
Robert Kelly, president of Local 308 of the Amalgamated Transit Union, claims that the CTA cut the funding for morning and mid-afternoon train car servicer positions, leaving trains to only be cleaned "on the midnights."
"This could become a serious health matter for thepublic," Kelly said in a statement.
But the CTA administration says cleanliness remains a priority, and that it is “maintaining all of its current rail car servicer positions and the same schedule for rail car cleaning.”
