Verna Griffin, mom of Rapper/Producer Dr Dre (Andre Young) to release tell all book

Allhiphop tells us that Verna Griffin - the mother of Hip-Hop producer Dr. Dre - is planning to release her memoirs, titled Long Road Outta Compton: Dr. Dre's Mom on Family, Fame and Terrible Tragedy. In the inspirational book, Griffin tells the story of her life, including the death of three of her children, two of whom died in infancy and one, Dre’s brother, who died from gangland violence.

Griffin also reveals other intimate details about her life, her failed marriages, the problems came along with being the mother of one of the most famous producers in the world. Many hip-hop mothers have started to tell us their stories with most being single moms. The late Donda West released a book 3 years ago about raising her son Kanye.

According to the New York Post, the book give a behind-the-scenes look at a number of periods in Dr. Dre‘s life, including the inception of N.W.A. and the fallout from controversial records like Straight Outta Compton and F**k The Police, which drew the wrath of the FBI in the early 1990's.
