Disgraced Olympian Ryan Lochte gets new endorsement deal with Cough drop maker #HNNImpct

Despite losing deals with Speedo, Ralph Lauren and other high-profile brands after fabricating a tale about getting robbed at gunpoint during the Rio Olympics, the Olympic swimmer is getting back on the sponsorship wagon, this time with cough drop maker Pine Bros. Lochte will appear in a television commercial and print ads for the company.

"We all make mistakes, but they're rarely given front-page scrutiny," Pine Bros. CEO Rider McDowell said in a statement. "He’s a great guy who has done incredible work with charities. I’m confident that Pine Bros. fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second chance."

Pine Bros. has been known for some off-beat marketing campaigns. In 2014, the company picked up Martha Stewart, ten years after her own fall from grace, for an old-fashioned, testimonial-style advertisement that aired during the Golden Globes and raised more than a few eyebrows.

The last of the three swimmers with Ryan Lochte at the scene of a Rio gas station dispute on Aug. 14 that turned into an international incident released a statement late Tuesday night, including details on the negotiations between his lawyers and the Brazilian authorities.

Jimmy Feigen said he was interviewed multiple times by police as he was caught up in the aftermath of Lochte initially telling the news media that they had been robbed at gunpoint Feigen said he was presented with two options by Brazilian prosecutors last week: wait about a month as police conduct its investigation or pay a fine.

Prosecutors initially sought $31,500 for the return of Feigen’s passport that would allow him to leave the country. When Feigen’s lawyers balked at that figure, prosecutors raised the fine to $46,875.

“Finally, all parties agreed to a $10,800.00 fine,” Feigen said. “I was able to contact my family in the United States along with my American attorneys and we were able to satisfy the payment of the fine the next day. My passport was returned to me after payment was received, and I was able to return home.”

The U.S. women's basketball team won a sixth consecutive Olympic gold medal in dominant fashion, routing Spain 101-72 on Saturday. Taurasi and the Americans played nearly flawless basketball in Rio, and were never challenged. They have won 49 consecutive games in the Olympics with only one of those decided by single digits.

With that kind of sustained success, no one wants to say this is the best women's basketball team ever assembled. They won by nearly 40 points a game, but fell short of the record 102.4 points the 1996 team averaged.

As if winning five Olympic medals and meeting Zac Efron didn’t do enough to make a memorable Games for Simone Biles, she adds one more experience to her time in Rio.

Biles was chosen as the Team USA flag bearer for closing ceremony on Sunday, capping off a whirlwind two weeks that have seen the gymnast become one of the most successful athletes in these Games.

"It's an incredible honor to be selected as the flag bearer by my Team USA teammates,” Biles said in a statement. “This experience has been the dream of a lifetime for me and my team and I consider it a privilege to represent my country, the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics by carrying our flag. I also wish to thank the city of Rio de Janeiro, and the entire country of Brazil, for hosting an incredible Games.”

Biles is only the second American gymnast to carry the flag in an opening or closing ceremony after Alfred Jochim in 1936.

Ryan Lochte: US Olympic Swimmer Apologizes for Behavior Regarding Gas Station Incident in Rio

"I am sorry to my teammates, my fans, my fellow competitors, my sponsors, and the hosts of this great event," Lochte said on Instagram and Twitter Friday. "I have learned some valuable lessons." So they lied to the Brazilian police after surveillance video emerged. I heard the other guy is donating $10K to a Brazilian charity as a way of his apology. Glad they learned their lesson or they will be in a Brazilian jail right now.

Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen: Judge Orders US Swimmers Not to Leave Brazil Amid Robbery Probe

A Brazilian judge ordered the seizure of the swimmers' passports amid an investigation into their claims of being robbed at gunpoint in Rio. Lochte has reportedly already returned to the U.S. How does the law work over there? Seizing passports of Olympic athletes who reported being robbed at gunpoint? Brazil is not a safe country to start with and I won't return there.

Olympian Simon Biles finally meets her celebrity crush Zac Efron #HNNImpact

Simone Biles has five Olympic medals -- four gold, one bronze -- and a huge crush on actor Zac Efron. She has a lifesize cutout of him in her room, and confessed to the crush on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Finally, Simone met Zac, and it was about as adorable as you would expect. It's not the first time Efron has reached out to Biles. On Twitter, he wished her luck at the Olympic trials, and again at the Olympics. He's best known for his starring role in "High School Musical." Between Efron meeting Biles and Aly Raisman's wish to go shopping with Blake Lively, the Final Five is ready to take over Hollywood. What a sweet story.

Raisman finished behind teammate Simone Biles in the event, which Raisman won at the London 2012 Games. She also won silver in the all-around and gold in the team event in Rio. The Americans rule at all times in the gymnastics area. In my days it was Dominique Dawes and Mary Lou Retton.
