BREAKING NEWS: RUSSELL BRAND FILES DIVORCE FROM KATY PERRY.

Reuters reports that U.K. actor/comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce on Friday from his singer wife Katy Perry after just over a year of marriage. This news came just a few weeks after Brand vigorously denied rumours the couple was splitting up.

Brand, 36, star of the movie Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshal, andCalifornia Gurls singer Perry, 27, met in 2008 and married on October 23, 2010, becoming one of the most high-profile couples in the entertainment industry.

But their marriage has been in trouble for several weeks, according to celebrity media. They spent the Christmas holidays apart, with Brand being photographed in England and Perry spotted in Hawaii — both without their wedding rings.

Brand filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday citing irreconcilable differences.

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,” Brand said in a statement on Friday.

Lets look at it this way, still beats Kim Kardashian 74 days and even Sinead O'Connor 16 days. They were married for 14 months in an elaborate Indian wedding complete with elephants and all. KJ says she needs to go back running into Travie McCoy's arms. You know Travie's KJ's pal.

BREAKING NEWS: BRUCE AND DIANE DALE, JUSTIN BIEBER'S GRANDPARENTS IN SERIOUS CAR CRASH!

Reuters reported this morning that Justin Bieber is praying for his grandparents' speedy recovery after they were involved in a serious car accident in the early hours on Wednesday.The Baby hitmaker's mum, Pattie Mallette, revealed her parents Bruce and Diane Dale were driving along a road in Canada when their vehicle careered out of control and flipped into a ditch. The crash left Bruce with broken ribs but Diane escaped largely unscathed.

In a post on Twitter.com, Mallette writes, "My parents got into a car accident today. They flipped into a ditch & totaled (sic) the car but thank God they are alive! My dad has broken ribs. Plz (please) pray 4 him 4 quick healing! Count your blessings & forgive ur parents always. U never know what tomorrow holds!!! Bruce and Diane Dale were on a back road in the Township of Perth East. A flash freeze caught Dale, who was driving, off-guard around 1 p.m., said Const. Kees Wijnands, who handles media for the Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County.

“The vehicle rolled in a ditch and hit some shrubbery and small trees. The vehicle ended up back on its wheels but it made a complete roll,” Wijnands said

When I saw Diane and Bruce trending on twitter, I automatically thought of the only ones I knew with that coupled up name. I met Diane and Bruce Dale at the World Premiere of Justin's movie "Never Say Never" on February 1st 2011. They were so warm, I followed them everywhere and enjoyed the whole day with them, Pattie his mom and Justin from the morning press conference to the MuchMusic and E-Talk show and back to the Purple carpet premiere.

Above are some of the pics we took that evening. Bruce is in Justin's movie as it is a documentary of his life and this grandparent reminds me so much of Drake's Uncle Steve who follows him everywhere. When relatives as old as grandparents are that involved in their grandson's career and contributed to their success, it matters to me. So for all the haters in the Toronto Sun comments field, you can shove it!

Get well soon Bruce and Diane. Rest up and we'll be praying for your speedy recovery as the New Year approaches. Bieber's new upcoming album is titled "BELIEVE" so that tells you to never say never. RAPPER YOUNG VITO SURRENDERS TO POLICE FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING RAPPER SLIM DUNKIN.

A man charged with killing an Atlanta rapper at a recording studio has turned himself in to police. WSB-TV reports that Vinson Hardimon, known as rapper Young Vito, surrendered to Atlanta police Monday afternoon.

He was handcuffed and taken to the Fulton County jail. Police say the 28-year-old shot and killed 24-year-old Mario Hamilton, known as rapper Slim Dunkin, on Dec. 16 at an Atlanta recording studio. Detective David Quinn says police still need more information in the case. Quinn says Hardimon's attorney called police and said Hardimon wanted to surrender.

The new album Keyz of Life is a tribute to Anthony "Durty Keyz" Jones, the 23-year-old Toronto producer who passed away just six months before his dream project could be completed. A hip-hop record that celebrates life, the album is uplifting, emotional and vibrant, and was a labour of love for the 30 or so artists involved.

