R&B star Chris Brown to discuss attack of ex-girlfriend Rihanna on ABC's '20/20'

ABC says Chris Brown will appear on its "20/20" newsmagazine Dec. 11.

In what's billed as an in-depth interview, the singer will discuss his assault of ex-girlfriend and recording superstar Rihanna in February. He is on probation for the beating.

Robin Roberts, anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America," conducts the interview. It was taped last weekend.

ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider says clips may also air on "Good Morning America." He says Brown will not perform live.

Brown is scheduled to release his album "Graffiti" on Dec. 8. He has previously spoken about the attack on MTV News and "Larry King Live."

Rihanna was interviewed this month by ABC's Diane Sawyer.

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Chris Brown is due to face the music in court on Monday—or he can just turn on his radio today.

Smoke Jumpers, a little-known hip-hop act, is attempting to raise its profile with some Brown bashing, taking the disgraced R&B singer to task in a new track that includes the lyric: "Chris Brown should get his ass kicked."

Called "My Flow So Tight," the electronic-flavored ditty is touted on the group's website as "the official Chris Brown dis record" and claims the entertainer has no future in the music biz because of the Rihanna incident:

"Boy hits girl/Boy should be taken down/No matter who's around...All the money in the world but that's no excuse/Career suicide, yo, here's the noose."

The track has been in heavy rotation on urban radio stations in markets like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Pittsburgh and Tampa.

Smoke Jumpers promise that a portion of the proceeds from the single will go to various organizations for battered women.

A rep for Brown was unavailable for comment. The 19-year-old singer is due in an L.A. courtroom Monday afternoon to be arraigned on two felony counts stemming from the pre-Grammys altercation.

TMZ is reporting that Sources say Rihanna was the first one to strike -- slapping and striking Brown "numerous times" while he was driving, after seeing the text message from another woman. And Rihanna was fighting Brown as he punched and hurt her. We're told much of this is reflected in the official police report based on what Rihanna told cops. As a result, they say, this is not a case that demands a felony plea.

BREAKING NEWS: CHRIS BROWN CHARGED WITH 2 FELONIES. FACES UP TO 4 YEARS IN JAIL!

The L.A. District Attorney's office announced Thursday that the R&B star was being charged with two felonies – assault and making criminal threats – in the alleged beating of his girlfriend Rihanna last month. Even though the couple seem to have reconciled, the case is proceeding.

If convicted, Brown faces anywhere from probation to a maximum four years and eight months in state prison, DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

Brown is expected to enter a plea in court Thursday. He is required to appear in person.

The formal charges come almost a month after the couple argued early the morning of Feb. 8, just hours before Rihanna, 21, and Brown, 19, were both scheduled to perform at the Grammys. Police notes from the scene, which FOX 11 in L.A. claims it obtained, reportedly say Brown punched, bloodied and threatened to kill his girlfriend.

That will be great and Rihanna can go visit him at the pen and add money to his account for snacks like Wrigley's gum. This BS has to go!

READ THE DETECTIVE'S NOTES: A detective's notes from the scene of the alleged Rihanna assault reportedly reveal disturbing details about what happened between the singer and her boyfriend Chris Brown in the early hours of Feb. 8.

According to FOX 11 in Los Angeles, which claims to have obtained the notes from a search warrant in the case, Rihanna, 21, read a lengthy text message from a woman on Brown's phone, which led to an argument. Brown – who has a standing court date Thursday – allegedly tried to force his girlfriend out of the Lamborghini, and hit her head against the passenger window.

Brown, 19, then punched the singer while still driving, according to the detective's notes, and blood filled Rihanna's mouth. He allegedly told her, "

I'm going to beat the ---- out of you when we get home." Rihanna called her assistant and left a message saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there." The police notes say that prompted Brown to reply: "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you."

The report also says that Brown bit Rihanna and put her in a headlock, and that she almost lost consciousness.

Brand new R&B Artist Timothy Campbell (II) issued a statement today denouncing the alleged Rihanna/Chris Brown reconciliation reported by the media. Campbell who released his debut album "Silent Tears" at the end of February 2009 spoke out on Wednesday with regards to the shocking news. He stated that

"It's highly unacceptable for a man to beat up a woman regardless of the circumstances. Even if a man were to be punched by a woman, he needs to call 911 for immediate help rather than attack the woman right back. That is why we have emergency responders."

Campbell said. Timothy Campbell (II) who goes by recording name T.C.2 urges women to stay out of abusive relationships and seek help rather than return into a potentially dangerous situation. Campbell also stated that he would love to reach out to Rihanna sometimes in 2009 as she needs the support and help.

Campbell known as the "Prince of R&B" plans to help abused women cope nationwide and even worldwide. He plans to visit domestic abuse shelters to educate and provide support for these women. Last week on the release of his debut album, he spoke with on-air personality Earl Stokes at urban contemporary radio station WJMR Jammin 98.3FM in his hometown of Milwaukee Wisconsin about how every woman deserves to feel beautiful regardless of their appearance or how unattractive their face or body may look like.

FIRE IN THE LAPD: BATTERED PHOTO OF RIHANNA WAS LEAKED BY SOMEONE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT!

"The unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph immediately generated an internal investigation," an L.A. police spokesman said in a statement. "The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence. A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination."

The chief investigator in the case had told CNN earlier that authorities had tried to guard against leaks. Detective Deshon Andrews said he had kept the case file closely guarded and that no copies had been made of the original photos and documents.
