SFTC: DRAKE GETS JET NAMED AFTER HIM.

We already have a hotel in Toronto called the Drake Hotel for years now, but Air Drake? Only if you are a hard worker and don't hate. Learn from this successful young man. When Summit at the Hip-Hop Chronicle UK told me to get this guy to do a drop for me and KJ in 2008 and that he's gonna blow up, I didn't doubt it! Virgin Atlantic just launched in Canada June 29th 2010 and the first flight touched down complete with Sir Richard Branson and red mounties. Air Drake was the plane with the new album stamped on it! WICKED!

Now he says he knows so many people this year that he did not know last year and who the fock are they all? I'm not one of them. LOL!

Drake and Kemi 2010 (This Year)

Drake and Kemi 2009 (Last Year)

SFTC: DRAKE'S THANK ME LATER REVIEW.....TRACK #2

Has anyone listened to DRAKE'S NEW ALBUM in it's entirety? TRACK #2????? These are signs of R&B being endangered! R&B artists better step up their game!!! If a Rapper is singing like that, I'm making babies at 47! Is R&B music ultimately gonna be OBSOLETE?????

Drake may even be doing more R&B in the near future. Congrats to the Drakester! Above is the loot KJ gave out to HipHossip fans at the MMVA's.

SFTC: KJ CALLS RIHANNA A "COPYCAT!" CLAIMS SHE STOLE CANADIAN SONGSTRESS TRISH'S STYLE.

KJ and Trish on the Stylus red carpet

So we see Rihanna chilling with boyfey Matt Kemp in a Bossip snapshot yesterday on an outing. Our Music Director KJ has all gotten all worked up claiming that RiRi is stealing his main chic's style. As you know KJ has a lot of singing chics in his babe roster.

Trish is one of them and the epitome of multitalented, Trish has earned the right to reach for and fly with the stars. Perhaps it’s the relentless depth of her passion or the intoxicating quality of her voice, but the dance-driven, electro-pop infused entertainer has an undeniable star power. Earning the coveted title as the “next big thing”, her music intertwines the elements of electrifying R&B and captivating funk with an edgy hip-hop feel.

We met her at the 2010 Stylus awards in May 2010. Listen to Trish's music below. She's gonna be going big! The next big thing from Canada is TRISH!

SFTC: BEIBERBOY NABS BEST NEW ARTIST NOMINATION ON THE BET AWARDS!!

Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber is being honored among some of music’s most prominent Black performers. On Tuesday, the baby-faced teen idol nabbed a Best New Artist nomination for next month’s BET Awards in Los Angeles, where he’ll compete against fellow Canadian Melanie Fiona and the Drake-assisted hip-hop syndicate Young Money.

The annual awards show, sponsored by Black Entertainment Television, typically honors the accomplishments of entertainers of color, but officials describe Bieber — a former YouTube sensation discovered by “Confessions” star Usher — as a crossover artist with talent that transcends color lines. His latest album, My World 2.0, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard charts in March.

“Bieber has crossed the color boundaries the same way that hip-hop has crossed the boundaries the other way for a number of years,” says Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programing and Specials. “He’s had rhythm in his music. He makes the type of music our audience likes.”

The 2010 BET Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah, airs live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 27.

SFTC: "MY FANS THROWS BRAS AND PANTIES ON STAGE" DRAKE TALKS TO CNN.

Drake says he loves women but not a womanizer. He says L'il Wayne didn't do anything wrong and he was a scapegoat for others. He said all the odds were against him getting into the music biz...being Canadian, Jewish, light skin...I thought those were the GOOD things! I love this kid. Drake and my sons are all the same age group while KJ is pals with his mom! His musical mentor is Jay-Z??? What happened to his dad Dennis Graham and uncles Larry Graham (Sooner or later, One in a million) and Teenie Hodges?

COMING SOON SFTC: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TORONTO'S NEW R&B DYNAMO MARCUS VOYCE!

Click on people's faces in the photo to tag them.

COMING SOON: Marcus Voyce.

