THE DAY AFTER SYNDROME: JONAS BROTHERS AIM FOR NUMBER ONE.

Pop sensations THE JONAS BROTHERS are on course to land their first U.S. number one album after scoring sales of over 200,000 in a day. The trio's A Little Bit Longer release hit record store shelves on Tuesday (12Aug08) and enjoyed a great first-day of business.

Chart experts predict the album could debut at the top of next week's (20Aug08) chart with more than 600,000 sales. The siblings are expected to challenge Coldplay for the biggest-ever sales week for a digital album title - the British rockers' Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends sold 288,000 downloads in its first week on sale earlier this year (08).

And Billboard reports the Jonas Brothers may pull off another chart feat next week if their self-titled album, which currently sits at number 11, falls back into the top 10. If they place two albums in the top 10, it'll be the first time a group has done so since 'N Sync made history at the beginning of 1999.

Meanwhile they brought Soho, New York City to a standstill on Tuesday night (12Aug08) when the trio dropped by the Apple Store to record songs for the iTunes Live From Soho series. Almost 500 fans packed the store while twice that number were turned away when the makeshift concert venue reached capacity. News of the show was released earlier on Tuesday - the same day the Jonas Brother's new album, A LIttle Bit Longer, was released. Minutes after Apple announced the same-day gig, more than 100 teenage fans set up camp outside the store.
The trio played a string of hits which were recorded for iTunes.
