IS CODY REALLY THE NEXT BEIBER? WHITE HOT LOOKING TEEN, BLACK URBAN STAR AND YOUTUBE=RECORD DEAL.

He's a tween pop star whose amateur YouTube videos have earned him a record deal, a hit single, and a spot in the hearts of preteen girls around the globe. No, not Justin Bieber. Preteen fans are clamouring for Australian native Cody Simpson, who having just turned 14 is gracing the pullout posters inside this month's tween magazines, has nearly 500,000 followers on Twitter and a catchy pop single and video, “iYiYi,” featuring rapper Flo Rida.

Yes, many are calling him “the next Justin.” And certainly his fresh-faced look and obscure Gold Coast, Queensland origins give him a few things in common with Stratford, Ont. native Bieber.

Next Bieber or not, Simpson is one of a gaggle of boy stars, including actor/rapper Jaden Smith, singer and YouTube sensation Greyson Chance, and boy band Big Time Rush, rushing in to win fans who may tire of Bieber Fever — or who may be too young to relate to him.“HE'S LUSH,” declares 14-year-old Cody Simpson fan Christina F. in all-caps. “He's amazingly beautiful, he's all the beautiful words in the dictionary. I can't explain his beauty. He is just too hot.” Read the rest.

BOY GEORGE HAS A CRUSH ON BRITISH ACTOR.

British actor MATHEW HORNE got a saucy surprise when BOY GEORGE visited t he set of a new biopic - the former CULTURE CLUB star has a crush on him. Horne plays Jon Moss, drummer with the Karma Chameleon hitmakers, in th e BBC's Worried About The Boy, a dramatisation of the singer's early years in the band. George was adamant the production should accurately portray events, so he became a consultant on the film - and took "a shine" to Horne when he visited the shoot.

The actor says, "George became involved quite early on, because obvious ly it's a film about his life. So he wanted to know whether it was good, whether it was kind to him, so he became a consultant on the film. And he really helped out by providing clothes and rectifying any inaccuracies." Asked if rumours George took "a shine" to him on set are true, Horne replied: "George made a comment... It's probably not appropriate (to repeat it)."

GWEN STEFANI TURNS 40.

GWEN STEFANI turned 40 in style on Saturday (03Oct09) with a star-studded lunchtime birthday bash at a West Hollywood Italian restaurant. The rocker/designer took over Cecconi's famous Butterfly Room for the intimate bash, which included her husband Gavin Rossdale and best pal Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman. The long afternoon party concluded when the birthday girl was surprised with a big cake decorated with candles and sparklers.

Meanwhile the spunky singer was performing in Singapore Saturday night when robbers smashed in the front door of her London mansion, the Daily Mail reports. While the thieves were unable to gain access to the top two floors of the house, where Stefani lives with her husband Gavin Rossdale and their two children, they did manage to steal jewelry from the apartment the 39-year-old singer rents to the head of the Arts Council England, Elizabeth Forgan. The break in occurred around 11:30 pm, but neighbors evidently did not notice and failed to alert cops for another 12 hours. Stefani was performing with her band No Doubt at the F1 Rocks concert in Singapore, where she was headlining along with Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas.

WHY DID STEPHEN PAGE LEAVE THE BARE NAKED LADIES?

Singer-guitarist Steven Page has left the Barenaked Ladies.

The news comes several months after drug charges against Page were dropped in the U.S. His arrest came after the band, known for its clean-cut image and whimsical lyrics, released an album of children's songs titled, "Snacktime."

The band's Web site said Wednesday that Page will pursue solo projects, including theatrical opportunities.

Page, his girlfriend and her roommate were charged with drug possession in July after police found cocaine at an apartment in New York state. In late October, all three secured a deal to have charges dropped if they stayed out of trouble for six months.

Page wished the band the best.

"These guys are my brothers," he said in the online statement. "We've grown up together over the past 20 years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future."

The band was formed in Toronto and released 12 albums, producing hits such as "If I Had $1,000,000," "Brian Wilson" and "Too Little, Too Late."

The other members will return to the studio in April and will tour in the fall.

"It's the start of a new chapter for all of us," band member Ed Robertson said. "Here's to the future!"

ELTON JOHN URGES U.S. TO ACCEPT GAY MARRIAGES.

SIR ELTON JOHN wants America to scrap the word "marriage" - in a bid to overturn a ban on same-sex weddings. Gay marriages were legalised in California in May (08), but the legislation was reversed last week (04Nov08) when the majority of voters backed Proposition 8, a bill to reintroduce the ban.

And at an AIDS Foundation event in New York this week, the Rocket Man legend spoke of his own union to longtime partner David Furnish urging Americans to banish the word "marriage" to make gay nuptials more acceptable. He tells Access Hollywood,

"David and I have a civil partnership in England. We have complete rights between the two of us, we're protected completely. I think the word 'marriage' puts a lot of people off in this country. "If they got over the word 'marriage,' I think it would be a lot easier for gay people to get together."

PUSSYCAT DOLLS star NICOLE SCHERZINGER was taken on a tour of her boyfriend LEWIS HAMILTON's hometown - because he wanted to show her landmarks from his childhood. STONE KEPT ALBUM RECORDING SECRET FROM RECORD LABEL.

British soul singer JOSS STONE began recording tracks for her forthcoming album in secret - because she didn't want her label to interfere with the process. The You Had Me star is signed to EMI, which is now owned by business giant Terra Firma. The takeover in August 2007 resulted in a number of EMI's biggest artists leaving the label, including Radiohead and the Rolling Stones.

But Stone is tied to the company via her contract and she was determined to make an album that she was truly happy with - so she recorded it without her label chiefs' knowledge. She says, "I recorded the bulk of my new album in the space of a week in February this year. But it was like a secret - not a secret from the world, but a secret from the record company, because, basically, I didn't want them f**king with it.

