#HNNWomen Why Survivors of Wartime #RAPE in #Africa are NEVER going to be silenced #HNNTerror

Media preview

First they shot her husband.
Then the soldiers killed her two sons, ages 5 and 7. When the uniformed men yanked her daughter from her hands next, Mary didn’t think it could get any worse.

Mary and her family were members of the Nuer tribe in South Sudan, caught up in a vicious power struggle between the new country’s President Salva Kiir, a member of the Dinka tribe, and his Vice President, Riek Machar, a Nuer. Their war, fought largely along ethnic lines, has turned the northern part of the country into a wasteland. At least 50,000 people have been killed, according to the U.N., nearly 4 million face famine, and another 2.2 million have fled their homes, recounting tales of civilian slaughter, gratuitous torture and even forced cannibalism. Mary and her family were among the tens of thousands of civilians seeking refuge at a U.N. peacekeeping base in the northern city of Bentiu when they ran into Kiir’s forces on the road in June 2014.

The 27-year-old recounts what occurred next distantly, as if she were explaining something that happened to someone else. The soldiers told Mary that they considered the Nuers in the camps to be rebels, and that they killed her sons because they couldn’t risk letting them grow up to be fighters. “We don’t kill the women and the girls,” the soldiers told Mary. “They said they would only rape us. As if rape were different than death,” says Mary, speaking in a safe house in neighboring Uganda run by Make Way Partners, an American Christian organization that provides housing, medical care and schooling for South Sudanese orphans and victims of human trafficking. After the soldiers killed her husband and sons, five of them held her down and forced her to watch as three others raped her 10-year-old daughter. Her name was Nyalaat. When the men were done, Mary says, “I couldn’t even see my little girl anymore. I could only see blood.” Then the men took turns with Mary. Nyalaat died a few hours later. “I wanted to die too.”

Instead, Mary made it to a U.N. camp for civilians displaced by war. The conflict raged on, and soldiers—she’s not even sure from which army—were able to slip in to the camp through gaps in the fence and rape whichever women they could catch. “It happened to all of us: little girls, grandmothers. They didn’t care.” The rules were simple, says Mary, who asked that her full name not be used. “If you calm down when they are raping you, they won’t beat you. But if you resist, they will beat you, even so much to use the gun in you.”

Rape in war is as old as war itself. But the intimate nature of sexual assault means that the horrors often go undocumented, sanitized out of history books and glossed over in news accounts that focus on casualties and refugee numbers. Yet that mass rape is so common in wartime only makes it more corrosive. It spreads disease. Its stigma destroys families and breaks down society. It leaves unwanted children who serve as constant reminders of the worst day of their mother’s life. “Rape is a weapon even more powerful than a bomb or a bullet,” says Jeanna Mukuninwa, a 28-year-old woman from Shabunda, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “At least with a bullet, you die. But if you have been raped, you appear to the community like someone who is cursed. After rape, no one will talk to you; no man will see you. It’s a living death.”

#HNNWomen Why the #Buhari sisters are HAPPY for Zahra Indimi.

#HNNWomen Why Blogger's sister @LauraIkeji inspires me #HNNPersonality

#HNNWomen As much I beefed @officiallindaikeji in the past and let things go, here's the Piaget of Nigeria. Piaget is the name I call @solangeknowles who is @beyonce's sister. That's Solange's middle name.  This young lady inspires me. @lauraIkeji is her sister's best Publicist. Her photo here has 3 points. The t-shirt, car and  herself. Hi, Im Laura, my sister blogs all day, she's got a new Range Rover Keeping it all real. She's no tag along which is something they call Piaget who now has a first-time #grammy nomination aka tagging to Bey. Laura Ikeji I believe has her own fashion business and blog and blows her sister's trumpet before someone blows it for them. Keep doing your thing Laura. Others ladies better follow suit.  Empty Barrels make the most money--#KOOQuotes««« Explore on Twitter "If you don't blow your trumpet. #HNNWomen Why @Julianaolayode's #ToyoBaby message is for every YOUNG LADY in 2017

This young lady @OlayodeJuliana #toyobaby is NOT a fast rising #Nollywood actress. That title belongs to @DayoAmusa who is still aspiring as a matter of fact. Nigerians and their showbiz industry classifies entertainers poorly. Toyo is in fact a TOP #Nollywood actress and bloggers should start using that title and cut the shit. She recently spoke out about sexual purity which many of you Instagram hoes have no clue about. I'm 52 and celibate since 42yo. In 2006, I told Radio Nigeria OAP Tolu Sanyaolu on air that I was never gonna have sex again till I get married. Who says that in the media or to a magazine (Global Excellence 7yr celibacy exclusive 2013) that they have not had sex in 10 years? Some ppl blame mine on #FGM which I was a victim of as a kid.

