As many people continue to have compassion for these two American nurses, we in Nigeria feel the same with a Liberian that changed Nigeria forever also has changed America as well, Ebola is not being taken seriously by healthcare workers and officials. Today the WHO acknowledged they did not act fast enough till August 8th when they announced Ebola as a global emergency.
Meanwhile this nurse Nina Pham, 26 released a video of herself as a patient in that failed Texas hospital before she is transferred to the NIH facility in Bethesda, Maryland. A doctor is speaking to her in this video. There are issues of privacy and the American HIPAA laws not being taken seriously. I have a problem with too much activity in an already infected facility. She has no protective gear on, the doctor does, who filmed the whole thing? The touch and sweaty palms factor and so much is going on in there. She even wiped tears with a tissue. where did she dump that tissue? It's MEDICAL WASTE and a biohazard, her body fluids. We have to focus and not create a new set of mistakes.
This is NOT a reality show. You can document any aspect of your life but when you and your doctor starts making a tape for the world to see, you are filming a reality show. Other patients have kept private about this as they are very upset. Look at Amber Vinson who was supposed to be getting married. Is she gonna be able to have an intimate relationship ever again? She will have TO BE CURED!
Lets take Ebola seriously! The less we contact things and people and wash our hands, the better.
