Is Ivanka Trump the NEXT World Bank President?

Ivanka Trump and former president of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim

President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, will help select a candidate to run the World Bank, a White House official has confirmed.

In a statement, the White House said Treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney "have asked Ivanka Trump to help manage the US nomination process as she's worked closely with the World Bank's leadership for the past two years".

The statement denied the president's daughter was under consideration for the role after the Financial Times said Ms Trump's name had been floated as a possible candidate.

Ms Trump has worked with the World Bank and the outgoing president, Jim Yong Kim, over the past two years, jointly launching a $1.6bn ($1.25bn) women's entrepreneurship fund.

She's very powerful these days. children of world leaders are picking prominent roles in government these days. Eduardo Bolsonaro hailed my tweet yesterday after I congratulated Brazil of the arrest of Cesare Battisti in Bolivia.

Why is The Nigerian government announcing a conversation between Buhari and Trump? #HNNGov

Nigerians are not impressed with this "Africa Day" development. President Trump is said to be talking to South Africa's Zuma and Nigeria's Buhari this afternoon. The health issue with Buhari still lingers and Nigerians are still waiting to hear what they talked about but won't get to hear their voices, something that's not done anyway so why announce to us with such fanfare?

#BREAKING (Photos) Nothing WRONG with James Ibori Thanksgiving reception #HNNGov

The thanksgiving service in honour of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, who recently returned to Nigeria after serving a jail term in London for money laundering took place at the First Baptist Church, Oghara, Delta State.

The service which started at about 10am was attended by several traditional rulers across the state including the Ovie of Oghara, Ovie of Ughelli, Ovie of Evwreni among others.

Immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Police Affairs Minister and his wife, Alaowie and Mrs Broderick Bozimo, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Mr Ovuozourie Macaulay, Chief Solomon Fukekeme, Senator Patrick Osakwe and Mr Festus Ovie Agas, among others.

Goes to show you that people love their own regardless of their past misgivings. Who would think Fayose will be re-elected again and given a second chance to improve Ekiti state? I think Ibori has been corrected. He went to a correctional institution in the UK. If it were in Nigeria, he may not see a day in jail. I'm for second chances. Move on Ibori. Happy Thanksgiving!

Nigerian Feds recover another $151M, so what happens to these monies and the recession? #HNNMoney

Federal Government said it recovered another $151m and N8bn looted funds from three sources through whistle-blowers.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, said actionable information given by whistle-blowers to the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation led to the recovery of the looted fund.

He said the looted funds do not include the $9.2m in cash allegedly owned by a former Group Managing Director of the NNPC, also a dividend of the whistle-blower policy.

He said, “The biggest amount of $136.7m was recovered from an account in a commercial bank, where the money was kept under an apparently fake
account name.

“This was followed by N7bn and $15m from another person and N1bn from yet another.”

The minister reiterated the position of government that there was a primitive and mindless looting of the national treasury under the last administration.

He said the whistle-blower policy has started yielding fruit, few months after its adoption by the government.

He said, “The whistle-blower policy is barely two months old and Nigerians have started feeling its impact, how a few people squirrelled away public funds.

“It is doubtful if any economy in the world will not feel the impact of such mind-boggling looting of the treasury as was experienced in Nigeria.

“Yet whatever has been recovered so far, including the $9.2m by the EFCC, is just a tip of the iceberg.”

The minister appealed to Nigerians with useful information on looted funds to continue to provide the authorities with such information, saying confidentiality will be maintained with regards to the source of the information.

He also reminded Nigerians of the financial reward aspect of the policy. “If there is a voluntary return of stolen or concealed public funds or assets on the account of the information provided, the whistle blower may be entitled to anywhere between 2.5 per cent (Minimum) and 5.0 per cent (Maximum) of the total amount recovered.”

Americans in for HELL as Putin and Trump are SOLID BFF's #HNNGov

Image result for Trump and putin

President-elect Donald Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, calling him “very smart” and lauding his “great move” not to retaliate against the U.S. over sanctions intended to punish the Kremlin for launching cyberattacks targeting the American electoral system.

“Great move on delay (by V. Putin) – I always knew he was very smart!” Trump wrote Friday afternoon on Twitter, pinning the post to the top of his account so that it would remain above any subsequent posts. The president-elect’s post was retweeted by the account of the Russian Embassy in Washington.

@RealDonaldTrump RIPS #FidelCastro in an #RIP #HNNGov

Trump tweeted and exclamation tweet.

"Fidel Castro is dead!"

He further called Castro a brutal dictator. Mr Trump, who takes office in January, said he hoped Cubans could move towards a freer future.

Castro came to power in 1959 and ushered in a Communist revolution. He defied the US for decades, surviving many assassination plots.

Supporters said he returned Cuba to the people. Critics called him a dictator.

#HNNGov Why #NnamdiKanu MAY get the DEATH PENALTY from #Buhari government.