Yes I spoke out unlike you fake ass females who hide your shame instead of freeing yourselves. Bitch please (#hnnmbok) I had sex before then, so why stop midlife. Having children and not married (See why @tvcconnect interview YouTube) was my choice but Toyo told us that virginity is sacred and not #oldskool like some people have labeled her. Emulate her teachings and encourage your daughters not to have casual sex and wait to develop a good relationship after 18yo. This was why I ripped @tokemakinwa's video. I have no daughters. The rest is left to you. Plenty of dirty dicks await them. Avoid it! Kudos to Toyo's message

The humble Toyo reached out and said thank you. Dynamic gal!

#HNNWomen Still don't know who Diamond is pregnant for, but we are waiting on the BABY!!

#HNNWomen Former bread girl Olajumoke is finally raking in the "bread" aka money

#HNNWomen Mercy Johnson-Okojie needs to lose her excessive HIPS #HNNShowbiz

Mercy Johnson is one of those Nollywood actors who can classically act. Some of them over there have no talent. Her new shots show a super gown  and some awesome makeup to go with her chocolate dream skin. Make up on deck and those earrings gotta be one auctioned off late Princess Diana's collection.

Those hips are however bulging too much though. She needs some side push ups that will tuck it in more. Pls tell me that she's not wearing waist trainers. Overall she's in tip top shape as compared to many fat ass ones in that industry.

#HNNSports Ana Ivanovic RETIRES from Tennis at 29yo.

Media preview

Ana Ivanovic retires from tennis at age 29 due to injuries, ending a career in which she was ranked No. 1 in 2008. "It's been well-known that I've been hampered by injuries. ... I can only play if I can perform up to my own high standards and I can no longer do that," she said. "So it's time to move on."

Ivanovic became a UNICEF national ambassador for Serbia in 2007 and says that position will figure in her plans.

"I will become an ambassador of sport and healthy life. I will also explore opportunities in business, beauty and fashion among other endeavors," she said on her Facebook page. "I will also have more time for my philanthropic activities with my work with UNICEF. I've lived my dreams and I really hope to help others do so as well."

#HNN2016 How my #FGM message became #1 in a Twitter campaign #16DaysofActivism

Proud to get this DM from #28TooMany a UK charity dedicated to ending female genital mutilation on the #16daysofactivism campaign that just ended. Their Director Emma contacted me that my message got more impressions on Twitter than any other. #Clitorislivesmatter was a creative hashtag I used to educate the world on why we should ban #FGM.

#HNNWomen Proud to get this DM from #28TooMany a UK charity dedicated to ending female genital mutilation on the #16daysofactivism campaign that just ended. Their Director Emma contacted me yesterday that my message got more impressions on Twitter than any other. #Clitorislivesmatter was a creative hashtag I used to educate the world on why we should ban #FGM. Many #Nigerian women cannot speak about it. It is embarrassing and painful. I was a victim and thus the reason I'm not too interested in sex for a decade and use sex toys. They snip part of your clitoris to prevent u from enjoying sex or not to be promiscuous. Many of my female fans reading this are victims who reach out in the in the inbox. This practice is very common in Western #Nigeria and least common in Eastern Nigeria #HNNImpact SEE THE NEXT POST FOR THE MESSAGE THAT GOT THE MOST ATTENTION WORLDWIDE! #hnnbigthingspoppin

#WomensHistoryMonth Why more Nigerian women need to LEARN from me not get JEALOUS!

Nigerian women IN NIGERIA are always so jealous of everything about me. Is it because of their low self esteem? One girl wearing South American hair glued to her head just called me a SHE GOAT. Does she know what Ogufe hair looks like? A Nigerian man on FB called me from the UK just to tell me that I am what U ladies need. The self esteem is so bad here he said. Why are the ladies here at home so desperate to BE? Why are u wearing false eyelashes, breast implants and Brazillian hair? Have u ever asked the Brazllian chics what hair they wear? It's def not Nigerian. Even Lil Wayne says he's tougher than NIGERIAN hair in A-Milli.

>>I wear wigs and pull them right off at the end of the day. I don't have long hair, never did.
>>I Live a very high profile public life. I make noise all day and get shyt done. See Toronto Police comments below.
>>I'm not married and never been>>My choice. I'm not having domestic abuse. I own glocks. My name is still my fathers name so quit telling me Im "attaching" to my father's name".
>>Madam Governor is my nickname. I aint running yet. Is that too intimidating? I'm not even a politician yet, just a strategist and when I run, u have no choice on the ballot!
>>Stop being jealous. Now TYPE "I love Kemi Madam Governor" hit ENTER and then click the WIG and watch what happens.

