reveal it later on my 49th birthday Tuesday August 6th 2013
She was also an employee of my father when he was the Commissioner for Education in Western state of Nigeria. Mrs Kuti was appointed as the Chief of the Educational Advisory Board by my father.

In recent years there has been a revitalization of Fela's influence on music and popular culture, culminating in another re-release of his catalog controlled by Universal Music, off- and on-Broadway biopic shows, and new bands, such as Antibalas, who carry the Afrobeat banner to a new generation of listeners.

My Music colleague and Editor of MTV RapFix, Nadeska Alexis did a terrific interview with Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan, a pair of dynamic American TWIN Producers of Nigerian descent who go by the name Christian Rich. I was sitting here thinking this was one person when I discovered it was TWO until Nadeska told me on twitter!! Heard about their producing and DJíng but had no idea this was two people with all this talent. You learn something daily.

Taiwo's middle name is Christian, while Kehinde's is Rich. I love all this name suspense and read they were enlisted to help produce "Doris" Earl Sweatshirt's new album including "Chum" which is a single out of the disc that they were credited for.

Earl's Doris is due out this August 20. Christian Rich told Billboard recently that they hooked up with Earl through some Sony Music A&R's. Networking sure pays off!

I like this MTV interview. Kinda reminds me of some of the producing stories that Kanye lectured about on his "Last Call" song except for the censors as Nadeska already knows she owes me the UNCUT version lol! U can't even hear "Last call" with the censors. I'm a bad girl.

These dudes have worked with Chad Hugo and Pharrell who I interviewed in 2004, almost 10 years ago. Christian Rich is definitely one to look forward to. Our Nigerian Producers are killing it right now and we have another young lady Ebony "Wonda Gurl" Oshunrinde just 16 producing on Jay's "Holy Grail Magna Carta" album. Of course we also have the dynamic Lawrence Twins, another set of Nigerian Producers well known around the world and partners with HipHossip at Mirror Image Media. Wow what a great discovery today.
