SFTC: AEROSMITH SUED BY CANADIAN PROMOTERS.

Rockers AEROSMITH are facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit from promoter s in Canada after they cancelled a string of shows in the country last year (09). The band scrapped a chunk of its North American tour in 2009 after frontman Steven Tyler broke his left shoulder falling from the stage at a gig in South Dakota. The axed dates included five concerts in Canada last August (09), and n ow executives at Keystone Entertainment Group Ltd. have filed suit against the band, alleging the musicians breached their contract by scrapping t he shows and failing to respond to requests to reschedule the dates.

The legal papers, filed in a Calgary court, claim bosses at Keystone re ached out to the rockers last September (09) in a bid to plan new concert s, but received no response. The lawsuit alleges the company lost money and seeks $6 million in damages for lost ticket sales and profits for the five conc erts, according to the Toronto Sun. Aerosmith kick off a European tour on Thursday (10Jun10) in Sweden, bef ore embarking on a series of North American shows, including one concert in Canada, in July (10).

And guitarist Noel is still fuming that his brother blew the band's chance of becoming as big as fellow rockers U2. He says, "I still blame him for the fact that we never cracked the U.S. When we had one of the biggest selling albums in the world, and were about to begin a crucial U.S. tour, he arrived at the airport, gave some ludicrous excuse that he couldn't get on the plane, and left us stranded."

LINKIN PARK frontman CHESTER BENNINGTON has lashed out at the organisers of the MTV Video Music Awards for turning the prizegiving into an annual mess. The rockers picked up a Best Rock Video gong for their Shadow of The Day promo - but the singer was far from happy about the overall event, which saw Britney Spears pick up three awards and comedian/host Russell Brand relentlessly poke fun at the Jonas Brothers.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine, Bennington admits he was disappointed with the 7 September (08) event. He says,

"Where were Foo Fighters and Nickelback? Or even a band like Three Days Grace, who had a pretty big year? There was no Vampire Weekend or Daughtry. It was very one-sided."And he accuses the show itself of "raising the bar of confusion and disarray," adding, "The VMAs are consistently clusterf**ks, and this year set a new standard.

"You had people who were invited sitting out in the streets. Plus, everybody was texting, no one was watching the show. I got super bummed out. "I think the VMAs have completely lost touch with a broad scope of music. It was very bubblegum and Disney, which is why bands like Foo Fighters and everybody else in my group weren't there."

OMG! ASHLEE SIMPSON 'S HUBBY PETE WENTZ WAS ARRESTED FOR FIGHTING WITH POLICE!

Rocker PETE WENTZ knew it was time to sort out his anger management issues when he started vandalising parked cars and fighting with police after a 2005 love split. The Fall Out Boy star flew into a rage after an encounter with his cheating girlfriend and went on the rampage in the Wicker Park area of Chicago, Illinois. He tells Playboy magazine, "I got into my car to leave her (girlfriend), and I smashed it into two other cars.

It was like bumper cars. "I wasn't in my right head; this was pure anger and frustration. Then I got out and started punching out car windows. That's when the police pulled up. "I punched the side mirror off a car, and an officer grabbed me. I made an attempt to punch him as well. It was pretty pathetic. He handcuffed me and put me in the back of a car... The neighbours were outside and the girl was crying. I had to call my manager from jail."

I guess that was before he even met Ashlee! He "fell out."

MEAT LOAF HATES 'STUPID ENGLISH FESTIVALS'!!!

Rock legend MEAT LOAF has vowed never to play at another "stupid" English music festival, because the crowds are too rowdy. The Bat Out of Hell hitmaker once took to the stage of one U.K. festival with fellow American rockers Jefferson Starship, but he was left so unimpressed by the audience's behaviour, he has refused to return ever since. And he insists performing at more historic venues - like the 17th century Castle Howard in York, north east England - is much more pleasurable. He says, "We played with Jefferson (Starship) at one of those stupid English festivals, and I do call them stupid because people behave like apes who haven't eaten a banana in a week. I refuse to play them.

"I prefer venues like Castle Howard. It feels more like everybody is going to take a bottle of wine and a roasted chicken and pull it off like (late English king) Henry VIII: 'Give me that leg woman...' It is a more carnival-like atmosphere, and I do like carnivals."

Does he forget that he is a rocker and people like rockers? Wonder how he feels about all the "Summer Jams" in the States!

WENTZ DEFENDS McCOY'S CONCERT OUTBURST!

Rocker PETE WENTZ has come to the defence of his pal TRAVIS McCOY, insisting he did nothing wrong when he lashed out at a fan during a gig on Tuesday (01Jul08) night. The Gym Class Heroes frontman was midway through a set with his band in St. Louis, Missouri, when McCoy took offence to an audience member who reportedly called him a "f**king ignorant n**ger". McCoy invited the concertgoer onstage, but when the unnamed man lunged at the singer, he went on the attack - and whacked the fan on the head with a microphone. The outburst resulted in McCoy's arrest on a third degree assault charge immediately after the concert.

But Wentz is furious at the "pathetic" fan and claims his friend was not the one in the wrong. In a post on his online blog on Thursday (03Jul08), Wentz says, "you know what? you call my friend a "n_gger" (sic), i dont even give a f_ck (sic) what happens to you. i dont (sic) want to see you in this scene. i dont want to see you at shows. you are who we write songs about. you are who we think about when we hate... "what a joke. you are f_cking (sic) pathetic and anyone that disagrees should put their white hood on too. i dont want your ticket money. i dont want your cd sales. id rather be poor and unknown.

"i am angrier than i have been in a long time. hate upon hate upon hate." Meanwhile, Gym Class Heroes manager Bob McLynn has also spoken out in support of McCoy. In a statement, he says, "Travis and Gym Class Heroes are anything but violent. It's amazing that in 2008 there are still people out there that would say such ignorant things."

FORMER AC/DC SINGER FIRES OFF AT BOOK AUTHOR!

AC/DC's original frontman has taken aim at the author of the band's lauded biography HIGHWAY TO HELL over the way he has been written out of the group. Dave Evans has dismissed Clinton Walker's account of his departure from the Aussie rock band as "bulls**t", telling the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper he "wanted to strangle" the writer when the book first came out. In the book, Walker attacks Evans, calling him "a shameless exhibitionist", and he reports guitarist Angus Young once threw Evans off a concert stage because he was too drunk to perform.

Angry Evans rants, "It's all bulls**t, a pack of lies. Can you imagine anyone throwing me, the king of all badasses, off the stage?" The former AC/DC singer, who insists Walker never asked him for an interview, adds, "It was just a case of clashing personalities. We all had these young egos and we were like rams butting heads. In retrospect, I suppose I should have just shut up, but I was a strong personality."