WAKE UP LADIES, STOP BEING HOES AND HOOKERS. WE ARE PAST THAT! LEARN POSITIVITY from me and stopped getting commanded by men. Gender equality is the order of my day!

#WomensHistoryMonth Why Women are now fighting in WAR in #America #HNNWomen

WOMEN CAN NOW GO TO WAR IN AMERICA: I watched a Live video 1/24/13 of US Secretary of Defense Panetta formally announcing the end of women serving in combat ban. OMG! Women can now fight in the US Army. What a man can do, a woman can. Nigerian women are already eligible to fight in combat. #Bravo to Obamarama.

#WomensHistoryMonth Why #Nigerian FEMALE teachers are not allowed to wear Trousers (Pants) #HNNwomen

NIGERIAN FEMALE TEACHERS CANNOT WEAR PANTS: Going by this latest development out of Kogi state, any female teacher caught wearing trousers would face disciplinary actions from the State government. Nigeria is a backward country freaking banning teachers in Kogi from wearing Pants as we call it in America. Mrs Hillary Clinton should come save this state. A first lady and secretary of state that wore pants thruout her tenure.

#We are a FAILED Country that should and may never progress!

#HNNWomen SEND ME PHOTOS of your ABUSIVE partner so we can Profile him like a CRIMINAL he is.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Lord thank u, I love being SINGLE and still Happy without some man to tie me down and later kill me. All these women in Nigeria getting beaten and silent about it! When they die we see their pics on social media and their entire lives dragged thru the mud in Facebook pictures. Do you need to be married to have money, kids and a good life? I was Oprah Winfrey's intern at WJZ-TV | CBS Baltimore in the 80's and looking at my mentor today, over 60yo and not married while happy with Stedman Graham. Every woman should have a special man in their lives and I repeat "Special" who you can lean on as equals. Gender equality is important this #WomensHistoryMonth of March 2015. Learn more about my history. It may save your lives. My man and I will be equals in everything. Marriage is the 4th biggest LIE to mankind. It is not a sacred institution. It is a CURSED ONE!

My Motivational Speaking Social Media Tour begins soon. I am traveling to 15 African countries and 30 cities soon. To join my staff, send your resumes to hnnafricanews@yahoo.com. I will only HIRE positive ppl who are active on my pages.

A google search will rank them high and they will be seen by their employers, friends and associates, that way you can ruin their lives too. An eye for an eye.

Cheers and thank u for taking part in all discussions. Those blocked will be unblocked in 30 days, Learn to comment without being a bully. Go to Twitter@HNNAfrica to beg me in a tweet. Read the terms of using my page under NOTES! Then I will consider unblocking u. I hate negative ppl in my midst.

#HNNOpinion #IWD2015 Why I was NOT on the list of 100 Most Influential Nigerian Women #HNNwomen

Someone just called me to ask why I'm not on the list of Most influential Nigerian Women in Nigeria on YNaija? Why should I be? A youth magazine financed from Ayo Fayose's first governorship administration looting proceeds. I don't even like a magazine who told me Shame on me when I questioned why Tiwa Savage was marrying a man with another family. A year after, Tiwa's marriage crashed, I was right, they kept quiet. Now she has patched up her marriage. Always Focus on the bigger picture. When someone gets an award from a U.S. President, a Governor, a Mayor and accolades from the police department of the 4th largest city in North America #Toronto at their deportation, comes home and called one of the 3 most influential people on social media in AFRICA and the only female nominee and only NIGERIAN plus one of two women top nominees, those are the lists I want recognized on. The Toronto sun called my Twitter handle @snitchlady one of the top 10 Crimefighting handles in Canada.

Where are these women on the streets? Are they empowering the Akara, moinmoin or Palm oil sellers, rallying under the bridges, feeding kids on the streets like me?

I saw the list. Status does not make u an INFLUENCER! Last night we were celebrated again by the #SMAA. MY REAL HARD WORK ON THE STREETS IS ALL THAT MATTERS TO ME not bogus lists or that Broad awards nightmare last year asking me for N100,000 for an award. Heard they buy them here.

#HNNWomen #HappyInternationalWomensDay #Duke University Student OUTED as #Porn star?

A Duke University student, who was recently outed as a porn star, said she does the work to pay tuition. Belle Knox told Playboy if Duke were cheaper, she wouldn't have done porn at all. "If Duke had given me the proper financial resources, I wouldn't have done porn. They have nobody to blame for the scandal but themselves." Read more >>http://bit.ly/1fLBlJG
