RAPPER RICK ROSS QUITS RECORD LABEL!

http://madnews.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/rick-ross.jpg

Hip-hop star RICK ROSS has cut ties with his longterm record label, vowing to release his next album through his own imprint. The rapper dropped his first two albums through Slip-N-Slide Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam, and has been affiliated with the company since 2005. But Ross has now decided to put out his next LP, Deeper Than Rap, through his own Maybach Music Group, according to SixShot.com. Deeper Than Rap is slated for release in April (09).

NO COMMENT: JD BOOTED FROM UNIVERSAL.

Jermaine Dupri was let go from Universal Music on Thursday. Dupri, who served as president of Island Records Urban Music division, basically collected a paycheck but didn't show up to work for several months. "After [his girlfriend] Janet Jackson's album and tour bombed, he didn't come back to work... he just lost heart," sources told gossip paper Page Six. While executives tried to talk to Dupri about his performance, nothing changed. "He didn't bother to do anything that he was supposed to do, like find artists, release records or actually show up," sources said.

His departure follows shortly after Jackson broke ties with Island Def Jam after her latest album, 'Discipline,' posted disappointing sales of less than 500,000. According to Page Six, "Dupri was widely blamed for Jackson's album flop as he insisted on letting her get her way on song selection and production." A rep for Dupri's boss, Island/Def Jam head L.A. Reid, declined to comment

YAWN: SUPERGRASS QUIT RECORD LABEL.

http://sendmedeadflowers.com/uploaded_images/071128supergrass-774060.jpg
British rockers SUPERGRASS have left their record label of 12 years and appointed bassist MICKEY QUINN managing director of the band. The trio has walked away from their deal with EMI-owned Parlophone records, which has been their home since their 1994 debut track Caught By The Fuzz. They will now release all of their future music through their own company Supergrass Records, in a bid to give them more control over their careers.

Quinn, who will take over administrative duties for the band, tells NME.com, "When you're footing the bill you pull your horns in. In a lot of ways that makes you more creative." The All right hitmakers are the latest in a long line to walk away from EMI, with acts including Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Radiohead all leaving after the company was taken over by private equity group Terra Firma in 2007.

Shocker!! Hip Hop Record Label Death Row Records Still Lookng for a Buyer?

The sale of Deathrow for $24 million was note DONE as we heard! The sale of Marion ‘Suge' Knight's hip hop and rap power house record label Death Row Records to Global Music Group Inc. and Entertainment One LTD. Is not the ‘done deal' that has been reported.

Court documents show that R. Todd Nelson, Chapter 11 Trustee of debtor Death Row Records Inc. and Richard K. Diamond, Chapter 11 Trustee of debtor Marion ‘Suge' Knight Jr. have filed a lawsuit in US Bankruptcy Court Central District of California, Los Angeles DAlso it seems that Lydia Harris will be in court again over her judgment against hip hop mogul Marion ‘Suge' Knight and hip hop / rap powerhouse Death Row Records.

Helen Ryan Frazer, Chapter 7 Trustee in Case No. SV-96-15521-GM filed in United States Bankruptcy Court in California has named Lydia Harris, New Image Corporation, Michael Ray Harris (Harry O), Conquest Media Group, LLC and Wasserman, Comden & Castleman, LLP., as defendants in another lawsuit. The case is for Complaint for Declaratory Judgment.

This stems from the $107,000,000 judgment against Death Row Records that was awarded to her against Global Music Group Inc., a New York Corporation; Entertainment One LTD. See pdf files of the court documents at www.ThugLifeArmy.com

Some anonymous person that has been e-mailing me for a while now called ThaGM......you know yourself. I think you're Suge Knight and you need to get on the phone with me! This is getting ridiculous. I am a different kind of Music Reporter. You won't hear a lot of shit I report here in the mainstream media. Missed my exclusive interview with LYDIA? Listen to it again below and leave a comment. There is a third party in this thing and it's Michael Harris' other woman who has a lot to say too. Her interview is coming. Her name is ZEVELYN LEE!
LYDIA NEEDS TO GET HER $$$$ AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO CUT THE SHYT. Suge may just be the one sitting on that electric chair in the logo! THE END!
