Queen Latifah wins SAG award!

Queen Latifah continues to garner awards for her acting. After earning a Golden Globe Award and gaining an Emmy nomination, the 37 year-old earned a Screen Actor's Guild Award Sunday night (January 27). The award come from Latifah's performance in Life Support, an HBO film that aired in March. Shame she did not show up!

Foxy Brown DENIED medical request!

A judge has denied Foxy Brown's request to get out of jail early so she can go to California for an ear examination and for repair of an electronic ear implant. State Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson ruled Thursday that the singer will not let Brown go to Los Angeles' House Clinic for the exam and repair of a defective cochlear implant, the Manhattan district attorney's office reported Monday. Brown, 29, revealed her hearing problems during a court appearance in 2004. Her petition to Jackson said that her condition was worsening in jail and that she faced serious harm to her hearing unless she had the cochlear implant reprogrammed and repaired. All this preferential treatment for some celebs and some get none! That is a medical issue.

Ludacris sued for copyright stolen tracks?

Atlanta rap star Ludacris has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by three producers from Chester, Pennsylvania, who claim the rapper stole their track and used it on his hit album The Red Light District.

As FOX found out, in addition to a curious past, Craig Petties has an Oscar-award winning relative, DJ Paul of the rap group Three 6 Mafia. 31-year-old Petties was captured January 11th in Mexico and was wanted on Drug charges. Petties and DJ Paul are half brothers who share the same father. Rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is at the center of accusations surrounding an assault last year at a nightclub in Hollywood. The Associated Press reports that four eyewitnesses support Gerard Rechnitzer, who alleges that Combs assaulted him and his girlfriend at a post-Oscar party on Feb. 25, 2007 outside Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel. Canadian woman has brain surgery to correct seizure caused by a particular Sean Paul song!

An Edmonton woman can listen to her favourite hip-hop music again, thanks to U.S. surgeons who operated on her brain. Eighteen months ago, Gayle began to suspect that a song by reggae and hip-hop artist Sean Paul was triggering some of her seizures. She recalls being at a barbecue and collapsing when the Jamaican rapper's music started playing, and then remembered having a previous seizure when she heard that song. Her suspicions were confirmed on a visit to the Long Island medical centre last February, when she played Paul's hit "Temperature" on her iPod for doctors. Soon after, she suffered three seizures. Boy, Sean Paul better not come near her house! I wonder if he knows this? He has that distinct voice....you know....Ja Rule, T-Pain, Akon all have them! The one you can recognize in any genre.

"American Gangster" movie hit with $55 million lawsuit!

Makers of the Denzel Washington blockbuster American Gangster are facing a $55 million libel suit levied by three former Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents who say the film inaccurately portrayed them as criminals and diminished their role in taking down Harlem heroin dealer Frank Lucas. According to the New York Daily News, the former agents say they were slandered by the quote appearing at the end of the film, which stated that Lucas' "collaboration led to the convictions of three-quarters of New York City's Drug Enforcement agency." Their lawsuit says the film inaccurately asserts that Lucas cooperated with New Jersey police officer and prosecutor Richie Roberts in order to help convict corrupt law enforcement officers.

Big Oomp Camp Allstar member Baby D announced the release of a new album titled A-Town Secret Weapon. The Decatur native has been a member of the Big Oomp camp since 1994, when Big Oomp launched his legendary independent label/record store chain. The album is the first release under the Koch Urban South imprint, which is headed up by Big Oomp. Oomp and I are very close and Baby D is NY BABY. Mary J. Blige to sing on ABC soap opera.

The Grammy-winning singer taped another appearance Thursday on the ABC soap opera "One life to live." She last visited the fictional town of Llanview in July 2006 to perform hits from her multiplatinum album "The Breakthrough." For her second cameo, she'll be a surprise guest at a Sweet Sixteen birthday party for Starr Manning (played by Kristen Alderson), ABC said. The episodes are set to air Feb. 15 and Feb. 18.

Chauncey Hannibal, a.k.a. Chauncey Black was captured after a year long search in Los Angeles and extradited to Virginia Beach where he is currently being held without bond, according to the Associated Press.