"I couldn't get the words out, I just hit the ground and started crying," says Andrew "Burd" Liburd, 25, Jones's production partner who had spoken with his best friend a day before he succumbed to streptococcus, a rare bacteria infection that killed the budding musician in a matter of days. "There was no way to get my head around it - it didn't make any sense - but it gave me the energy to finally finish the album. There was an outpouring of love, and everybody wanted to get involved."

Some of the top-tier talent involved with the record, available for free at BurdandKeyz. com, include Rich Kidd, one of Drake's production partners; Shi Wisdom, one of Toronto's most up-and-coming new singers; and Kardinal Offishall, the godfather of the urban Canadian music scene.

"I met Burd a few days after Keyz passed, and he was so passionate that I'd do anything I could to keep his spirit up and carry on Keyz's legacy," says Offishall, whose three-minute verse on the album closer The Other Side is one of his strongest rhymes in a storied 15-year rap career. "It was strictly vibes and love - that's what the project was about for me."

This past Friday, a handful of artists involved with the project met at the Lakeview Lunch diner in Toronto to reminisce about Jones. In attendance were Reza Dahya, the popular former FLOW 93.5 DJ who executive produced the album, Wisdom and Redway, a promising 22-year-old MC from Mississauga who raps on the song Say a Prayer.

"I never met Keyz, but through my relationship with Burd I had a mutual love for the guy," says Redway, who then performs his verse from the album in the crowded west-end restaurant, drawing applause. "I'm more of a cool kid, I've never really gone that deep before, but when I heard the hook and, given the subject matter, I decided to try something more emotional and raw."

The album's first single is Love Speak, featuring a beat from Jones and Wisdom, and it's quickly become a hit on urban radio stations across the country despite only being released this past week online. For all of the artists involved, though, the album's success seems to almost be beside the point - the record was simply made to honour a friend.

"You'resupposedtocelebrate a man's life when he passes, and so right from the start Keyz of Life is on the celebration tip," says Dahya, who also produced a video tribute of Jones that played at his funeral. "On the record, there's super highs, lows and really emotional moments: It's a testament to what it's like when you lose a friend."

One of the highlights of the album, along with Offishall's verse and the discovery of Toronto's budding new postDrake talent pool, are the audio snippets of Jones himself. Recorded this past May in Liburd's basement, Jones comes across as funny, humble and dedicated to his twin passions of playing piano and making beats.

"We always talked about someday making that Keyz of Life record, an album that would celebrate the city, make interesting collaborations and be something different, something exciting and something that's dope," Liburd says. "The album ended up being a real tribute to Anthony. It's not fair that we lost him, but it feels good that his legacy, through his music, will live on."

Adam Lambert was arrested in Finland Wednesday night after getting into a brawl with his boyfriend outside a bar, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Reportedly Lambert and his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen, a star of the Finnish version of “Big Brother,” started arguing inside a gay bar in Helsinki, but when they were kicked out of the establishment, they continued arguing in the street.

A woman who was hanging out with Lambert and Koskinen in the bar told a Finnish entertainment channel that when she tried to get between them to break up the fight, Lambert hit her by mistake.When the police arrived, they took both Lambert and Koskinen into custody, and they were questioned and released on Thursday.

Afterwards, Koskinen wrote on his blog, in a comment that was translated from the Finnish by Google Translate, “Publicity is not easy, but also celebrities are just human. MELANIE AMARO WINS X-FACTOR!

She was the favourite and America sure voted her in and nobody was disappointed. Melanie Amaro dazzled audiences at last night's X-factor show winning the $5 million recording contract and a chance to star in her own Pepsi commercial. The show started with the past finalists who did songs and duets then the finalists doing songs. Justin Bieber who was just in Toronto the day before also showed up and performed two Xmas ballads.

Some highlight of the show had 50 Cent performing with a whole lot of censors and former contestant Astro who joined him to perform. There were also the "crying" scores for the female judges which showed Nicole winning and also the part when Chris Rene was eliminated. Did the X-Factor deliver? Yes it did. CTV's E-Talk had a half hour interview with Simon Cowell the other day and we couldn't help but wonder if the X-Factor Canada is in the works.

Twitter never had her last name in the trender. That was kind of strange. I like celebrities full names on there.

