Why I DESPISED @LindaIkeji for YEARS--Kemi Olunloyo #HNNMedia

Ethics, slander, defamation issues come to play when people start sending in FAKE stories where Linda has gotten in trouble with before with me included on the 2013 story of my threatening to shoot bloggers. She introduced me on her blog to the Nigerian public for the first time as a violent person holding an M16 in a photo that belonged to Toronto Police of guns I helped seized of the streets in Canada when I was a gun violence activist.

This defamed me and is the reason why I despise her since 2013. Linda heard about the case where I took 25 blogs down in a day for copyright violations where bloggers were stealing my photos on my Facebook page. I filed DCMA's and many people lost access to their blogs and it was chaos as I was trending.

Linda wrote a story titled "Ms Kemi threaten's bloggers with gun" and I went livid. Though she later apologized on twitter sarcastically, she vowed NEVER to blog about me ever again, a promise she's kept. I did NOT accept that apology. It was way too disrespectful and she didn't mean it. I started to dig into her past and began ripping and mocking her for a three year period including busting her on the Dasuki money. Something she did not deny in her recent Encomium interview.

Veteran TV Morning Host Charles Osgood retires #HNNMedia

‘Sunday Morning’ Host Charles Osgood to Retire
Credits: The Wrap

Charles Osgood will retire as anchor of CBS' "Sunday Morning," he announced on Sunday.

"I am pushing 84," he said as part of remarks he shared on air.

His last "Sunday Morning" broadcast will air on Sept. 25, marking the end of his 22 years on the show.

Over Osgood's 45-year career he has won awards.

The host will continue to anchor "The Osgood File," which are daily news commentaries broadcast on the CBS Radio Network and stations around the country.

He will also make occasional appearances on "Sunday Morning."

Osgood shared this on today's broadcast:

"Some of you may have heard rumors lately that I won't be hosting these 'Sunday Morning' broadcasts very much longer. Well, I'm here to tell you that the rumors are true. For years now people -- even friends and family -- have been asking me why I keep doing this considering my age. I am pushing 84. It's just that it's been such a joy doing it! Who wouldn't want to be the one who gets to introduce these terrific storytellers and the producers and writers and others who put this wonderful show together. I want to thank all of them and all of you in our still-growing audience for your support and encouragement. It's been a great run, but after nearly 50 years at CBS, including the last 22 years here on 'Sunday Morning,' the time has come. The date is set for me to do my farewell 'Sunday Morning.' It's September the 25th, after which you can still see me on the radio. 'The Osgood File' continues."

NBC NOT HAPPY with Al Roker's outburst on air about Ryan Lochte #HNNMedia

I thought that Roker's outburst was a little bit too much. Did you watch the segment?
Roker wasn’t wrong, but according to Page Six, “Today” show executives and on-air talent are unhappy with the way things went down. The outburst also apparently made things a little awkward with the U.S. Olympic Committee.

“It was a great thing to watch online, but a lot of NBC staff thought that he took it way too far for something that, while it was certainly a legitimate issue and certainly bad behavior by Lochte, outrage to that level just wasn’t justified,” a source told Page Six.

The Washington Post recently wrote up reports of in-fighting among the anchors, pointing out the awkwardness between Bush and Roker when they had to insist they were “friends” after their Lochte disagreement.

But an NBC exec that spoke to Page Six insisted things are good with Roker and the rest of the crew. The Huffington Post has reached out to NBC and will update this post accordingly.

Gawker BLOG is DEAD! What happened? #HNNMedia

Gawker Logo.png

On August 18th, 2016, Gawker Media announced that its flagship blog, gawker.com, would be ceasing operations the week after. Univision will continue to operate Gawker Media's six other websites - Deadspin, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku and Lifehacker.

On August 22nd, 2016 Nick Denton wrote the final article for Gawker, titled "How Things Work." this is too sad. Many say the Hulk Hogan sex tape judgement caused it all. Either way I loved that blog when it started in 2003. I started blogging in 1999 with Pyra which became Google's blogger. There were many controversies with celebrities and more.

Read the blog's Wikipedia profile to better understand.

