MARY J. BLIGE and TYLER PERRY will be honoured at the second annual BET Honours. The R&B singer and the filmmaker are just two of the stars set to be recognised at the event - they will be joined by Magic Johnson, dance pioneer Judith Jamison, style guru B. Smith and South Carolina Congressman James E. Clyburn next month (Jan09).The awards, which will air on 9 February (09), are part of the festivities for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama - BET is also putting on its first inaugural ball which will air on the same day (20Jan09).
Congrats to them both! I may plan to cover that show.