From Vibe magazine's Adelle Platon: News that Jay-Z signed X Factor’s wonderboy-rapper, Astro, may be a dated rumor to bloggers but it is definitely news to the 15-year-old rapper.

A fan and judge favorite since his debut performance of Kriss Kross’ “Jump,” Astro’s future has been under speculation after his elimination last Thursday. He was sent home after his live rendition of “Black or White” with an original rap during the Michael Jackson episode. BREAKING UPDATE: RAPPER YOUNG VITO WANTED FOR ALLEGEDLY SHOOTING SLIM DUNKIN WHOSE ELABORATE FUNERAL IS FRIDAY 12/23/11

The AJC reports that the funeral for Slim Dunkin is 11 a.m. at Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain. Burial will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia. Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements, said a wake was held Thursday at its chapel on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in Atlanta.The funeral home said two limos will deliver Slim Dunkin’s family to the church Friday.

According to TMZ, the funeral will be elaborate with a “white horse-drawn carriage, massive white floral arrangements, and a white dove release ceremony.” Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane will pick up the lion’s share of the expenses, TMZ said, with Slim Dunkin’s family paying for the rest of the send-off.

Atlanta police on Thursday said they have identified a suspect in the slaying of rapper Slim Dunkin, and he was urged to turn himself in for his own safety.The suspect was identified as another local rapper, 28-year-old Young Vito, whose real name is Vinson Hardimon, according to a police release."We are urging Mr. Hardimon to turn himself in to authorities because we have reason to believe he may be in danger," the release said.Slim Dunkin, whose real name is Mario Hamilton, was killed Dec. 16 after being gunned down at a southeast Atlanta recording studio.

Atlanta police tell me the death of Bricksquad rapper, Slim Dunkin, started from a fight over candy sold inside the recording studio where the shooting took place. Homicide detective, David Quinn, gave WSB-TV's Crime reporter a detailed account of Mario “Slim Dunkin’” Hamilton’s killing on Friday evening (Dec. 16) in this video below. Above is his last tweet.

All I can say is that this is nuts. Slim Dunkin was like an NBA player and hence his name. At 6'8 it took his attacker a trip outside to go get a gun over an argument about CANDY!!

11.30pm UPDATE: The Atlanta Police have now spoken about this murder. “Now it’s my understanding prior to the video shoot, Mr. Hamilton became involved in a verbal altercation with another individual who we believe produced a handgun, discharged that weapon at least one time, striking Mr. Hamilton in the chest,” Atlanta police Maj. Keith Meadows told Channel 2, WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate. They have not identified the individual and say there was at least 13-20 people in the building at 5.30pm when the shooting happened. This was certainly not the kind of shooting planned for tonight. It was a video shoot not with a GUN!

BREAKING NEWS: CONTINUE PRAYING FOR FORMER DEATHROW MUSIC EXECUTIVE JOHN ATTERBERRY RANDOMLY SHOT AND IN CRITICAL CONDITION BY DISTRAUGHT GUNMAN.

A former Death Row Records vice president, John Atterberry, remains in critical condition at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, one of several victims caught Friday in a Hollywood street rampage conducted by a distraught 26-year-old gunman.

Atterberry was driving his Mercedes coupe when Tyler Brehm started shooting at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood Friday. The gunman hit Atterberry three times in the face and neck. In all, three individuals were injured during the rampage. Chris Godley, a photo editor for the Hollywood Reporter, was grazed in the leg and received minor injuries. According to that publication, Godley was driving his black Toyota pickup truck to work when Brehm started shooting.

The Los Angeles Daily News reported that a third driver suffered cuts from window glass after Brehm discharged his gun into the victim's car. Los Angeles police shot and killed Brehm, who had fired nearly 20 rounds from his .40-caliber handgun. Brehm was distraught after a recent breakup with this longtime girlfriend, police said. Atterberry, a founder of Mergela Records and Consulting, also helped create the music publishing company Infusion Music Group.

Rapper Rick Ross plays Sound Academy, making up for a cancelled November date due to factors including his health. As you know he suffered some seizures earlier in the fall.

A STUTTERING KID NAMED JAKE RAPS FOR DRAKE.

