#IstandwithAhmed trended on twitter yesterday and many of us were wondering what it was all about. Ahmed Mohammed was a 14yo who built a homemade clock for a school project and bought it to class only to have the teacher call the cops to arrest him because they thought it was a bomb. Who are these teachers with no real training about the subjects they teach?
By the end of the day, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, President Obama and many celebrities were inviting him to their headquarters, White House and all. It is a true shame that Islamophobia and anti-muslim bigotry has turned some non muslims into this. Anyway this is my #HNNKid of the week. He says he will transfer away to another school. Good for him.