Sean Hannity: Fox News Broadcaster Responds to Tweet Calling Him Network's 'Dumbest Anchor'

Rob Kim/Getty
The Wall Street Journal's Bret Stephens called Hannity "Fox News' dumbest anchor." Hannity responded in a series of tweets, including, "If Hillary wins I will hold a------- like you accountable." Hannity is a great news anchor. I've known him for over 20 years. Bret is just way behind on that one

Beyonce set to create her own TV network #HNNmedia

Beyonce and Blue Ivy in Paris

Beyonce is reportedly set to follow in Oprah's footsteps with her own TV network.

The Lemonade star , who has ventured into music and fashion on top of her charitable efforts and incredible music career, is now setting up her own TV channel, reports The Sun.

Beyonce's empire is reportedly expanding with her management company Parkwood and it's likely to launch within the next ten years, it has been claimed. But don't expect Beyonce to be hosting her own talk show and giving out life-changing gifts to viewers like Oprah, instead it has been claimed that the Single Ladies star is planning something educational and will likely include documentaries about African and American history.

“She intends to create her own TV network just like Oprah,” an insider told the newspaper.

Don't you like this picture of Beyonce and Blue in similar outfits that makes them look like one great big Arizona Green tea can. lolz.

Oprah Winfrey waves goodbye to her iconic Harpo Studios #HNNMedia

I personally did not want this to happen. That studio was very iconic. I attended the final show of the Oprah Winfrey show there in Chicago.I worked with Oprah Winfrey while I was a young pharmacy student moonlighting as a receptionist at WJZTV in Baltimore where she got her start in the business.

The tweet below made me sad! Good luck to Oprah who is focusing solely on her OWN network in Hollywood.

Montel Williams: TV Personality and Radio Show Host Walks Off 'The O'Reilly Factor #HNNMedia

Williams said he walked off Wednesday's show when he was told they would not be discussing his LGBT speech despite being told otherwise earlier. O'Reilly called Williams "cowardly" for leaving. Bill O'Reilly is more controversial than I am.

The Fox news host is a longtime hero of mine. Sorry Montel. I love them both. Montel was diagnosed of Multiple Sclerosis years ago and was one of the top TV talk show hosts in the 90's on US television.

Who is going to lead Fox News after Roger Ailes is FIRED?

Roger Ailes's tenure as the head of Fox News may be coming to an end. Rupert Murdoch and sons Lachlan and James — co-chairmen and CEO, respectively, of parent company 21st Century Fox — have settled on removing the 76-year-old executive, say two sources briefed on a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes being conducted by New York law firm Paul, Weiss. After reviewing the initial findings of the probe, James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired. Lachlan is more aligned with their father, who thinks that no action should be taken until after the GOP convention this week. Another source confirms that all three are in agreement that Ailes needs to go.

While Gretchen Carlson’s sexual-harassment lawsuit against Ailes sparked the investigation, sources say it has expanded into a wide-ranging inquiry into Ailes’s controversial management style. The interviews are now being conducted at Paul, Weiss’s midtown offices because of concerns that the Fox offices could be bugged, sources say. The lawyers are seeking to interview former female employees of Fox News in addition to current staff. They are also looking into the appropriateness of Ailes’s pressuring employees to speak out on his behalf, against his accusers. For instance, they are focusing on an op-ed written by Fox Business anchor Neil Cavuto in which Cavuto called the allegations against Ailes “sick.” As Cavuto is a manager at Fox News (his title is senior VP and managing editor), his comments could be seen as part of a corporate attempt to silence women who would speak out.

21st Century Fox did not respond for comment. Ailes’s spokesperson, Irena Briganti, also did not respond.

Meanwhile, one Fox host told me that Ailes loyalists are reporting back on the investigation to his attorney, and Fox contributor, Susan Estrich. “They’re scared to death,” one Fox anchor told me. “The mood is bleak.”

Congrats to Best AFRICAN BLOGGER Uche Pedro of @BellaNaija #HNNMedia

BellaNaija.com

This post is long overdue. When I was a very active blogger in the US and Canada, I read all her great coverage of Nigeria. She is indeed the BEST. A Nickelodeon award is impressive. Says a lot. Some bloggers thrive on comments, others advert money but Uche Pedro gives us great content. As a social media personality, I know what good blogging is about. Been blogging since 199. Congrats Uche!