"EMI was going through a lot of change at the time. It's a very long story but there aren't many people left there that I know now. "I recorded the album at my mum's house in Devon. It was like a building site at the time, so it was just me and a crew in two bare rooms with a mic."

How did she pull that off?

TIMBERLAKE WAS DANCING IN THE WOMB.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was born to be a smooth mover - he had his first dance lesson in his mother's womb. The pop superstar's mum Lynne hit the dance floor while carrying the SexyBack singer - and he's convinced it prepared him for a career on the stage. He tells E! "My mother, I don't know how pregnant she was with me, but I know that she did a 10 year reunion recital with the people she used to take dance class with.

"I always joke around that my dance lesson was in the womb. I know that she used to say that." He adds, "My father used to play in a band, and she used to say that (I'd) just sit there and bounce." But he didn't get all his creative attributes from Lynne, as he explains, "I got my voice from my father."
Now let's get down to all that dancing in the womb thing. You know our HipHossip kid Correspondent KJ also danced the hell in my WOMB! It was a mess and felt like a monster heartburn! Take a look at him dancing to Nelly's marijuana song below and then his own Dancing with the neighbor version! He finally won the cash prize this past August at the North York dance contest for kids.

GIRLS ALOUD'S CHERYL COLE BLASTS SPICE GIRLS.

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE has slammed the SPICE GIRLS, branding them "bitchy". The singer shot to stardom in 2002 after winning a place in the band through British TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals and is currently a judge on U.K. reality series The X Factor. And Cole reveals she finds it infuriating when pop hopefuls tell her they want to become "the new Spice Girls." She tells Britain's Attitude magazine,

"I think 'p**s off!' We've been around for six years - they were around for 18 months! "We recognise what the Spice Girls did, but it really annoys me when you meet the girls who go: 'We wannabe the next Spice Girls.' "Yes, they had worldwide domination, but they fell out, bitched about each other and went their separate ways. We've been around all this time, fighting to climb each step of the ladder, putting our hearts into everything."

The Spice Girls enjoyed global success after releasing 1996 single Wannabe, going on to sell more than 55 million records worldwide before splitting in 2001. They performed a series of reunion shows around the world last year (07) with the tour concluding in February (08). Girls Aloud have dominated the U.K. charts over the last six years.

All this jealousy really amazes me. She's probably directing her anger at Posh. An insider tells me that Cheryl HATES Posh Beckam! You know my fave in the group Mel C and Emma ain't bitchy!

ELTON JOHN'S BROOCH FAILS TO SET AUCTION ALIGHT

SIR ELTON JOHN proved he didn't have the Midas touch at a London auction on Thursday (25Sep08) - a brooch he put under the hammer failed to attract any buyers. The legendary singer offered the bejewelled item to exclusive auction house Bonhams in the British capital, and it was expected to be the biggest seller.

The 'J' shaped sapphire and diamond piece was displayed alongside a snap of the star wearing it in the video for his 1988 hit I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That. But the piece didn't interest any collectors - and was left unsold at the end of the auction, despite experts predicting it would fetch more than $22,200 (£12,000). Auction bosses blamed the current turbulent economic climate as the reason for the

LANCE BASS PONDERS LAUNCHING GAY DANCE SHOW.

Former *N SYNC star LANCE BASS has hinted he'd love to launch his own version of hit U.S. show DANCING WITH THE STARS - featuring gay couples. The openly gay star will appear in the forthcoming season of the hit show, teaming up with professional dancer Lacey Schwimmer. And although Bass doesn't believe the current run would be the right platform for a same-sex couple to appear on, he'd love to see a similar program just for homosexuals. He tells E! Online,

"I think it would be so silly that it would just overshadow everything else going on. It would just be like making fun of something. But if it was another show with all guys dancing and all girls dancing, that's a different story. I think that's sexy. I should pitch that."

Meanwhile, BASS has been inspired to adopt a child in light of California's gay marriage ruling. The 29-year-old star is eager to settle down since state authorities lifted the ban on same-sex marriage in May (08). And he admits he dreams of meeting the right man to start a family. He says,

"I think everyone dreams of that nice romantic wedding. And I love kids. I want to adopt and I want to have my own."

WE NOW HAVE PICTURES OF JANET'S KICK OFF CONCERT IN VANCOUVER WEDNESDAY.

The padded outfits are something else but I don't care much about the hair. Janet looks weird with that natural afro but I think it must be part of the ensemble. Did Janet think the cold has already arrived in Canada to pad that outfit real good? Anyhow, girlfriend looks dynamically talented than you! LOL! Gimme a beat! Heard that interview she did and said the word "excited" tons of times in one sentence? JJ and Melanie fed on that one this morning and even made it a contest! It was so hillarious!

WE HEAR NOEL GALLAGHER WAS VERY HURT DURING THAT STAGE INTRUDER INCIDENT HERE IN TORONTO!

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was taken to hospital after being shoved onto his speaker during a concert in Toronto, the band's official website said Monday.

The band was playing "Morning Glory" on Sunday evening when the unidentified man "ran on from the back of the stage and pushed Noel from behind, who fell heavily on to his monitor speakers," a statement on the band's website said.

Gallagher, 41, returned to the stage and continued playing shortly thereafter, but was taken to hospital afterwards "to be examined for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage."

The assailant has been detained by police. The band has not yet taken a decision regarding its upcoming concert in London, Ontario on Tuesday evening, the statement said.

You know all the stuff I would have love to ask Gallagher about Glastonbury, Jay-Z and more. Even with a press interview pass or any pass as a matter of fact, this one guy has ruined it for everybody else's work! Below is the video! Was he a Jay-Z fan?
