#HNNMusic: Kanye West's surprise performance at Chance the Rapper's event

Earlier today, Kanye West made a surprise appearance at Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring Day Festival at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field. He performed “Black Skinhead,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Touch the Sky,” “Gold Digger,” “Father Stretch My Hand Pt.1” and “Pt. 2,” his verse on Schoolboy Q’s “THat Part,” and was joined by Chance for a performance of The Life of Pablo opener “Ultralight Beam.” “I’m so proud of this young man right here, for putting all of this together,” Kanye says of Chance.

KANYE NOW REGRETS HE CALLED PREZ BUSH A RACIST.

Kanye West has responded to George W. Bush's revelations he was left "disgusted" after the rapper accused him of racism, insisting he now knows how the ex-leader felt thanks to his shameful antics at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.In a TV interview to be broadcast next week, Bush reveals that West's declaration the then-President did not care "about black people" in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was one of the toughest parts of his tenure as U.S. leader.

And in a radio chat on Wednesday, the rapper admitted he can now understand how Bush would have felt following the slur because he was also accused of racism when his stage protest ruined Taylor Swift's winning moment last year.He tells 97.9 The Box, "I definitely can understand the way he feels to be accused of being a racist in any way, because... the same thing happened to me. I got accused of being a racist, and... with both situations, it was a lack of... compassion that America saw in that situation. More here...

KANYE WEST AND TAYLOR SWIFT ARE THE KING AND QUEEN OF THE 2009 CHARTS.

They gave us the most memorable music moment of 2009, so it's only fitting that Kanye West and Taylor Swift have been named the king and queen of the charts.

Billboard magazine named Swift the top female artist, while West was declared top male artist. But Swift trumps West overall. She was the top artist of the year, with Beyonce coming in second and Lady Gaga third.

Swift has a sophomore CD, "Fearless," that has sold more than 4.5 million copies.

West and Swift provided one of the most talked-about episodes of the year when West hijacked her MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech.

This was a dark nite so I took the color away. This picture was taken by Donda West at the release of his first album. I know he was going places. Since his mom died, it has never been the same for him. Kanye has always been the underdog, the producer for Jay-Z etc. Look at the role Beyonce played in the grieving process so you can see in fact why he took her side if in fact it was not a stunt. Now I hear TV producers have been forced to heavily edit a forthcoming KANYE WEST documentary after the rapper allegedly ranted about RADIOHEAD and defended embattled singer CHRIS BROWN during filming. The outspoken rapper was especially candid while recording an episode of the VH1 show Storytellers - which features artists discussing the meaning behind their songs - in Los Angeles on 13 February (09).

He was said to have told the audience he was "hurt" when Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke supposedly snubbed him at this year's (09) Grammy Awards. West explained: "So when he (Yorke) performed at the Grammys, I sat the f**k down." He is also alleged to have discussed Brown, referring to his alleged fight with Rihanna, asking the crowd: "Can't we give Chris a break? I know I make mistakes in life."

But the controversial remarks have been axed - with producers insisting there wasn't enough time in the 90-minute show to broadcast all the rapper's comments. Executive producer Bill Flanagan says, "A lot of the stories that Kanye told went long. I tried to get the essence of his comments."

DAMON DASH TELLS MAGAZINE THAT KANYE AND JAY-Z HAD A FEUD OVER BLING!!!

A representative for KANYE WEST has blasted DAMON DASH's allegations the STRONGER rapper sparked a feud with JAY-Z after the BIG PIMPIN' hitmaker refused to lend him a diamond chain. Dash maintains the hip-hop stars' alleged rivalry began at a 2003 concert in Chicago, Illinois, where the then-up-and-coming West - who had been signed to Dash and Jay-Z's label Roc-A-Fella Records - reportedly demanded the rap icon "knight" him with a chain.

But according to Dash, Jay-Z's former business partner, the star refused to lend him the jewellery - and West has "hated" his boss and labelmate ever since. Dash tells the December (08) issue of U.S. magazine Complex,

"This n**ger (West) was like, 'Wow, (Jay-Z) ain't going to give me this chain. I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That s**t cost $40,000. I told Kanye, 'Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!'"

However, a spokesperson for West, who continues to work closely with Jay-Z, has dismissed Dash's claims, telling the New York Daily News the report is "ridiculous and totally false".
Dash and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, founded Roc-A-Fella Records with pal Kareem 'Biggs' Burke in 1996, but the trio parted ways in late 2004, with Jay-Z retaining the label name under his deal with Def Jam Records.

"I'm cool with the paparazzi," the rapper – who was arrested with his road manager at LAX after allegedly causing damage to camera equipment worth more than $10,000 – wrote on his blog Friday morning.

"This guy wasn't cool," West wrote, referring to one of the lensmen allegedly involved in the incident. "I gotta work now ... I'll rant later!"

The disgruntled rapper stormed off from the 2007 ceremony, claiming he had been mistreated by organisers and swearing he'd never return.

West, who left without an award, also accused the music cable network bosses of exploiting Britney Spears, whose terrible performance stole the show. But the rap star was present at a pre-awards photo conference in Los Angeles on Thursday (04Sep08), where he joined fellow performers T.I. and Christina Aguilera and show host Russell Brand. The VMAs at Paramount Pictures will also mark Aguilera's first televised performance since becoming a mum in January (08).

WEST CALLS ON FANS TO BE MORE OPEN MINDED.

Rapper KANYE WEST has urged his fans to be more open minded about different cultures and trends in society, because ignorance is "disrespectful". The Stronger hitmaker made the comments during his concert at New York's Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (05Aug08), where he called on his devotees to follow his example and be more accepting of things in their everyday lives. He told the crowd:

"Open y'all's f**kin' minds. Be accepting of different people. Let people be who they are. "You know how many people came at me, calling me 'gay' cause I wear my jeans the fresh way? Or 'cause I said, 'Hey, dude, how y'all gonna say 'f**k' right in front of a gay dude's face and act like that's OK?' That s**t is disrespectful.

"It took me time to break out of the mental prisons I was in. The stereotypes of the fear of the backlash that I would get for believing in what I believe in, for accepting people for who they are." After airing his opinions, he thanked the patient crowd and signed off by saying, "Thank y'all for listening to me. I had a few things to get off my chest. I want y'all to handle the rest. New York City, good night."

KANYE WEST HAS ENROLLED IN ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES!

Rapper KANYE WEST is reportedly enrolling in anger management classes - to tackle his frequent mood swings. The outspoken hip-hop star has made several public outbursts in the past and his representatives are allegedly eager to resolve the problem. A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Kanye's management team came up with the idea. "His mood swings were beginning to play a part in his commercial enterprises as people felt he was miserable all the time." West hit the headlines in September 2005 for making a controversial attack on U.S. president George W. Bush during a live Hurricane Katrina fundraising telethon.

Miserable all the time? When your mama dies and dies like that, it can follow you forever! Anyhow I am glad Kanye is getting some kinda help.