For those of you who like making fun of kids who stutter, hey check this kid out. He made his way to the backstage of Tyga's all ages concert and rapped for fellow Young Money artist Drake in the presence of P.Reign and T-Rexx, Drake's best pals. I actually like the kid and would love to interview him. Young Torontonians doing well in their game is what I'm all about anyway.

His rap name is L'il Jz and I say, Drizzy, sign the kid. That's $ standing in front of you. Jake has also volunteered his talents to help Free the Children, and in October wrote and performed a song for an event in support of the charity, under his stage name Lil JZ. CITY OF TORONTO LAWYERS RUFFLED UP OVER DRAKE'S ALBUM BILLBOARD?

The Toronto Star reports that superstar rapper Drake and his signature owl have ruffled the feathers of the city’s legal eagles. Drake, one of Toronto’s most famous and proud cultural ambassadors, failed to ask permission to use a modified version of the official city logo on a Gardiner Expressway billboard promoting his smash-hit new album, a city spokesperson says.The billboard, located at Dufferin St. and Springhurst Ave., features the word “Toronto” in the distinctive style of the logo.

And in the spot on the logo where the image of City Hall is located, to the left of the “Toronto,” the billboard substitutes the owl emblem of Drake’s personal brand, October’s Very Own.The album’s name, Take Care, and release date, Nov. 15, are below. The very bottom of the billboard, however, reads “Population 2,753,609” in the style of an official welcome-to-town sign.

Can you believe I missed Melanie's Grammy nomination? That concert doesn't list them all. Congrats girl! Fresh off snagging two Grammy nominations for her feature on Cee Lo Green's 'Fool For You,' a track off his 'The Lady Killer' LP,Melanie Fiona is still in shock. The singer-songwriter, who's prepping the 2012 release of her sophomore effort, 'The MF Life,' was surprised at her nods in the Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance categories.

Album has been pushed back to February....just in time for the GRAMMYS! Melanie did such a good job hosting that Soul Train Award. Good Canadian gurl. TOP TORONTO RAPPER MINDBENDER SUPREME RESPOND TO THE TYGA AFTERPARTY

The Toronto Sun carried it on the front of their webpage and so did several blogs. Twitter set it ablaze in these days of real time stuff. So I decided to call the one rapper who's for free speech, expression and "cherishes women." Awesome Toronto Rapper MindBender who told me this after I asked him to watch the video in my presence...

"I have no problem with women having fun and expressing themselves sexually, it becomes unhealthy when they disrespect themselves or others disrespect them. I am more embarrased for the guys in the front row that acted like they have never seen a naked woman before."

LOL...Terry Davidson of the Toronto Sun said the whole stunt never panned.

For his part, Tyga humourously claimed not to remember the incident.“Don’t remember this,” the star tweeted. I hope the girls remember when they fill their next mainstream job application.

This was a total disgrace and to see Toronto young women (these are not ladies) act in such a disgusting manner because of a US rapper? How much did they make getting vodka and liquor poured at them? $320 and what happens next when they are about to get a regular job. The video may come back to haunt them?

Rapper Tyga was so disgusting to have to have turned a concert to this. French Montana, Waka Flocka and other rappers have been to our country and nothing like this. I heard some concert goers left with all the heat, smells of naked women drenched in liquor and more.

UGLY TAMEKA RAYMOND TRYING TO CUT USHER'S JOINT CUSTODY.

Things between Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, are not looking good. The mother of his two kids claims the crooner has failed to follow his legal obligations, when it comes to sharing joint custody of their sons. TMZ reports Tameka has filed documents requesting that a judge no longer allow Usher to have joint physical custody.

In addition, she is seeking more money for child support since there’s allegedly been a “substantial change in [Usher's] income” since they got divorced. Usher, get your kids before that bitch does. By the way, the lady above is just the good nanny when the boys are visiting Papa Usher. We’ll keep you posted.

I have consistently followed this young man in his business pursuits as he has promoted several big concerts in the GTA in the last year including the big P.Reign on in 2010, where he got P.Reign to call KJ to say Happy 10th birthday during the concert break.

Steve is a honest, hard working and enthusiastic young mogul. So as my 47-year-old lady self, I went to party with him and my other sons. Shout out to our Production Intern Kalmplex as always. The party was dope. We had fun at the Courthouse Club on Adelaide last night. Congrats on adding another year Steve!
