There is this new song from a Canadian (Toronto area) Rapper called "Smirnoff Ice" with Ohshawn (www.myspace.com/ohshawn) Bigg C of Boutitboyz and Monique Spence(www.myspace.com/moniquespence) (and produced by xpress) - whom are all upcoming musicians in the music scene. And as the song suggests, its a infectious hit about the cooler mixed vodka which has received positive acclaim from many listeners. You need to listen to this track. I think this should be played at every party when the toast is being done.

Toronto's hip hop group Point Blank is absolutely talented, no doubt! They are a big group and remind me of the last we had like that WuTanClan. The issue of hip-hop artists and police brutality in this city has been a problem for years. Regent Park is now building expensive condos and the developers don't want to hear about crime. You can't cover up their childhood and how they saw things growing up. These young men were born and raised here. Just like Harlem, East Baltimore, Compton and the Swats, the ghetto will always be the same. Here in Toronto, the police are extraordinarily out for these black hip-hop artists in Regents Park we hear.
Representing as one of Canada's most recognized groups in hip-hop, Point Blank continue to make long strides in the industry. Comprised of 6 emcees and one in house producer - Imperial, Trouble, Stump, Kidd, RPD, Jackal and Pikihed - share a common goal and vision to be the voice of youth growing up in the inner city. All members were raised in Toronto, Ontario's infamous Regent Park - North America's Oldest Social Housing Project.

The Torontoist asked him what he loved most about hip-hop and he said
"You know, what I love about is hip hop is the fact that it’s never stagnant. It forever changes. It’s kind of like a forest. Every once in a while, lightning will strike somewhere and it’s going to burn out all of the old growth. And that old growth will allow new fresh trees and MCs to grow and I think that’s a really important thing in any artistic endeavor or any culture. It constantly makes room for new and innovative ideas to come into fruition. If you are an old tree in that forest, you can still grow with the new saplings. The thing I love about hip hop is its ability to adapt and change."
