Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE has sparked fresh fears for her health after she was photographed throwing herself to the floor and sobbing during a night out in London. The Rehab hitmaker was on her way to Stables music bar at North London's famous Proud Galleries in Camden this weekend (26-27Jul08) when the incident occurred. She was snapped crying and lashing out at her bodyguard in the early hours of Sunday (27Jul08) morning before throwing herself on the floor. She was then pictured punching a metal fence in frustration after her minder attempted to pick her up from the ground. Winehouse eventually made it to the venue but reportedly left after just 30 minutes.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "She was in a terrible state. She left by the back door and went home in tears. She had a black coat over her head and a swollen hand. She looked awful, like her world is falling apart." But the 24-year-old's father Mitch has spoken out about his daughter's recent erratic behaviour, revealing she enjoys the attention she gets from her wild antics. He says, "As a child Amy was always high maintenance. What she really likes is for people to worry about her." Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail last week (21Jul08) after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Also she deliberately cuts herself to ease the pain of drug withdrawal, according to her father MITCH.
The Back to Black hitmaker has sparked concern on several occasions after appearing in public seemingly showing signs of self-abuse - mainly cuts on her arms. And the superstar's dad has revealed that her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil believes self-harm eases the comedown from drugs. Mitch says, "(The self-harm has) more to do with Blake (Fielder-Civil). He explained to me that when they're going into (drug) withdrawal, if they cut themselves, it takes away the pain." Mitch also tells how his daughter, who is currently recording songs for a new album, uses these dark times to find inspiration for new tracks. He adds, "She only writes songs from her personal experiences, and they're all more or less painful. It's a shame. But that's the way she is.
"Amy can be creative when most other people would be checking into a hospice. When she can hardly stand up she's got her books in front of her, scribbling away." The singer, currently battling addictions to drink and drugs, has suffered a string of health problems, including a bout of infectious skin condition impetigo and traces of deadly lung disease emphysema.
