In Lisa's words, "I want to give back to the world, what the world has given to me."

ALBUM RELEASE

Late rapper Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC fame will have her final solo album released in Jan 2009 through Mass Appeal Entertainment.

The 12-track project, titled “Eye-Legacy,” will feature collaborations with Miss Elliot, Chamillionaire, Lil Mama, and Bobby Valentino.

The first single, “Let’s Just Do It,” featuring Missy.

The songs on “Eye-Legacy” featuring unreleased vocals from Lopes.

Previously, the TLC star released a solo album, Supernova, that was only released in Europe and a failed union with Death Row as a solo artist–under the name N.I.N.A.–resulted in no material being released.

“We hope people understand the message in Lisa’s music and appreciate her as not just a member of TLC, but as a solo artist as well. This album is Left Eye’s musical gift to her fans and adds to the beauty of her legacy,” the Lopes family commented in a statement.

The fiery rapper long hoped for a solo career as successful as her her collaborative work with TLC had become. At one point Lopes even challenged her group mates, T-Boz and Chili, to all release solo albums the same day and to determine the winner by album sales.

Lopes died in April of 2002 in Honduras during a car accident. She was only 31. A documentary on her last days wad produced by VH1 titled “The Last Days of Left Eye.”—LaTisha Robbins XXL Mag.com

FAREWELL TO TUPAC FOUNDATION'S TRE' MAXIE!

Tre along with his mom and sister at a TASF awards ceremony in 2005

Miss my pals especially Carlos!

Tre Maxie of the TuPac Foundation writes......

"Kemi, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with a program called Powerful Schools chaired by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation & Microsoft staff. The program provides arts, literacy, after school classes, and resources to the poorest schools in Seattle. I will serve as Executive Director for at least a year in Seattle, while still serving on the Tupac Foundation board and continuing to support and bring resources to the Foundation. In fact, part of the opportunity involves creating & securing additional resources for the Tupac Foundation.

My departure date from Atlanta is July 28, 2008. My email will remain the same and I will keep my Atlanta cell phone. Please keep me and the Tupac Foundation in your prayers and thoughts. In fact, your invited to pray every Monday at 4p specifically for us!!! My relationships with each of you will remain strong and I will keep in contact with you all. I have lived in Atlanta since I came here to attend Morehouse College, so Atlanta will always be forever connected to my heart. I will be back and forth from time to time as well. In addition, if you ever visit the Pacific Northwest look me up. Below are a few pictures of Seattle. By the way, I attended jr and part of high school in the area so I'm quite familiar with it.

For more info on Powerful Schools watch the YouTube video above or visit www.powerfulschools.org. Instead of going away gifts, please send a donation to the Tupac Foundation by visiting www.TASF.org. Any amount you give will be greatly appreciated."

Let's continue meaningful work!

Good Luck Tre' We will MISS YOU and definitely keep in touch!!! Kemi @ mediakemi@rogers.com

Hear what the kids are saying about theTupac Foundation Arts Camp.

Some of you remember me hosting the 2005 Oscar Red Carpet part for TuPac's nomination for his documentary "Ressurection." I got very close to the Shakur family, Set his sister, Afeni his mom and Tre Maxie the head of the Tupac Foundation. Yvette Bacote , Mrs Shakur's right hand Super Assistant sent me this newly uploaded videos about what the kids are saying about the Camp. Oakland Leadership & Arts Camp was held at the Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center from June 16th thru June 27th from 1pm - 4pm.

On June 28 showing off all that the students learned during the camp. It was a great success! Family & Friends Day was held at & sponsored by Youth Uprising. There were approximately 100 people in attendance. Guests were served barbeque food and refreshments. $155 was collected in donations. Students performed and received Pac's Kids/Family Tree Certificates of Completion. In addition, Youth Uprising was given a 2Pac Deluxe Plaque on behalf of Mrs. Shakur-Davis and TASF.

These camps began in Atlanta and have moved to other U.S cities. Great job, Afeni, Yvette and Tre. Visit the Tupac Foundation site here.
