In the closing ceremony at the Maracana Stadium, athletes who had played exciting games were smiling and shaking their body to festive rhythms. The whole stadium was united in the ceremony that featured lively, quintessentially Brazilian music and dance performances.
It was an impressive ceremony—athletes, staff, and volunteers involved in the Rio 2016 all became one beyond countries and races. Don’t you think so?
At the flag hand-over ceremony, the Olympic banner was returned from
Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes to International Olympic Committee (IOC)
president Thomas Bach, who then passed it over to Tokyo Governor Yuriko
Koike.
