UNSEEN EMINEM BAGS ARTIST OF THE DECADE?

Eminem has earned Billboard's artist of the decade title, just slightly more than 10 years after he made his Billboard Hot 100 debut.

The decade-end artist recap ranks the best-performing acts of the past 10 years (from December 4, 1999, to November 28, 2009) based on activity on two charts: the Billboard 200 albums list and the Billboard Hot 100 songs tally.

The hip-hop king first graced the Hot 100 chart February 27, 1999, with "My Name Is," then racked up another 27 entries from 2000 onward. On the Billboard 200, all five of his sets released in the decade reached No. 1. Additionally, his album "The Slim Shady LP" debuted and peaked at No. 2 in the spring of 1999, but continued to chart in 2000.

Eminem is also the top male artist of the decade. The female honor goes to Beyonce, while the top duo/group is Nickelback.

Em took a break almost the whole 10 years. What? Reminds me of Obama's Nobel Peace prize. He won that after 2 weeks in office. BTW, the deadline for the Nobel Peace prize is Feb 1st. Same with Bernanke as TIME's man of the year!

THE TOP TUNES OF THE DECADE.....

The top album of the decade came from an act that's not even around anymore — 'N Sync.

Billboard magazine says the boy band led by Justin Timberlake had the decade's best-selling album with "No Strings Attached," which sold more than 10 million copies.

The most popular song of the decade was Mariah Carey's ballad "We Belong Together."

Eminem was named the top artist of the decade, while Nickelback was named top group.

For 2009, Taylor Swift had the best-selling album with "Fearless," while the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" was top song.

Billboard released those chart-toppers plus others for the decade and 2009 on its Web site on Friday.

Eminem? The guy was not even seen for like 4 years straight. Mariah's song rocked. I played that song virally on Radio Nigeria and even altered the playlist. LOL!

LADY GAGA SLOW DANCES TO THE TOP OF THE U.S. POP CHARTS.

http://www.wmagazine.com/images/celebrities/2007/10/cear_lady_gaga_01_h.jpg
LADY GAGA has made it to the top of the U.S. pop charts after 22 weeks on the countdown. It's the longest trip to number one since Creed's With Arms Wide Open took 27 weeks to get to the top in 2000.

Lady GaGa's Just Dance ended Beyonce's reign at the top of the charts with Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), which drops to two on the new countdown. Another former chart-topper, T.I.'s Live Your Life, stays put at number three. For the first time in 11 years, there is no new entry in the Billboard Hot 100.

You might wanna know that was Z103's #1 song in the 2008 Best of 2008 103 countdown. KJ and I listened to the entire show and Flow's Top 93 too.

JAY-Z AND BEYONCE ARE HOLLYWOOD'S RICHEST COUPLE OF 2008.

Superstars JAY-Z and BEYONCE KNOWLES have topped a new poll as Hollywood's richest couple - with combined earnings for 2008 of $162 million. The Crazy In Love stars, who wed in April (08), have amassed a fortune in the year from 1 June 2007 to 2008. Rapper Jay-Z earned $82 million from his recent $150 million 10-year deal with concert promoter Live Nation, while wife Knowles has brought in $80 million from her various ventures in fashion, film and music.

Their 2008 fortune sets them far apart from Hollywood's other power couples Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are in second place in the Forbes magazine poll with $85 million, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could only manage fifth place with $34 million.

Let's face it, this list is bogus!

The top 10 of Hollywood's Top Earning Couples is as follows:
1. Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles - $162 million
2. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith - $85 million (What? That's half of Bey and Jay)
3. David Beckham and Victoria Beckham - $58 million (C'mon, he has a $100 mill contract and endorsements)
4. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill - $35 million
5. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - $34 million (Now this is bogus! These two should be #1)
6. Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann - $30 million (Who are they?)
7. Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani - $28 million (She was pregnant half the time)
8. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman - $25 million
9. Tony Parker and Eva Longoria Parker - $22.5 million (NBA contracts are bigger/Desperate Houswives pay?)
10. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart - $22 million (Couple? They are not even married!)

