Feuding PINK FLOYD stars DAVID GILMOUR and ROGER WATERS put their differences aside on Saturday (10Jul10) to perform together at a Hoping Foundation awareness benefit in England. The two rockers hit the stage at Kiddington Hall in Oxfordshire, England to the amazement of the 200 guests in attendance. It was the first time the duo had shared a stage since Pink Floyd's Live 8 appearance in 2005.

The former bandmates, who were accompanied by Guy Pratt and Waters' son Harry, among others, played Floyd favourites Wish You Were Here, Comfort ably Numb and Another Brick in the Wall. The event raised over $500,000 for the charity organisation which aids Palestinian kids.

BLACK SABBATH US TOUR STARTED REAL BAD!

http://users.skynet.be/rockofages/Jeffhibbardinterview/jeffhibbardinter_i00000e.jpg
Heavy rock legends BLACK SABBATH's first tour of the U.S. almost didn't happen - the naive group's gear blew up because the bandmates didn't realise "the electricity was different". The Paranoid hitmakers were superstars in Europe and were shocked to learn they were expected to play club venues when they arrived in New York for their first American shows. And shock turned to dismay when Ozzy Osbourne and his band realised they were ill-equipped for the shows.

Drummer Bill Ward recalls, "The PAs (public announcement system) and the equipment that we brought was totally unsuitable for America." Bandmate Geezer Butler adds, "We didn't know that there was different electricity." And guitarist Tony Iommi remembers, "We played at the worst dump. We plugged the gear in and it all blew up." Butler states, "We had to borrow stuff for that night and we did the set and there was completely no response.

Then we found out later we were auditioning for all the promoters and agents in America. We were wondering why the audience looked so weird to us with suits and short hair." But they passed the audition with flying colours and went on to extend the tour and become a big hit among American rock crowds. Butler adds, "From there it spread like wildfire. We were only supposed to be in America for two weeks and it ended up like three months." The band's recollections feature on new DVD documentary Paranoid.

LENNY KRAVITZ SAYS HE'S NOT JOINNING AEROSMITH!

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz has shot down reports he is set to take over from Steven Tyler as Aerosmith frontman, insisting the singer is irreplaceable. Tyler left the group earlier this year (09), announcing plans for a two-year hiatus, but his bandmates are determined to continue without him and are currently considering replacement singers for a 2010 album and tour.

Former Geffen Records executive John Kalodner, the man behind the legendary group's 1980s comeback, recently urged the crestfallen Aerosmith bandmates to sign Kravitz to take over from Tyler. But although the rocker is "flattered" by Kalodner's comments, he's adamant he would never consider stepping into Tyler's role. On his Twitter.com page, Kravitz writes, "As much as I am flattered that Aerosmith's camp would consider me to front the band, Steven Tyler is a family friend, and no voice could ever take the place of his. I hope the band stays together. They are classic."

Ojeda experienced intense pain that prevented him from standing or sitting, went to a hospital and had surgery to repair a ruptured disc, according to bandmate Jay Jay French. Dan McCafferty, who played guitar in singer Dee Snider's solo band, was pressed into duty as a last-minute replacement at the Keswick Theater on Wednesday night. More here....

YAWN: SUPERGRASS QUIT RECORD LABEL.

http://sendmedeadflowers.com/uploaded_images/071128supergrass-774060.jpg
British rockers SUPERGRASS have left their record label of 12 years and appointed bassist MICKEY QUINN managing director of the band. The trio has walked away from their deal with EMI-owned Parlophone records, which has been their home since their 1994 debut track Caught By The Fuzz. They will now release all of their future music through their own company Supergrass Records, in a bid to give them more control over their careers.

Quinn, who will take over administrative duties for the band, tells NME.com, "When you're footing the bill you pull your horns in. In a lot of ways that makes you more creative." The All right hitmakers are the latest in a long line to walk away from EMI, with acts including Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Radiohead all leaving after the company was taken over by private equity group Terra Firma in 2007.

BRANDON FLOWERS SACRIFICED MOUSTACHE FOR MUSIC!

http://cupiiiblogja.freeblog.hu/files/brandon%20flowers.jpg

THE KILLERS frontman BRANDON FLOWERS has explained why he shaved off his famous moustache - it didn't complement the band's fresh new pop sound. The singer decided to get rid of his beloved facial hair in time for the release of their latest album, Day & Age - as he felt it didn't suit the mood of the Las Vegas group's new record.

He tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "I decided that the person who sang these songs didn't wear a moustache." The band recorded their LP with the help of Madonna's music guru Stuart Price - and they are delighted with the input of the super producer.

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says, "It was really, really fun for me on this record. I was able to do so much more than I was ever able to get away with before, with ideas." Flowers adds, "There's something cosmic and galactic about what he does I think."

How does a beard change the image of the damn band? The boy-ish look may...