Get to know this Toronto R&B phenomenom. One song and you'll move the coffee table away and get down to making a baby!

His songs are very "storkysizzling" as in absolutely romantic. It's like Luther Vandross goes to college and his room mate is Keith Sweat. Mmmm....You sweat in that bedroom with one ballad in Voyce's tracks.

Voyce is a Facebook phenomenom with good looks, a charming personality and the ladies just have a thing for him. Even I fell in love with the music but with no man in the house but KJ, that's a bomber!!! What the...? Marcus is one of Toronto's best kept R&B secrets. SECRET NO MORE! He's even planning some hip-hop songs soon. Very versatile artist. Meanwhile savor some of the music while waiting for my exclusive interview with him. His friend's list on Facebook has topped 4999 meaning there is room for one more "lady." Sorry fellas....LMAO!!!

SFTC TRAGEDY: YSP-WSD DRUMMER DEVON WILL BE MISSED. DIED DURING JUNO WEEK!

Devon Clifford, the drummer of Canadian alt-rock act You Say Party! We Say Die!, has died aged 30. He collapsed during the band's Vancouver show at the Rickshaw Theatre venue on Friday (April 16).

Singer Becky Ninkovic reportedly asked fans at the gig to call 911 after he collapsed. He underwent emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage, but died April 18.

The band's record label Paper Bag has posted a statement from his family online:

YSPWSD's Devon Clifford experienced a massive brain haemorrhage resulting from congenital defects while on stage in Vancouver on Friday night and fell into a coma. A surgery was performed but sadly doctors were unable to save his life. He was 30.

Devon Clifford was an extremely gifted drummer and determined character. He loved his family, loved his band, loved traveling, loved being on stage and loved meeting people around the world. He was smart, witty, passionate, and music meant everything to him. He was also incredibly generous with his love and respected everybody he came into contact with. This was underlined by his work with the under privileged at the Portland Hotel Society.

The Clifford family would like to take this opportunity to remind young people to have the courage to follow their dreams like Devon did.

The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank everybody around the world for their kind words and stories about how Devon impacted their lives.

The band also paid tribute to their drummer via Twitter. Their post simply said: "DEVON CLIFFORD 1979 - 2010 R.I.P."

When I heard this, I was telling Jon Gallant who plays bass for Billy Talent as we met at the Pepsi commercial taping the very next day in St Johns, New Foundland during JUNO week. It was too premature as nobody knew Devon's condition.

We were all praying for him and then on Sunday I was told on the red carpet. KJ and I at HipHossip's thoughts and prayers are with his family. Above is John and I later that evening Sat April 17th at the JUNO gala where 37 awards were given away. R.I.P DEVON...

SFTC: MICHAEL BUBLE IS ENGAGED!

Cohen/WireImage

Crooner Michael Buble is set to race ex-girlfriend Emily Blunt up the aisle after asking his girlfriend Luisana Lopilato to marry him. The 34-year-old singer reportedly proposed to the Argentine actress/singer, 22, over the holidays and she jumped at the chance to become his wife, according to America's Star magazine.

This is Lopilato's third engagement - she was previously engaged to actor Mariano Martínez and tennis star Juan Monaco. Buble ended his three-year romance with actress Blunt in July 2008. She announced her engagement to actor John Krasinski in August (09).

SFTC: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SUPERSTAR SINGER ANDREENA MILL. (B-DAY OF THE DAY)

She's an iconic Canadian artist. Get to know Andreena Mill... She has worked with several huge artists like Drake and Kardinal Offishall. All you need to is google her and see for yourself. She's got a new mixtape out and there is so much more in 2010 and the rest of the decade. She's got that hot song "You and tomorrow" the Americans have to hear on MySpace.

At HipHossip, we always wish a very happy birthday to every artist but we can only feature so much. Our B-day today is Andreena's. Look at her kiddie self above wanting to be a singer when she grows up! Happy Birthday from KJ and I at HipHossip. You owe KJ a drop and both of us a 2010 exclusive phoner.
