Nigerian Feds recover another $151M, so what happens to these monies and the recession? #HNNMoney

Image result for andrew yakubu loot

Federal Government said it recovered another $151m and N8bn looted funds from three sources through whistle-blowers.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, said actionable information given by whistle-blowers to the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation led to the recovery of the looted fund.

He said the looted funds do not include the $9.2m in cash allegedly owned by a former Group Managing Director of the NNPC, also a dividend of the whistle-blower policy.

He said, “The biggest amount of $136.7m was recovered from an account in a commercial bank, where the money was kept under an apparently fake
account name.

“This was followed by N7bn and $15m from another person and N1bn from yet another.”

The minister reiterated the position of government that there was a primitive and mindless looting of the national treasury under the last administration.

He said the whistle-blower policy has started yielding fruit, few months after its adoption by the government.

He said, “The whistle-blower policy is barely two months old and Nigerians have started feeling its impact, how a few people squirrelled away public funds.

“It is doubtful if any economy in the world will not feel the impact of such mind-boggling looting of the treasury as was experienced in Nigeria.

“Yet whatever has been recovered so far, including the $9.2m by the EFCC, is just a tip of the iceberg.”

The minister appealed to Nigerians with useful information on looted funds to continue to provide the authorities with such information, saying confidentiality will be maintained with regards to the source of the information.

He also reminded Nigerians of the financial reward aspect of the policy. “If there is a voluntary return of stolen or concealed public funds or assets on the account of the information provided, the whistle blower may be entitled to anywhere between 2.5 per cent (Minimum) and 5.0 per cent (Maximum) of the total amount recovered.”

#HNNMoney $480M Abacha loot heading to #Nigeria says @GarShehu #Nigerian govt spokesman

Image result for lots of dollars

The Nigerian Presidency said that they did not donate $500M to Hillary Clinton's campaign and that the $480M Abacha loot is the one that we should be getting instead from the USA. Abacha is a late former Head of State who allegedly stole trillions and hid them in several foreign banks, most recovered and Nigerians claim has been re-looted over and over by successive governments.

Garba Shehu the Presidential Spokesman tweeted stating that there has been a judgement made and also an extra $1M is coming from the Alamieyeseigha account of a late former governor who also looted his state's money. Hopefully some will be used to re-energize this recession and end it.

Check out MY WEALTH in #America 2003 and why Nigeria should STOP now #HNNMoney

Days ago, I asked Nigerian celebrities to STOP flaunting their wealth in an insecure country. I used a 2003 example in America that I posted on my Facebook page to illustrate this to Nigerians on Instablog9Ja but they still don't get it. They are busy cursing me out. I posted in the comments section on how thieves can carefully rob and possibly harm you in Nigeria. Some people still think I was flaunting this wealth in Nigeria or some footage "emerged". They forgot I posted this online 13 yrs ago. Times have changed.

hnnafrica Thx for posting Lillian@instablog9ja. LMAO. U know I never have fake secrets. I expose everything and everyone. However U forgot to post that the house picture was 2003. It was also posted on my Facebook page since 2013 as I was about to decorate my ATL house and the next picture arriving in NG counting my Christmas money on my way home to NG off to the Hausa change guys. This is not just Nigeria, this is a country with credible police and 911. Notice how nobody knows my location in that car, my Nigerian residence or the car Im even in. Maybe this will illustrate better to ppl what Im talking about. Dont announce ur car purchases and armored specifications E-Money. The moment they know your car is bullet proof they will find other means to steal it or harm u or follow u to your house, Laura Ikeji dont videotape inside ur sister's house because its a N600M banana island mansion and u are excited about her success. Every part of the house is online. Linda don't videotape equipment going into ur new LIS studio. Criminals have inside jobs to steal them. Don't help criminals advance. As Top female social media influencer in Africa, there is still one I won't use. Thousands are following me on Snapchat @hnnafrica and I have never used it because of its GPS requirements. I don't like my location known unless I tell u. People can trail u. I hope u folks understand the essence of why I carry 2 guns cleared by the NPF whenever I land in Nigeria. I shoot first, ask questions later. Have a nice weekend Lillian and everyone-KOO@HNNAfrica Twitter/FB

Someone HAS WON $487M in the US lottery #HNNMoney

A Powerball ticket sold in New Hampshire matched the winning numbers for the game's jackpot of $487 million in a drawing on Saturday that marked the eighth-biggest lottery prize ever in the United States, a lottery official said.

The numbers drawn in the 11 p.m. EDT drawing on Saturday were 11, 17, 21, 23, 32 and the Powerball number of 5, according to the Powerball website.

A single winning ticket was sold in New Hampshire, said North Dakota Lottery director Randy Miller, chair of the Powerball group. In some past drawings, the jackpot has been split between multiple winning tickets.

