#HNNTraffic #OrangeCounty Police looking for Hit and Run Driver who killed 4!

Orange Co, California: A hit-and-run driver is being sought Sunday in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Pomona, where four people were killed and four others were injured.

A group of eight was driving home to Lake Elsinore from Universal Studios around 5 a.m. Saturday when their SUV was clipped by a newer-model white car, which then took off.

The SUV, driven by the wife and mother of those killed, rolled down an embankment and over an off-ramp.

Four people were pronounced dead at the scene and the other four were taken to the hospital. Police suspect they were not wearing seat belts.

Gerardo Herrera, 49, his 21-year-old daughter Noemi and 29-year-old son Luis, as well as 26-year-old Elba Rosales, were killed.

Rosales was the girlfriend of another of Herrara's sons, who was injured in the crash.

The magnitude of the accident that killed my friend Shawty Lo may have been prevented. I'm saying this because he may have survived this single car ghastly accident. It was a single car accident.

The women who were passengers may have had their seat belts on and I bet one was in the front seat. Until I know the real facts from Fulton Country police traffic team, I can tell you that Shawty Lo was EJECTED from that 2016 Audi, a badass safe car with airbags.

He may have lived! Ejection from the driver seat means he likely had NO SEAT BELTS on. This is my take. Pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone wear your seat belts, even here in Africa the enforcement is STRICT!

#NewJersey Transit: 2 People Dead After 2 Transit Buses Collide in Newark, NJ,USA

One bus hit another bus near the intersection of Broad Street and Raymond Boulevard on Friday around 6 a.m. EDT, and at least 17 people were injured, officials said. This was a massive tragedy. The driver of one of the buses died this morning and now a passenger has died too. 

This looks like it happened at an intersection with traffic lights. One of the buses may have ran the red light. Whatever the case is, it is truly a tragedy and my heart goes out to all those injured and the dead.

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, Calif. (KABC) reports that a San Bernardino woman slammed on her brakes and then stepped out of her car while it was still moving in a bizarre crash caught on a dashboard camera in Rowland Heights earlier this month.

The crash occurred on Harbor Boulevard near Vantage Point at about 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 1. This is very weird and she was never charged with a crime yet the occupants of the other cars had minor injuries from her runaway car!!

Samsung's 'Clear' See thru Truck Aims to Make the Roads Safer #HNNTraffic

Samsung wants to leverage its technological expertise to make the roads a safer place.

It's a situation most drivers have experienced plenty of times: You're driving down a two-lane highway, stuck behind a slow-moving semi truck and unsure if it's safe to drive in the opposite lane to pass the vehicle

A prototype truck designed by Samsung shows how the South Korean electronics company hopes to leverage technology to make the oversize vehicles seemingly transparent.

A front-facing camera with night vision capability projects what the semi driver is seeing in front of them. The live video images is then projected onto the back of the truck, showing drivers behind the semi when it is or is not safe for them to pass.

The Cost of getting a driving license in Nigeria as revealed by FRSC #hnntraffic

Lots of fake licenses around and the carriers don't even know they are fake. 

The Nigerian Tribune reported that, Boboye, while speaking in Abuja, said the real cost of obtaining a driver’s licence from the corp was N6,350. He made the disclosure on Tuesday, at a one-day workshop organised by the commission for members of security agencies in the country on verification procedure of DL and number plates.

The FRSC boss said citizens can get their licences in licencing offices nationwide, adding that those, who gave other people money and passports to collect licences for them were doing themselves a lot of harm.

Members of the public who give money and passport size photograph to anybody in order to collect driver’s licence are doing disservice to themselves.

“Going through third party costs more money and produces fake licence to unsuspecting applicants, which is an offence. Cost of original driver’s licence is N6,350 and the applicant must go for biometrics at any licensing office across the country to obtain the licence.

“This is safer and costs less compared to the ones that pay third party for driver’s licence and at the end of the day, they will be apprehended for carrying fake licence,” Boboye said.

Boboye also stated that, it was a criminal offence for anyone to carry fake drivers licence, adding that those found with fakes drivers licence will be prosecuted.

Various Nigerian have been complaining that the FRSC was charging too much to get drivers licence. Nigerians pay as much as 15,000 to 17,000 Naira to obtain a drivers licence.

THE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS
The suspension system, part of the under carriage of an automobile, contains springs that move up and down to absorb bumps and vibrations. In one type of suspension system, a long tube or strut has a shock absorber built into its centre section. Shock absorber control or damper the sudden loading and unloading of suspension springs to reduce wheel bounce and the stock transferred from the road wheel to the body. One shock absorber is installed at each wheel. Modern shock absorbers have a telescoping design and use oil gas and air, or a combination to absorb energy

THE VEHICLE SPRING
Another component of suspension system is the spring. Both connect the vehicle’s frame to the wheels. Springs ‘’ soften’’ the effects of bumps while the shock absorber cushions the bouncing effects of spring ensuring the vehicle maintain traction and better road contact’’.

ABC 7 reports from ESCONDIDO, California that  Police are searching for the driver of an SUV that went airborne and crashed through the roof of a home in Escondido.The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 1600 block of Hubbard Place. Police say the driver ran off before officers got to the scene. 

Imagine, the homeowner said she thought she was experiencing an earthquake! No injuries were reported, but two cars in the garage were damaged.The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The driver has already piled up some huge charges I can tell you!

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A UPS truck drove off an overpass on Route 288 and landed on Route 10 below, Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore said. The crash happened at about 9:20 Wednesday morning, the driver rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

“The ramp from Rt. 288 south to Rt. 10 is closed due a crash,” a VDOT spokeswoman said. “One lane is also closed on Ironbridge Rd./Rt. 10 north.”

Traffic is backed up one mile on Ironbridge Rd. More information on this as I get it. Prayers for the driver. Packages were seen all spilled across the median.

More roundabouts are showing up in Wisconsin. In fact there are now more than 300 of them in the state. The state DOT conducted a study that shows a significant drop in serious and/or fatal accidents at intersections because of the traffic configuration.

And when your lane doesn't line up with entering or exiting, you need to watch for people in the lane next to you. And at night, where are the marker lights so you can see the thing?   Tim Gumz I am and I'm not. They are not that hard to navigate and they do cut down in major accidents.
  Where I am not on board is they do not seem to design them big enough for semi's to navigate around without popping up on the inner curb or using all available lanes of traffic to squeeze through.

  Nick Flitcroft They are awesome, Clearly i am in the minority, But when used properly (which seems most people don't understand the concept) They are great. Just think of the time it cuts down traveling down Mooreland Rd. by I-43 that always took a good portion of time, not that their are round about it's a breeze getting through their, I also can't remember the last time i actually SAW an accident or the aftermath of one besides the semi rolling over at I-43 and Racine Ave. Which is most likely do to driver error than the actual round about itself. More people need to read up or watch a small video on how to approach, enter, and leave a Round about....hint hint, Might be a good news segment