Wake up #Biafra 95% chance Nnamdi Kanu is going to RECEIVE a DEATH SENTENCE for treason and terrorism from the Nigerian government after his trial. His followers have done the wrong thing all along. Totally #DISLOYAL and made his case worse! Many actually think they are loyal. Sit your ass on social media crying over the Amnesty International report. Nnamdi next. Call me whatever names you want, crackhead, ashawo, this and that, he's not my brother nor YOURS! Biafrans (not Igbos) are the most disloyal fools I've ever met.

I told u March 2016 that IPOB will be declared a terror group end of year, it happened. Kanu and company got terror charges tagged on. Dictator King B will get the US and British to add IPOB to terror lists. Trump cares less about Biafra. He's too busy preventing the separation of Amerca NOT Nigeria. Many of you even missed a crucial feature about IPOB in Newsweek. You made international news. My colleague Conor wrote the article. All that one FFK is saying is just to tell you Kanu is more intelligent than you. I'm all for him fleeing this country fast.

You his followers the brainwashed ones are the problem that will suffer the wrath. Save this status dumbass illiterates. I can't believe I even aligned with this movement a year ago November 2015. Wanna fight me, come to Twitter where I have 68.3K followers in real time. I don't spend time here much anymore. Facebook slows down my laptop.

Obama to transfer @Potus Twitter handle to 45th President on January 20th 2017 #HNNGov

Media preview

The White House says @POTUS Twitter handle will be made available to the 45th President of the U.S. on January 20, 2017. It will be blank with no tweets and Obama's tweets will be archived for his 8 years there. Twitter launched 2006 and he won 2008 and so that makes him the first social media president. Other accounts will be archived too. So lets assume Michelle's handle will be @Flotus44. I don't know about Facebook. I guess everyone keeps that by their names. Michelle ain't updated hers in 3 years! SMH.

Why the NBA Lawyers Protesting in #Abuja are Certified #Morons #HNNGov

Nnamdi Kanu and Sambo Dasuki even Fani-Kayode all have pending trials and bail to go with it. The executive branch of the government tampered with the judiciary and did not let those folks have their freedom while waiting for their trials. These lawyers should have protested then, NOT NOW! It took the attack of these judges for alleged corruption to get these morons to come out--KOO

GRAPHIC: Truly Despicable as Police Van rams into protesters at US Embassy in #Phillipines #HNNGov

Protesters display placards after forcing their way to the gates of the US embassy in Manila

I was speechless to see this act. Left wingers in Manila were protesting outside the American embassy while riot police were well stationed in strategic places when all of a sudden, a police van started ramming into the protesters hurting several. One man was visibly seen under the tires of the van crushed. Three students were taken to the hospital. I'm sure there will be more. This video may be graphic for some of my readers. Terrible!--KOO

Why aren't the proper authorities investigating all this waste of money and resources? Where is the EFCC and the ICPC? Now comes word from suspended lawmaker Abdul Jibrin that our members of the House of Representatives even had parties with prostitutes in their so call guest houses and residences in Abuja. The ethics of this position has now sunken to a new low. Check out today's tweets below.

#HNNGov #BREAKING Hackers LEAK Michelle Obama (@Flotus) PASSPORT! #HNNTech

Michelle Obama

This is hackers season and the election galore has made it worse. A low level White House staffer in charge of Michelle's movement was hacked leaking her schedule and even her passport. Ian Mellul also does some advance work for the Hillary campaign and some of Clinton's schedules were leaked. This to me fell into the wrong hands no matter how you see it. Security breach of the worst kind. Government computers are so vunerable too these days.

The hacker wrote in an email to the NY Post:

“The leaked files show the security level of our government. If terrorists hack emails of White House Office staff and get such sensitive information we will see the fall of our country.”

The hacker adds, “We hope you will tell the people about this criminal negligence of White House Office staffers.”

Terrible!

President Barack Obama used a pseudonym when communicating with then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by email, while her IT company referred to her email deleting as a “cover-up”, new FBI documents reveal.

The heavily-redacted documents, almost 200 pages, include summaries of interviews with senior Clinton aides concerning the private email server, and brings to light details previously unknown.

Bad Logistics at the @NGRPresident Buhari Presidential Media Chat 2015 #HNNGov

Image result for presidential media chat buhari

As you all know, Nigeria's President has had only one TV Presidential media chat since he assumed office. Many of us in the media felt he would have another one by February 2016 but alas there was none. There were definitely some bad logistics in that December one.

During the last week of December 2015, The Nigerian Presidency announced a Presidential Media Chat with a 24-hour notice. Nigerians were excited as many had serious questions for the President Muhammadu Buhari. This chat was hashtagged #PresidentialMediaChat #PMBMediachat and was hosted and led by Channels TV’s General manager Kayode Akintemi along with journalists from three other media houses namely an online newspaper, a regular newspaper and a broadcast conglomerate.

