Two United Airlines Pilots arrested for suspected intoxication #HNNtravel

Two United Airlines pilots who have been arrested for suspected intoxication before they were to fly 141 passengers from Scotland to the United States will appear in a Scottish court Monday, police said.

The Police Service of Scotland said it arrested both pilots Saturday at Glasgow Airport and both men, aged 45 and 35, would be arraigned at a court in Paisley, a Glasgow suburb, to face charges connected to Britain's transport safety laws.

United Airlines said Saturday's flight from Glasgow to the U.S. city of Newark, New Jersey, was delayed for 10 hours while the airline sought replacement pilots.

"The two pilots have been removed from service and their flying duties," United spokeswoman Erin Benson said. "We are cooperating with the authorities and will conduct our own investigation as well. The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority."

Saturday's arrests come barely a month after two Canadian pilots of an Air Transat plane were arrested at Glasgow Airport and charged with trying to fly while intoxicated.

Many debris and passenger property found at Egypt Air crash #HNNTravel

Egypt's military displayed wreckage and personal belongings found in the search for EgyptAir Flight 804 as searchers scoured the Mediterranean Sea on Saturday for the aircraft's flight data and cockpit voice recorders.

The chunks of debris included an uninflated life vest, a seat, a purse, shoes, carpet, a scarf, parts of chairs and cushions, and a sling bag. The EgyptAir label appeared on one piece of wreckage.

Amtrak has announced a suspension in service between Philadelphia and New York after the Palmetto 89 train derailed in South Philadelphia today. We hear there were about 340 plus people on board. No fatal casualties reported yet but I am learning that several were injured on that train. Amtrak is the main rail passenger carrier in the United States. The train reportedly hit a back hoe on the tracks. I will have the latest for you as it comes in.

FlyDubai Airline crashes at Russian Airport killing all 62 on board #HNNTravel

MOSCOW — A Dubai airliner with 62 people on board crashed and caught fire early Saturday while landing in strong winds in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, killing all aboard, officials said.

A list published by the Emergencies Ministry showed the Boeing 737-800 operated by FlyDubai was carrying 55 passengers, most of them Russian, and seven crew members, whose nationalities were not immediately known. Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said that all had been killed.

It was the budget carrier’s first crash since it began operations in 2009. In a statement, FlyDubai confirmed that Flight 981 crashed on landing and there were no survivors. Four children were among those killed, it said.

Nigerian Aviation authorities lifts SUSPENSION of Bristow helicopters

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has lifted the temporary suspension on the operation of the Bristow Helicopter Sirkorsky S-76 aircrafts in the country.

This is contained in a statement signed by its External Communications Manager, Julie King.

The NCAA had on Feb. 4 suspended Bristow Helicopter’s Sikorsky S-76C from further operations in Nigeria after two air accidents.

However, the statement said the return of the Sikorsky S-76 aircraft to flight operations followed completion of the NCAA’s comprehensive operational audit.