The single ticket from the latest drawing is worth the winner's choice of $487 million spread over 30 years or $341.7 million in a lump-sum payment, before federal taxes.

This was the fifth largest Powerball jackpot in the game's history.

The Powerball game is based on lottery tickets sold for $2 apiece. It is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Verizon buys Yahoo for $4.8B. Seems very small to me #HNNMoney

Most Nigerians don't even know anything about Verizon. It was my ISP and phone provider at one point in America. After a months-long bidding process and many layoffs, Yahoo has finally found a buyer. Verizon (which owns AOL, which owns TechCrunch) is officially acquiring Yahoo’s core business for $4.83 billion in cash, which includes Yahoo’s advertising, content, search and mobile activities.

“Just over a year ago we acquired AOL to enhance our strategy of providing a cross-screen connection for consumers, creators and advertisers,” Verizon Chairman and CEO Lowell McAdam said in the release. “The acquisition of Yahoo will put Verizon in a highly competitive position as a top global mobile media company, and help accelerate our revenue stream in digital advertising.”

Yahoo’s stakes in Alibaba and Yahoo Japan aren’t part of the acquisition. These stakes are worth tens of billions of dollars alone. As of Friday July 22nd, Yahoo’s 15 percent stake of Alibaba represented $31.2 billion, and its 34 percent of Yahoo Japan was worth $8.3 billion. Yahoo’s patent portfolio, which is worth around $1 billion, isn’t part of the sale either. Yahoo’s Sunnyvale headquarters are part of the acquisition, a source told TechCrunch.

Yahoo will be integrated with AOL, and Verizon EVP and President of the Product Innovation and New Businesses organization Marni Walden is going to lead the process. AOL CEO Tim Armstrong also mentions Marissa Mayer in his memo though. “For me personally, I’m planning to stay. I love Yahoo, and I believe in all of you. It’s important to me to see Yahoo into its next chapter,” Mayer wrote in an internal Yahoo memo. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2017.

“Yahoo is a company that has changed the world, and will continue to do so through this combination with Verizon and AOL. The sale of our operating business, which effectively separates our Asian asset equity stakes, is an important step in our plan to unlock shareholder value for Yahoo,” Marissa Mayer said in the release. “This transaction also sets up a great opportunity for Yahoo to build further distribution and accelerate our work in mobile, video, native advertising and social. Yahoo and AOL popularized the Internet, email, search and real-time media. It’s poetic to be joining forces with AOL and Verizon as we enter our next chapter focused on achieving scale on mobile. We have a terrific, loyal, experienced and quality team, and I couldn’t be prouder of our achievements to date, including building our new lines of business to $1.6 billion in GAAP revenue in 2015. I’m excited to extend our momentum through this transaction.”

Last year, Verizon acquired AOL for $4.4 billion to boost its media and advertising businesses. Verizon remains a giant telecom company, but the acquisitions of AOL and now Yahoo show that the company wants to diversify its revenue and operations.

Once the deal closes, Verizon wants to merge Yahoo and AOL to form a bigger advertising and media subsidiary. This way, AOL gets more scale and reaches enough internet and mobile users to become an advertising giant reaching hundreds of millions or even billions of people.

Marvin and Mae Acosta claimed their portion of the $1.6-billion jackpot, deciding to take the $327.8 million cash amount option before federal taxes, California lottery officials said. Femi Fani-Kayode said to be assaulted and injured in EFCC custody #HNNMoney

Today I learned that Former aviation minister and PDP Publicity man for the 2015 campaign Femi Fani Kayode was assaulted in EFCC custody by one Officer Kabiru. @realffk is said to be injured. More details to come. I was also notified that he's being housed in Ikoyi prison awaiting trial for alleged charges to do with the arms deal money that was used for former President Jonathan's campaign.

He made bail and new charges were added to it making them able to detain him further. Most Nigerians say that it's a political witch hunt and you cannot silence strong voices like Femi's. I hope he wasn't badly hurt. These EFCC officers carry assault rifles along with their police escorts. The EFCC is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Nigeria.

Late Nigerian Governor Audu (Who had a date with EFCC) hailed on Twitter by First Bank of Nigeria

If you wanna call it insult upon injury, First Bank of Nigeria tweets a minute of silence to the former late governor of Kogi state Abubakhar Audu. The notable bank says he was a "reputable"shareholder and mentioned him at the #FBNHoldingsAGM2016 event. Audu had an N11B EFCC case pending at the time of his death meaning that he was suspected of looting the treasury.Audu died on the night of his re-election in 2015. Below is the bogus tweet and I tweeted the bank right back. I've banked at FBN since 5yo if you must know.
