2012 BET Awards: Another Tie in the Best International Act for Africa. Sarkodie and Wizkid

History repeated itself last nite as the 2012 Best International act at the BET Awards went once again to TWO artists. Ghana's Sarkodie (right) and Nigeria's pop teen sensation WizKid on the left. The BET award for the Best International Act for Africa took a wild turn last year 2011 when it was tied for the first time in history in favour of two Nigerian artists D'Banj now a G.O.O.D Music artist and TuFace Idibia. Both picked up trophies and it is well known that they are two of Nigeria's BEST! All these guys are going to end up Grammy material soon.

Above are both men on the red carpet. The internet has been really buzzing about them especially tonite when the BET awards actually aired in Africa. Check out some of the most famous videos WizKid  has. WizKid from Nigeria is definitely the African Bieber and you know when he shows up at these venues all over the U.K and North America. He is on his way to Toronto this Summer. As u can see, I tweeted to BET to have that category be televised. I will personally e-mail Stephen Hill.

Wiz Khalifa - Black and Yellow - AFRICAN REMIX!!!

The Komolafe brothers have done it again with their version of Wiz's song. You don't have to be a real Nigerian to understand this one. The concept of Black girls and yellow ones when Nigerian women bleach...and basically when darker women try to get fairer. Their hip-hop and R&B parody YouTube channel has gotten them 3-5 million hits per video. Extremely viral. lol.

CNN reports " Nigeria's hip-hop industry is making money on the stage in Africa rather than America."

This is my country and as I told you we are raking in the dollars and endorsements as well as all the MTV Africa awards which the Nigerians swept last year.

As most of you know, I am a humble citizen of the U.S , Canada and Nigeria....Born, grewup and naturalized in all three! LOL! This song was a #1 hit in 2006. Leave a comment. The track is called "Escalade" the car. It's about a chic who wants a rich guy who has a car but Dare pronounced "Da-ray" CAN'T DRIVE!!! LOL!

SEUN KUTI ROCKS THE NOBEL CONCERT.

Nigerian artist Seun Kuti gives a high energy performance at the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert. Seun is the son of Fela Kuti, Nigeria's music legend. Seun has been on the cover of Eye Weekly mgazine in Toronto, comes here every single Summer since 2007 that I've been here. I had an opportunity to talk to him in Nigeria at the ThisDay Music Festival in 2006 above. Below is saxophonist Fagbemi at the TDF who also played for his legendary late father. Watch for fagbemi on the CNN video dressed like some of the trumpeteers.

His debut album The Dusty Foot Philosopher, which was released in 2005 to critical acclaim won the Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year in 2006, and was nominated for the inaugural Polaris Music Prize. It also won the BBC Radio 3 Award for World Music in the newcomer category for 2007.

The Dusty Foot Philosopher will be re-released and re-packaged as a "Deluxe Edition" featuring new mixes and a bonus DVD in the United States (and various international territories) by the emerging media company and record label iM (Interdependent Media, Inc.) in 2008.

He is currently working on his new album Troubadour and it is set for release in early 2009 One of his singles, ABC's is in the videogame Madden NFL 09.
