Rapper Beanie Sigel did not die earlier this week despite a rumor going around online that the Philly rap icon passed away after being shot. Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the stomach on the morning of Dec. 5 in Pleasantville, Camden County, New Jersey. According to WCAU Philadelphia, police say it's all a hoax and Sigel is still hospitalized in critical condition.

When rappers speak, we listen! The BEST one out of all of them all, Shyne SPOKE today!!

If there is one thing I love about Shyne, it's keeping it real. This young man has so much in common with me, good or bad. I spoke with him on twitter in December and wanted to do an interview. With all the problems I had in the last 6 mos with my health and so many deaths in the family, I am now settled and looks like I may wanna even go to Belize to meet this homie. OR should we bring SHYNE to Nigeria? Ok, I will be working on the ideas. My interview will be in person we may even skype this thing.

This morning at exactly 9.35am Nigerian time, 10 mins ago, he tweeted his disgust with Hollywood about all the violence and bloodshed pushed into homes by the networks. You will remember Shyne was locked up almost 10 years for that Diddy Club shooting in NYC. He was subsequently deported from the USA to Belize where his father is a high ranking politician and in fact President. 

So what's the big deal? I was arrested for not reporting to Canadian immigration monthly as I was supposed to on August 9th. I was being deported the 25th so I didn't even remember that. The agreement was to always report but these guys had to lock me up at Vanier Women's prison (2B MAX for the female killers) for 7 days then to the airport as they heard that the US embassy may have given me travel documents to follow my kids to who are Americans to the USA. My dad was also a high ranking politician. In my case I did nothing wrong in Canada and private documents given to Nigerian immigration that was accidentally photocopied for me said I requested to GO HOME! #SMH. 

So cut the long story short, I was deported to Nigeria cos I was no longer eligible for refugee status, something the media said was a lie and that I was kicked out for antagonizing the conservative gun laws. You remember what I said to PM Harper that he designed gun laws to KILL black children. Even some shady Canadian politicians wrote letters to the Toronto Sun. I'm watching you and so is God! Even the Americans tried deporting CNN's Piers Morgan but their government ended up ignoring them.

So at the end of the day, we have violent shows all over the place and when the white kid takes the automatic and sprays the movie theater, kindergarten school, work place, high school and other public place and the black kid thugs up and sprays the barbeque at Danzig street in Toronto, the mothers day parade in New Orleans, the club or just the street corner in Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit, we just decide to BLAME IT ALL ON RAP MUSIC!

Those days are over! Lets start blaming TV and MOVIES now. I have held a news conference for rappers in Toronto, I have done it all. Now lets go after the TV and Movie industry. Shyne made a very VALID point! Pls keep keeping it real!! Look at what USAToday tweeted!! SMH!!

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT THE DYNAMIC HIP-HOP CLUB LOKI LOUNGE IN TORONTO. THE GUN MURDER OUTSIDE OF ANTHONY SMITH, 21.

The 14th homicide in Toronto, Canada is that of Anthony Smith, 21 and it happened outside the lovely Loki Lounge. I have been to a lot of events over there before. Lisa Peezy has so much going on with her company events and there is NEVER a problem. Now gunfire has erupted after fights spilled out into the streets. This has gone on forever at the Guvernment nightclub as well in the past and even one murder INSIDE the club during my 5 years in Canada. I posted this murder as usual on my Toronto homicide page "WhatAboutOurSons" and I received a statement from Loki Lounge below. PLS READ!

To WAOS: Regarding the recent shooting at King and Portland,

Early Thursday morning there was a shooting on the northeast corner of King and Portland. Contrary to media reports the incident was not related to the event at Loki Lounge that evening. There were no altercations or incidents inside Loki prior to the shooting, and by all accounts, it was a quiet but enjoyable night with good music and good people. The venue is less than 2000 square feet and we had as many as 14 staff working that night, all of whom have given statements to police that there was no incident or altercation. At the time of the shooting the bar was closed with only staff inside. At approximately 2:40am Loki security staff heard shots fired across the road, in front of the Lee Valley hardware store. At considerable personal risk, security staff left the bar, attended to the victims, made a 911 call and stayed on scene to flag down police cruisers. We are proud of the actions of our staff and our thoughts and sympathies are with the friends and families of the victims.

Loki has hosted the longest running hip hop party in the city and has never experienced gun violence, or any other type of serious incident, in over 3 years. We enjoy the regular patronage of celebrities, athletes and music artists and work to foster and incubate the local and bourgeoning hip hop culture for which Toronto has earned international acclaim. We work closely with 14th Division and the AGCO to maintain a controlled and safe environment and are proactive and progressive in efforts to better our industry as attested to by our application to the Better Bar None program. Our patrons are searched thoroughly upon entrance by pat-down and wand resulting in a drug and weapon free establishment. We are small bar holding just over one hundred people at capacity, with more licensed security than any bar our size. Our entrance is brightly lit and our licensed security staff keep the sidewalk as clear as possible as part of a larger security plan. These efforts and this business model have been successful, as we have experienced far fewer incidents than other local venues.

We welcome new residential development and are sensitive to points of tension as the neighbourhood transitions from old industrial/commercial to new residential. We welcome dialogue and debate but firmly believe a diversified and multicultural nightlife is a critical element of a well socially integrated city and are deeply disappointed by some of the suggestive and racialized comments circulating in social media. We believe the shooting, as with other similar incidents throughout the city, is symptomatic of a larger gun and gang problem in Toronto. We urge our city councillors to protect residents and small businesses alike from gun violence, as a neighbourhood’s bars and restaurants play an integral role in the culture and enjoyment of our city.

It was a SHOCK to me even as a Gun Victims Advocate. I was there during Columbine, Virginia State, even Canada's Danzig street and Eaton Center. I even saw the Adamawa student massacre in Nigeria in October 2012 with 40 dead, 23 gunned down and the rest throats slit. Mass shootings are killing the world and our families. Lets all END GUN VIOLENCE!

Connecticut State Police have released the names of the 26 victims. All 20 of the children who were killed were ages 6 and 7 and among them were 8 boys and 12 girls. The victims' names and ages are:

As we remember the victims, it is also clear that there a number of heroes as well. First grade teacher, Victoria Soto threw herself in front of her first grade students to protect them from Lanza. Although those students witnessed their teacher, who they adored, tragically shot in front of them, they were able to run out of the room and survived.
