Michael Jackson pulled out of a TV comeback performance 24 hours before he was scheduled to perform, citing stage fright.

Michael Jackson is too scared to perform on TV. The 'Thriller' singer - once the self-styled King of Pop - was due to launch his comeback with an appearance on the final of 'American Idol' last week. But just 24 hours before his scheduled performance on the TV talent show he pulled out - reportedly fearing the public's reaction. A source told the Britain's The Sun newspaper: "This was his big chance but he got stage fright. He said, 'I can't do it. Everyone will hate me.' " The 'American Idol' final had a projected TV audience of 27 million viewers. Judge Paula Abdul originally let slip the possibility of a Jackson performance at the final during the run up to it. Simon Fuller, former Spice Girls mastermind, is helping Jackson with the comeback. Other stars to perform on 'American Idol' this season include, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis, George Michael, Seal, Bryan Adams and Dolly Parton.

THAT'S MA GURL: Natasha B's bizzare record breaking hopes!

NATASHA BEDINGFIELD was ecstatic after landing a place in the Guinness World Records with her pop star brother DANIEL - because she always harboured a dream to be listed in the famous book. The talented pair was honoured by the legendary tome in 2005 after they became the first siblings to score number one singles in U.K. chart history. Natasha Bedingfield scored a U.K. number one with her single These Words in 2004, while Daniel Bedingfield claimed the top spot in 2001 with Gotta Get Thru This.

And, although the Unwritten singer loves her place on the list, she had previously hoped to be known for breaking a more bizarre record. She tells New York gossip column Page Six, "I always dreamed that I would get into the Guinness Book for the world's longest fingernails or the world's longest hair. "But to be honoured alongside my brother for our singles supersedes any of my dreams." Remember I interviewed Natasha at the Canadian Idol auditions last month. Canadian Idol starts next Tuesday June 3rd 2008. Natasha told me she LOVES BLOGGERS! We are the real DEAL!

MADONNA PRAISES 'AMBITIOUS' TIMBERLAKE .

MADONNA has hailed fellow singer JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE as the future of music, insisting his ambitious ways will ensure his music will top charts for years to come. The Cry Me A River hitmaker impressed the queen of pop after collaborating on her latest smash hit 4 Minutes, helping the star produce her 11th number one album Hard Candy.

And the Material Girl singer admits she was drawn to work with the pop hunk because he understands the crazy ways of the music industry better than anyone else. She says, "He's ambitious but not in an offensive way. He's incredibly responsible and he's good at what he does. I think he has a long future in front of him. "He understands the insanity of being a pop star."

NO SPICE: Mel B denies a Spice concert for Nelson Mandela's birthday!

MELANIE BROWN has dismissed rumours the SPICE GIRLS are to reunite one final time to perform for former South African President NELSON MANDELA. The girl band concluded their comeback tour earlier this year (08) but were reported to be planning a last gig at Mandela's 90th birthday celebration concert in London's Hyde Park in June (08). Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm fuelled speculation recently by remarking, "We're great friends of Mr. Mandela and we would love to perform for him again." But now Brown has put an end to the rumours, insisting the band have no plans to appear at the event.

She says, "I don't think we are. I did hear about that and we're all big fans of Nelson Mandela but I don't think we're going to be doing that. "I know we all have a lot of stuff going on. I know that I'm here (in Los Angeles) working probably until the end of the year. But I know I don't have a break. But he's a great guy. I can't believe he's 90." The Wannabe hitmakers met Mandela during a visit to Johannesburg in 1997, when he famously referred to them as his "heroes". The Spice girls are finished! Done! Kaput!

GOLDEN RAIN: Prince steals the show at Coachella Concert!

Pop superstar PRINCE stole the show at the Coachella Festival in California on Saturday night (26Apr08), turning the event into one big party as he thrilled fans with two encores.

The singer strutted onstage at just after 11pm, dressed in an all-white ensemble complete with glittery fringe, and played up to the 60,000-strong crowd's screams, declaring, "Coachella, I am here!" After telling the desert audience, "You are the coolest place on earth right now!", he wasted no time in launching into his set, with his band striking up the chords to Jungle Love as singer Morris Day appeared onstage, while Prince showed off his skills on the guitar. He continued to let his fingers do the talking as he rocked out on the guitar, welcoming Sheila E to sing another track, before jamming with him on the drums.

Later on in his set, Prince treated the packed crowd to his hits 1999 and Little Red Corvette, before stunning fans by pulling off the biggest surprise of the night - a unique cover of Radiohead's Creep, with an added guitar solo and extended falsetto. But the performance didn't end there - Prince engaged the crowd with his own take on The Beatles' Come Together, urging his "choir" of fans to sing along to the chorus for his finale. And just as the audience thought he wouldn't perform his seminal hit Purple Rain, he returned to the stage and reigned supreme with a stunning rendition of the classic track, leaving the crowd screaming for more.

He left the stage again, but came back minutes later for another encore, shouting: "They're telling me that we got to go, but I can't leave!" Prince raced through Let's Go Crazy and then asserted his authority on the festival-goers with the triumphant statement, "From now on, this is Prince's house!" With that, he cast off his guitar and finally strutted off stage, having made his signature symbol-shaped stamp on the Coachella audience.

Has Madonna split from her British hubby Guy Ritchie?

Pop star MADONNA has purchased a New York apartment using her maiden name sparking further fears her marriage to GUY RITCHIE is in trouble. The Holiday hitmaker bought the flat directly above her existing home near Central Park for $ 7 million (£3.5 million) using her maiden name, Ciccone. But celebs do that all the time and change their names in different transactions mostly using their real names!

It is believed the 49-year-old will knock through the building to make a "super duplex" apartment. The couple's marriage came under intense scrutiny last month (10Mar08) when the director failed to show up at New York's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, where his wife was honoured. This was the latest of several events the couple had failed to attend together, prompting scurrilous reports they'd split.

LUPE SYNDROME: Madonna is happy to be a "SUPERSTAR."

MADONNA would never trade the pressures of fame for a life outside superstardom's harsh limelight - because she loves being a celebrity. The pop superstar appeared on U.S. TV's The Today Show on Friday (25Apr08) to discuss her film I Am Because We Are, a documentary following the struggles of children orphaned by AIDS in Malawi - the birthplace of the star's adopted son David Banda.

When asked if she hoped she would one day fade out of the limelight, the Holiday hitmaker told host Ann Curry, "Yeah I have moments of it. But I don't want to wish that I'm not me. I don't wish I was someone else." She added, "My reinventions are part of my evolution and my growth as a person. There are aspects of it that are frivolous and aspects of it that are real". But she hopes "that my soul reached its full potential and that I did everything that I was put on this earth to do". Watch below......