American Sports Presenter loses job after he mixed @Prince lyrics into broadcast #HNNMedia

635976176504064732-Prince.jpg

A Nashville television sports anchor has apparently lost his job because he mixed Prince lyrics into a recent broadcast.

WZTV Fox-17 sports anchor Dan Phillips used a Prince-themed sports report on April 21.

When contacted by The Tennessean, he would not confirm that was why he was fired from the Sinclair Broadcast Group-owned station and said he did not want to comment. Phillips worked at the station for 10 years.

However, Phillips posted on his Facebook page that was the reason he was let go. The station director has not returned newspaper media houses calls.

"First of all, I want to thank everyone for the kind words, comments and positive feedback on this tribute I did to Prince last week. It really means a lot.

Unfortunately, there were apparently some viewers, as well as management at the station, who did not feel the same way. They felt I was insensitive. And as a result, I was terminated today.

I'm choosing to use this as a catalyst for some exciting things I've been working on for some time now. I'll have many more details on this in coming days.

For now, thanks again for all of your support. And if you need an old, washed-up sports guy for anything, please let me know!"

Radical #Yoruba group OPC launches Online Radio and Magazine. Is the NBC listening? #HNNMedia

OPC is regarded as a terrorist group by some in the Yoruba race. However they use a lot of violent thugs in their operations. Their leader Otunba Gani Adams has announced that an online radio station and magazine will be launched. Adams who said the launch took place in London earlier in the week, explained that the media will serve to project, enhance and showcase the Yoruba cultural heritage and tradition of the Yoruba to the world at large. I wonder if the FEDS will be watching that station and the broadcast. I guarantee it may get tribal. Yorubas are big tribalists.

He said that there was an urgent need to resuscitate the Yoruba culture and tradition which he regretted were going extinct. Adams said the radio station would propagate the cultural beliefs of the Yoruba through what he described as effective communication channels.

According to him, “establishing the Oodua Radio and Magazine is a deliberate attempt to showcase Yoruba culture and ethics globally. In his address, Tourism Editor of Tribune newspapers, Gabriel Akinadewo, urged Nigerians especially the Yoruba to be culture ambassadors within and outside the country.

“We must all support the Federal Government by projecting the image and protecting the name of Nigeria for the change mantra to work and Oodua Radio is a platform for everybody living in London to do this,” he said.

I understand the magazine will be dedicated to Mrs HID Awolowo.

Twitter mocks Brian Williams’ coverage of the Pope #HNNMedia

As Brian Williams returned to TV Tuesday with coverage of Pope Francis’ first U.S. visit, Twitter poked fun of the lying anchor’s history of “misremembering” stories.

With the hashtag #BrianWilliamsPopeStories, users shared exaggerated stories of the news anchor and the pontiff. Meanwhile, Williams kept his real coverage on MSNBC strictly focused on the Pope’s visit, failing to mention the lies that kept him off the air for six months. He nearly fired after an internal investigation found at least 11 instances in which Williams embellished details of stories involving himself — but was instead punished with a suspension.

Pope Francis landed in Washington D.C. Tuesday and will head to New York Thursday. He’ll make a stop in Philadelphia before heading home to Rome on Sunday.

#HNNMedia Omoyele Sowore defends Adeola's barging into Mugabe's face.

"I am not a journalist, I don’t aspire to become a journalist. I am a media practitioner. That is very clear on our platform and mission to the world. You need to see how the world is celebrating this. I am proud of Adeola.

They never thought our kind of journalism could bring change, it has happened and they are in shock so their natural reaction is to push back."- Omoyele Sowore, Publisher at Sahara Reporters

So does that give her the right to now ground all interviews by Nigerian reporters? I think she over did it.

Obama Honors PERSECUTED #Journalists around the world #HNNMedia #HNNImpact

Spotted this today on the US Embassy's page...