Where is J-Lo and Marc Anthony here? She toured around the world pregnant till the end and so did he.

RAPPER T.I BACK ON TOP OF THE CHARTS!

Rapper T.I. has cemented his dominance on the U.S. pop charts by returning to the top and displacing BRITNEY SPEARS. Spears broke T.I.'s Billboard Hot 100 chart jump record last week (16Oct08) when her Womanizer hit rocketed to number one from 96, but the rap star has reclaimed his crown with Whatever You Like, while his Rihanna duet, Live Your Life, climbs a spot to two on the new countdown.

Pink's So What jumps up to three, while Spears' Womanizer falls to four and Katy Perry's Hot N Cold stays put at five. The highest new entry on the chart belongs to Taylor Swift, who scores her third consecutive Hot 100 top 10 single with Fearless, which debuts at nine.

IDOL, DAVID ARCHULETA SHOVING RIHANNA OFF THE CHARTS!

RIHANNA has scored a second week at the top of the U.S. pop charts, despite a challenge from AMERICAN IDOL runner-up DAVID ARCHULETA. The newcomer's single Crush becomes the Billboard Hot 100's highest chart debut in more than 18 months after rocketing to number two thanks mainly to 166,000 first-week downloads.

Archuleta's hit just didn't have the power to topple Rihanna's Disturbia. Forever, by the R&B star's boyfriend Chris Brown, slips to three on the new chart and Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl falls to four. Meanwhile, country star Kenny Chesney scores his first top 50 debut on the Hot 100 with Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven at number 41.

KISSING PERRY IN SEVENTH HEAVEN AT THE TOP OF THE U.S. CHARTS.

There's no shifting KATY PERRY from the top of the U.S. pop charts - the singer's summer anthem I KISSED A GIRL has claimed a seventh week at number one. The song hasn't budged since it scored Perry the 1,000th number one on the Billboard charts in June (08). It's also a great week for R&B pin-up Rihanna; her Disturbia hit jumps up to three on the new countdown, while her Take A Bow remains in the top five - at four. The Jonas Brothers score the week's highest debut, crashing in at eight with Tonight. It's the third time in six weeks the pop siblings have claimed the highest entry on the chart.

KATY PERRY'S FAILED ALBUMS TURNED HER INTO A JOKE!!

KATY PERRY became the butt of her friends' jokes when albums she boasted about failed to materialise. The I Kissed A Girl singer's debut was released earlier this summer (08) several years and three labels after she first recorded many of the tracks. She says, "I've been on three major labels, signed and dropped, signed and dropped. There were times I lost hope in ever believing anything that any record label person ever told me." And the last time the album failed to get released, Perry almost gave up borrowing money from her parents and singing back-up vocals for Miley Cyrus just to make ends meet.

She tells EW.com, "It turned into a situation, where, for years, I was telling my friends that I was going to have a record out... and then it wouldn't happen. "They stopped believing in me. I was pretty much a joke." Eventually Perry scored a new record deal with Capitol, and her hit new LP, One Of The Boys, was released this year. She admits she refused to believe the album was going to hit shelves until it actually came out: "Maybe a week before my record was coming out, I kind of went into that state of shock, like, 'Oh, my God, they totally called my bluff! It's coming!'"

Look who's laughing at the top of the charts now! Below is my son Popular Culture KJ's remix version with DJ Bam Bam and Mixin Marc.

DIZZEE RASCAL TOPS U.K. CHART FOR FIRST TIME.

http://www.realbuzz.com/images/articles/Dizzie%20Rascal(0).jpg

British rapper DIZZEE RASCAL has topped the U.K. charts for the first time ever. The hip-hop star's track Dance Wiv Me beat off stiff competition from U.S. singer Ne-Yo and dance act Basshunter to take the top spot. Previously, Dizzee Rascal's highest position in the singles chart was 11 with Stand Up Tall in 2004. American Idol winner Jordin Sparks was at number four with her collaboration with Chris Brown, No Air.

