Armed police officers and a helicopter were scrambled to an Army base after three men were seen nearby with a rifle, as military installations remain on alert following the attempted kidnap of an RAF airman.
Police said they had been called to a “suspicious incident” near Bulford Camp in Wiltshire (UK) on Thursday afternoon.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called to reports at 6pm of three males seen by a member of the public casually walking with an air rifle or shot gun.