Earlier that night I tweeted my followers stating that these media chats are a waste of time without Sahara Reporters, #HNNAfrica, The Cable NG and Breaking Times. Sahara then took my tweet and pinned it for some hours asking their followers to retweet if they agreed and like if they did not. The retweets won.

The fact remains that social media is the hub powering such events these days. People were watching their president address the nation through Journalists asking questions and also receiving feedback from home audiences. This was not a call in show. People were asked to tweet Buhari their questions by using the hashtag  #AskBuhari. So why wasn’t a panel of online newsrooms included? I have always seen this as a bad logistic in the media chats even in the last administration with President Goodluck Jonathan. Online newsrooms are the future of social media.

The other three journalists in the Akintemi led panel had individual twitter handles with less than 33 followers and not worth following as they did not tweet news to their audiences. Many of we online newsroom have also been snubbed at award shows honouring media like the Nigerian Media Merit awards and others. People hardly buy newspapers anymore, they read most of them online and they interact on the top two investigative ones #HNNAfrica and Sahara Reporters.

#HNNAfrica was recently featured in the December 21st -27th I-trends report as the 9th of the top 10 influencers on Twitter globally. During the media chat, Akintemi told  audiences to tweet their questions to @ChannelsTV in addition to the #AskBuhari hashtag so that Channels staff  could pull the questions out of Twitter and thus my reason for calling it sponsored by Channels. In the past it used to be NTA’s Cyril Stober and others that led these panels. The use of social media by the society deserves more credible online newsrooms on the next media chat.

I shall put my own request in especially now that President Buhari urges more journalists to do more investigative journalism. Trust me we have more questions for him on issues around Nigeria. It’s time for half traditional media and the other half online media to take part in Presidential media chats.

What caused SHOUTING MATCH on the tarmac as Air Force One arrived in #China with Obama?

Reuters
HANGZHOU, China —Obama is in town for the G20 Summit. White House officials expect sharp words and the occasional elbow when an American president travels to China. But the reception that President Obama and his staff got when they arrived here Saturday afternoon was bruising, even by Chinese standards.

When Air Force One rolled to a stop, there was no staircase for Mr. Obama to disembark in view of the television cameras. Instead, he emerged from a rarely used door in the belly of the plane. It did not matter, since the reporters who normally cover the president’s movements were kept behind a rope under a wing, where they could not see him, prompting an angry exchange between a security official and White House aides.

When Susan E. Rice, the national security adviser, ducked under the rope, she was immediately stopped by a Chinese official, who heatedly challenged her. Asked later by a reporter what had happened, a diplomatic Ms. Rice said, “They did things that weren’t anticipated.”

The surprises continued at the West Lake State House, where Mr. Obama met President Xi Jinping. White House aides, protocol officers and Secret Service agents were stopped at a security checkpoint, according to a pool report. A shouting match, in Chinese, broke out over how many Americans should be allowed into the building before Mr. Obama’s arrival, and whether their names were on the proper lists.

#Zimbabwe's President Mugabe said he DIED and resurrected #HNNGov

Image result for robert Mugabe

Zimbabwe’s 92-year-old President Robert Mugabe arrived home Saturday after an overseas absence that led to rumors about a health crisis, joking to reporters that “Yes, I was dead.”

“It is true that I was dead,” the world’s oldest head of state said. “And I resurrected. As I always do.”

“Are we speaking to a ghost?” someone asked him.

“Once I get back to my country, I am real,” Mugabe said.

The president had not been seen since leaving a regional summit early on Tuesday. Flight data showed his plane went to Dubai after the original flight path indicated a course toward Asia. Mugabe has received treatment in Singapore in the past.

His spokesman had denied reports that Mugabe, the target of near-daily protests in recent weeks, was ill. The president told people Saturday he had been away attending to family matters. He later addressed a youth meeting at his ruling party’s headquarters.

His absence had raised the level of uncertainly in this southern African country already in economic and political turmoil. Frustration has been rising in Zimbabwe over a plummeting economy and allegations of government corruption.

Police on Thursday banned protests in the capital for two weeks, on the eve of a demonstration planned by a newly formed coalition of opposition groups.

Mugabe has been in power since 1980, and many in Zimbabwe have known no other leader in their lifetime. He has said he would run again in elections in 2018.

Recently, his wife, Grace, said Mugabe would rule from the grave.

Nigerians are confused about Fmr President Obasanjo's Twitter account #HNNGov

So many fake parody twitter accounts in the names of Nigerian politicians and Nigerians are believing these accounts. So laughable today I noticed Trendsmap Lagos even tagging another FAKE account for the former president. Obasanjo was in a closed door meeting earlier today with PDP leaders who are struggling in a leadership crisis so he's actually trending but he's NOT on twitter!

@ChiefObasanjo is not his twitter account.
