He was buried on our Independence Day October 1st 2016 and I was out of my office. Yes, his last moments was at his favourite strip club and he posted the videos. Heard his body passed thru that strip club and the whole of Bankhead.  Shawty Lo, born Carlos Walker, was laid to rest during an emotional homegoing service. Held at Jackson Memorial Baptist church in Atlanta, the service was attended by over 3,000 family members, friends, and fans of the rapper.

Shawty Lo’s 11 kids brought many of the attendees to tears by sharing stories of their father and revealing how made it a point to give back to his community.

Following the service, Shawty Lo’s funeral procession drove through the Bankhead community as hundreds paid their respects to the “King of Bankhead” one last time. In these 3 pics via Twitter, I had just interviewed him before winning that BET Hip-Hop award. He actually shouted me out on that clip. Sad he never made it to Africa as he promised me soon.
