SHOCKING AUDIO: Ghanaian-Canadian Promoter for Ghanaian BET Award Winner Sarkodie lashes out at HipHossip and Canadian Media DENYING Reporters interviews unless he's PAID!

Toronto, ON July 6th 2012: Sarkodie is an award winning Ghanaian music artist that has gained instant fame lately for his BET nomination and winning the 2012 BET International act in a tie with Nigeria's WizKid. Both artists are on a North American tour and he is currently in Toronto to perform Saturday 7/7/12. I was notified by some fans and media outlets that he is not accessible due to a "fiesty" promoter called Sam Tuga demanding cash and "respect" and many feel I will always have the "exclusive" which is not true as you can hear on this audio. I got the same rude treatment and DENIED an interview. Sarkodie seriously needs professional people to promote his gigs.

He has just lost the biggest opportunity to speak to a very MULTICULTURAL audience and media in Toronto, Canada the 4th largest city in North America....especially after a BET WIN!! I am 100% sure the artist is not aware of this bad representation. He tweeted his arrival in Toronto yesterday and I replied it. Click to enlarge.

Ghanaian artists are very talented and they need more international attention and not these unprofessional people. I learned that wannabe promoter Sam Tuga works for a very wealthy Ghanaian who brought Sarkodie to Canada and this Sam dude is only fronting for tickets for him.

So, what the haters did not want to happen, happened. Kanye brought Kim Kardashian with him and Beyonce came with Jay-Z and Solange. Alan Ferguson who won the Video Director of the Year said "Shout Out to the love of my life Solange. No woman can hold me down but she does." Big ups to Ferguson who for telling us he's Solange's man. OK, that's what I took from that. Jay-Z interrupted Kanye in the infamous Taylor Swift bit and Kim and Kanye left early as she had to hop on a Paris flight. The palace looks great.

We spotted Melanie Fiona yesterday rehearsing on the famed esteemed awards slated for Sunday July 1st. Fiona has definitely made her mark in the music business and continues to forge ahead. Chante Moore and several other stars were in for sound check as well as Usher who was seen backstage in the radio room talking to reporters yesterday.

It has been a very busy week for all and all the fans are waiting tommorow nite as the BET awards go LIVE at 8pm Eastern Toronto time. We are the only media in Canada that covers it every year so follow me on @HipHossip on twitter for all coverage and red carpet pictures.

The 2012 BET Awards are announced with Beyonce and Kanye leading NOMINATIONS

The nominations for the BET Awards ’12 were announced today at a press conference in New York. Find out which artists, athletes, and actors scored nods. My country NIGERIA once again scored TWO nominations in the Best International Act for Africa. My dear hip-hop son Whiz Kid and Ice Prince who have both worked hard are coming to the shrine auditorium. YAY!

Beyoncé and Kanye West lead the nominations for the BET Awards ’12, The pop superstar scores six nominations overall at the 12th annual show. Her videos for “Countdown” and “Love on Top” will compete against Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Ni**as in Paris” and “Otis,” as well as Usher’s “Climax” in the coveted Video of the Year category so it's Bey versus Jay and Yeezy. West follows with five nominations, most of them for his Watch the Throne collaborations with Jay-Z, who picks up four nods.YMCMB’s Drake and Lil Wayne each earn four nominations including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, while last year’s top nominee Chris Brown takes three. 

Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown will perform at the 12th annual show, while the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, who will also take the stage.
