
The former Culture Club star, who admits to being a big Winehouse fan, says, "You can't stop someone taking drugs, I know that, but you can certainly stop them performing. Somebody needs to stop her going onstage. "I've been in that place... I know exactly what it's like and I know how bad it is for her. "I mean there's nothing of her... she's emaciated. It just breaks my heart to see it. Who is around to drag her off the stage?"
Meanwhile, he is considering turning his return to America into a charity show so he can pay back two fans who spent $10,000 on a concert that won't take place. The former Culture Club star has been forced to scrap his summer shows in the states after being denied a U.S. visa due to a pending legal wrangle. And although he feels terrible about the news, he's more upset about the fans who have already purchased tickets and plane fares. In an online chat with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, he says, "There's fans that have spent thousands of pounds (dollars) on tickets and that's really sad.
"There's a couple of fans who have spent, like, $10,000 and they're not gonna get it back. "We'll have to do something to help them; we'll have a charity night or something." George, real name George O'Dowd, hopes to return to America in 2009 once his pending litigation has been resolved.
