#HNNHealth #HNNEducation SCHOOLS CLOSED! Ohio school district staffer, 2 students from Texas school on Amber Vinson FLIGHT

The NewYork Post is reporting several schools in Ohio and Texas were closed Thursday amid concerns that some of their students flew on the same Frontier Airlines plane as a Dallas nurse later diagnosed with Ebola.

A Central Texas school district has temporarily closed three of its campuses because two of its students traveled on the same Cleveland-to-Dallas flight as Amber Vinson, 29, according to reports.

The Belton Independent School District campuses and some school buses will be disinfected Thursday. The superintendent announced the closures of North Belton Middle School, Sparta Elementary and the Belton Early Childhood School. The students’ parents are keeping them home voluntarily for 21 days.

In Ohio, Solon Middle School and Parkside Elementary School are closed because a staff member from the middle school was on the plane that Vinson had flown on, but not on the same flight.

Ohio officials say that the risk of contracting Ebola in the state is slim and said Vinson was showing no symptoms during her visit.

In a statement, Belton Superintendent Susan Kincannon said Wednesday: “Late tonight, I learned that officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are re-evaluating the health risk to some passengers on Frontier Airlines Flight #1143 from Cleveland to Dallas. At this time, we do not know if this will include either of the two Belton ISD students who traveled on the flight. … I’m frustrated that we didn’t learn until late tonight that the CDC was re-evaluating the health risk. The health and safety of our students is my first priority.”

Vinson flew Monday from Cleveland to Dallas.

Ebola patients aren’t considered contagious until they show symptoms. The CDC director says it’s unlikely that others on the plane were at risk because Vinson wasn’t vomiting or bleeding.

Here in Nigeria, our outbreak was over the summer holidays but we still closed school entire month of September. The kids just went back Oct 8th last week. Here is an audio of what you need to tell your kids.
