How is the mental, physical and emotional health of the abducted Chibok Girls? Are they depressed, filled with anxiety and even simple things like menstrual periods and getting sanitary napkins and medicinal help with cramps, even some may have asthma which can get deadly in a forest if allergens persist? A group of Chubok girls I met in Maiduguri over the weekend spoke to me on the ordeal of trying to escape the gunmen that abducted them from their school the night of April 14th 2014. Several media has spoken to some of the girls who will not disclose any form of their identities. The 7 trucks used to kidnap them away as well as the stops they made in the village of Baale and wilderness to camp and rest. In the dead of the night they were forced as slaves to start working as cooks, cleaners and more chores.

This aspect of child slavery is the angle that I had suspected from the beginning of this saga as I never saw the girls as "missing" initially, especially when a family member told me it was an inside job to provide slaves to the insurgents. Insurgents must eat and have their clothes cleaned too and they do need maids. Now with Sarah Lawan's story (her assumed name) it looks as if they really may not want to harm them but just distribute them as slaves working for them.