“Journalists give all of us, as citizens, the chance to know the truth about our countries, ourselves, our governments. That makes us better. It makes us stronger. It gives voice to the voiceless, exposes injustice, and holds leaders like me accountable,” - President Obama.
Do you agree? Why do you THINK Journalists are important?

I wanted April Ryan and Jean Ross to see this cos they mentored me as a Journalist as I entered this profession while I was a Pharmacist. Jean used to let me come in and do a weekly health segment on her morning show with Frank Ski while April used to step in to do her half hourly newscasts. What many Journos have gone thru today is unimaginable. President Obama honored some of them.

President Obama recently honored journalists who were harassed and even beaten or incarcerated by their home countries. What was their crime? Sharing information and ideas that their governments would prefer to keep in the dark.

“Journalists give all of us, as citizens, the chance to know the truth about our countries, ourselves, our governments. That makes us better. It makes us stronger. It gives voice to the voiceless, exposes injustice, and holds leaders like me accountable,” the president said May 1.

Obama was joined by journalists Fatima Tlisova, Dieu Cay, and Lily Mengesha. “All three have been detained or harassed in the past. All three have sought refuge here in the United States. And we welcome them so that they can continue their important work,” he said.
Fatima Tlisova, from Russia, was attacked, kidnapped and tortured after reporting on military operations in the North Caucasus region, disappearances and corruption. Her investigative journalism covered Circassian nationalism, the role of Islam in regional affairs and human rights abuses in the North Caucasus. Today, she works for the Voice of America (VOA).

Nguyen Van Hai, commonly known by his pen name Dieu Cay, spent six years in a Vietnamese prison on politically motivated charges. His blog addressed human rights and corruption in Vietnam, including sensitive topics like land rights, religious freedom and Vietnam’s policy toward China. He now lives in Los Angeles.

Simegnish “Lily” Mengesha, from Ethiopia, advocated for a free press. Mengesha was harassed and detained after she criticized the arrest of the independent Zone 9 bloggers. Her reporting also exposed the suffering of Ethiopian child brides. After enduring increased intimidation and surveillance, she left Ethiopia in July 2014 and now works at the National Endowment for Democracy.

Obama said the United States regularly engages other governments on press freedom. The president added that “being able to express yourself and your conscience without danger is a human right, a universal right, and ultimately makes the world better and stronger when individual conscience and a press that is free is allowed to function.”

My comment on the post is below

I am a Nigerian Journalist trained in the US and lived there 30 yrs. Journalists are not persecuted in Nigeria. This country has more reporters than Journalists and the practice of Mass Communications seems to be confused with JOURNALISM. Nigerian based reporters do not like appearing on foreign cable networks for the fear of the government. I am the only one that does that on any subject, terrorism, ebola, etc. Why are they afraid. Freedom of the press like the first amendment of the US constitution is in the 1999 Nigerian constitution. I appear on BBC, RT, CNN, FOXnews, CTV name it but my colleagues here claim fear. Last year I interviewed a politician who was accused of the murder of the attorney general. A simple question I asked Omisore, he sent a message to me thru his media ppl that I was a damn good Journalist who had done her homework. Omisore's intv with me is on Soundcloud.com/HNNAfrica. Yes there are some countries that even persecute BLOGGERS but know the laws and do your work. Thank u Mr Obama for the reflection on our work.

#HNNMedia Stand up to Media Empire and #Autism says #Russian Media figure (@AnowRT)

I lived 30 year in the USA, my son now 28 was born with autism and I am a Journalist and Pharmacist. Is this a coincidence of sorts? Anissa got this one right as she always does. Kerry is ranting about not having a Russian or foreign country equivalent of media outlets abroad. But there is Voice of America and more. CNN even has it's different language channels in many countries. I've been on her show "In The Now" once during a Boko Haram attack in Baga.

Russian Insider reports:

Corporate media and Autism. Watch the video and where Secretary Kerry comes in. Amazing! Anissa wrote on her Facebook page:
"Wow! So many people donating to take a stand against corporate media and John Kerry. Too generous! Remember it's not about the money-a dollar here, a dollar there. The important thing is to spread the word. Thank you all who have joined the cause!"

Read my story of Autism here. Very compelling. I love people giving to Autism research. Good job Anissa!