And Brown himself held fifth place with his single Forever.
In the album charts, Coldplay retained their number one position for the fourth consecutive week with Viva La Vida. Welsh star Duffy held onto second place with Rockferry, while Brown took third with Exclusive. Neil Diamond came in at number four with Home Before Dark and Darren Styles' Skydivin' placed fifth.

USHER has scored a TransAtlantic double after taking his new album HERE I STAND to the top of both U.S. and U.K. charts. The release hit number one in Britain at the beginning of the week (02Jun08) and now it has debuted at the top in America too with impressive 433,000 first-week sales. It's the second biggest debut of the year, 20,000 copies behind Mariah Carey's E=MC2. The Sex and the City movie soundtrack debuts at two on the new chart, while last week's number one, 3 Doors Down's eponymous new album, slips to three.

LIL WAYNE SUED BY FOLK SINGER!

Rapper LIL WAYNE is facing a lawsuit from a songwriter who claims he sampled one of her songs without permission. The star, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, uses Karma Ann Swanepoel's folk track Once on his hit song I Feel Like Dying. Wayne's record label has been attempting to secure a deal with Swanepoel allowing him to release the song, reports TMZ.com. But she is angry the track has appeared on websites including MySpace and YouTube before an agreement has been reached - and has filed suit in Louisiana.

Meanwhile Weezy's "Lollipop" has scored his third week at the top of the U.S. pop charts, but, as expected, it's AMERICAN IDOL winner DAVID COOK who steals the big news with 11 new entries on the Billboard Hot 100 countdown. Cook's highest debut, The Time of My Life, enters the new chart at three, behind Lil Wayne's Lollipop and Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love. Rihanna's Take a Bow, at four, and No Air by Jordin Sparks atfive founds out the top five. Meanwhile, Coldplay's Viva La Vida rockets into the top 10, from 41 to 10 after becoming the theme for a new U.S. TV ad for Apple's iTunes Music Store.

IDOL WINNER COOK SCORES U.S. CHART DEBUT RECORD!

AMERICAN IDOL winner DAVID COOK will break pop chart records in the U.S. on Thursday (29May08) when 11 of his songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100. But Cook will miss out on a number one - the original song he sang in the Idol finale, The Time of My Life, is estimated to enter the new countdown at three on the main chart, but will top Hot Digital Songs tally, where 14 of his tunes will debut. Cook's takeover of the Hot 100 shatters the mark set by Miley Cyrus in November, 2006, when she debuted six songs on the chart.

His feat is the greatest chart haul since data company Nielsen started tracking the chart in 1991. The Beatles still own the record for the most songs on the chart in any one week - they scored 14 hits on the Hot 100 in April, 1964. But no artist has scored 11 debuts on the chart in the same week.

FIXED: Rihanna goes from #53 to #1 on Billboard!

Rihanna made Billboard history Thursday as the Barbados-born beauty’s new single “Take a Bow” lept fifty-two places to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, it is the second-biggest jump to the top in the chart’s fifty year history. BITTER CUSTODY AND DRUG REHAB: Whitney and Britney set to release album in XMAS!

BRITNEY SPEARS is set to go head-to-head with WHITNEY HOUSTON in a chart battle later this year (08) - when both stars release their forthcoming albums in the run-up to Christmas. Houston has reportedly been working on her seventh studio album since 2003, and has even called on R&B star John Legend and producer/rapper Will.I.Am to help her comeback record climb to the top of the charts. But the 44-year-old's chance at a dazzling return may be thwarted by the Toxic hitmaker, who is also set to release a new album this December 2008. According to reports, bosses at 6-year-old Spears' record label are so impressed with her new demo tracks, they want her to rush out a finished LP this winter. A label source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Britney has been on fire in the studio of late¡ she is determined to make a triumphant comeback." Both singers have been surrounded by controversy in recent years, with Houston battling drug addiction and going through messy divorce with singer Bobby Brown, and Spears visiting rehab and fighting a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
