ROCK GROUP RADIOHEAD LOSES A MEMBER OF THEIR FAMILY IN THE TORONTO STAGE ACCIDENT.

Investigators combed through the wreckage of a Toronto stage collapse Sunday, trying to determine what caused the structure to come crashing down hours ahead of a Radiohead concert, killing the band's drum technician and injuring three other people.

Radiohead representative Laura Eldeiry confirmed the man killed was Scott Johnson, the drum technician for the British band. Toronto Police spokesman Tony Vella said the British man was in his mid-30s. He was trapped under the rubble and pronounced dead at the scene.

The band released a statement Sunday, saying they were "shattered" by Scott's death.

"We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott's family and all those close to him."

Officials from the Ontario Ministry of Labor searched through the wreckage for clues to the cause of the collapse Saturday in Downsview Park. They were also investigating whether safety regulations and standards were followed and if staff were properly trained.

Ministry spokesman Matt Blajer said the massive structure is "still fairly unstable" and work is under way to make it safe.

He said the investigation is "fairly complex" and it could take some time to figure out exactly what happened.

BREAKING NEWS: BRUCE AND DIANE DALE, JUSTIN BIEBER'S GRANDPARENTS IN SERIOUS CAR CRASH!

Reuters reported this morning that Justin Bieber is praying for his grandparents' speedy recovery after they were involved in a serious car accident in the early hours on Wednesday.The Baby hitmaker's mum, Pattie Mallette, revealed her parents Bruce and Diane Dale were driving along a road in Canada when their vehicle careered out of control and flipped into a ditch. The crash left Bruce with broken ribs but Diane escaped largely unscathed.

In a post on Twitter.com, Mallette writes, "My parents got into a car accident today. They flipped into a ditch & totaled (sic) the car but thank God they are alive! My dad has broken ribs. Plz (please) pray 4 him 4 quick healing! Count your blessings & forgive ur parents always. U never know what tomorrow holds!!! Bruce and Diane Dale were on a back road in the Township of Perth East. A flash freeze caught Dale, who was driving, off-guard around 1 p.m., said Const. Kees Wijnands, who handles media for the Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County.

“The vehicle rolled in a ditch and hit some shrubbery and small trees. The vehicle ended up back on its wheels but it made a complete roll,” Wijnands said

When I saw Diane and Bruce trending on twitter, I automatically thought of the only ones I knew with that coupled up name. I met Diane and Bruce Dale at the World Premiere of Justin's movie "Never Say Never" on February 1st 2011. They were so warm, I followed them everywhere and enjoyed the whole day with them, Pattie his mom and Justin from the morning press conference to the MuchMusic and E-Talk show and back to the Purple carpet premiere.

Above are some of the pics we took that evening. Bruce is in Justin's movie as it is a documentary of his life and this grandparent reminds me so much of Drake's Uncle Steve who follows him everywhere. When relatives as old as grandparents are that involved in their grandson's career and contributed to their success, it matters to me. So for all the haters in the Toronto Sun comments field, you can shove it!

Get well soon Bruce and Diane. Rest up and we'll be praying for your speedy recovery as the New Year approaches. Bieber's new upcoming album is titled "BELIEVE" so that tells you to never say never. MTV News caught up with the teen star Sunday when he landed back in Los Angeles to see what he and his pal were up to."I was just down in Miami," he told us for an interview set to air during"MTV First: Sean Kingston" on Tuesday night. "We were just hanging out at his house, kicking it, driving around Miami and whatnot.

During "MTV First: Sean Kingston," the chart-topping artist will talk about his recovery from the near-fatal accident, which occurred near his home in Miami, and his plans to get back in the recording studio. The special is set to air Tuesday at 7:57 p.m. ET on MTV, then continue for 30 minutes on MTV.com. JIMMY BUFFET BEING TREATED BY SURGEON IN THE AUDIENCE AFTER ACCIDENT.

JIMMY BUFFETT was lucky enough to have a top surgeon in the audience at the show where he was injured in a dramatic stage fall - the doctor rushed to his aid and treated him until paramedics arrived. The veteran singer-songwriter stunned the crowd at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (26Jan11) when he took a nasty tumble during the show finale and plummeted off the stage. Sydney surgeon Gordian Fulde was in the audience and after witnessing the fall, he went straight to help the star. Fulde admits he feared the worst, and was relieved to find the musician had escaped more serious injury.

He says, "It was like everybody was standing, and then I obviously responded... He walked off the stage... He just didn't see the stage ended because there was a gap where the crowd was on the fence, and he just went down and crumbled down in that space and his head hit a metal ledge, and you could hear the thump, and he was deeply unconscious. "He is so lucky, I thought when it happened he would even be a paraplegic or worse. We did all the head scans and neck scans and fortunately there's no damage... Cause that's the worry, you don't know when somebody's unconscious. We've observed him through the night, he hasn't had much sleep so he's very tired, but, we're glad to say that he'll be OK." The 64-year-old Margaritaville singer was treated for a head wound and discharged from hospital on Thursday (27Jan11).

PAUL MCCARTNEY'S EX-WIFE HEATHER MILLS IN SKIING ACCIDENT!

HEATHER MILLS is nursing an injured knee after a skiing accident.Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident in 1993, has been practising her skills on the slope after she was selected for the British Disabled Ski Team last year (10). The star is now taking time out from training after another skier crashed into her earlier this month (Jan11).

In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, Mills writes, "In Austria for the Schladming night race, can't ski though as injured good knee in charity 24-hour ski race when public were let on the race track while skiing 100kph-plus. Should be good to ski again soon."

MARY J BLIGE CAUGHT UP IN AN ACCIDENT LAWSUIT.

Soul singer Mary J. Blige is embroiled in a lawsuit over a 2008 car crash, after one of her associates was allegedly involved in a traffic accident in New York City. Songwriter LaNeah Menzies, who worked with Blige on her track I Can See in Color, was driving a luxury Bentley owned by the singer's Mary Jane Productions company when it collided with a Honda in Manhattan on 9 December 2008. Passenger William Herrera, who was travelling in the Honda, has filed suit over the crash and he's named both Blige's company and Menzies as defendants.

The lawsuit, filed at Queens Supreme Court on Wednesday (09Dec09), does not detail the severity of Herrera's injuries following the incident. Menzies, who is signed to Blige's Universal Music Group imprint Matriarch, also co-wrote Kanye West's hit track Love Lockdown.

BREAKING NEWS: RIVERS CUOMO OF WEEZER HURT IN BUS CRASH!

The lead singer of the rock band Weezer was involved in a bus accident Sunday that left him and another passenger in an upstate New York hospital.

Rivers Cuomo, 40, complained of rib pain and was transferred, along with one other passenger, to St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, New York.

Cuomo's wife, daughter, and a fifth passenger on the bus were uninjured. The bus was traveling from Toronto, Ontario, to Boston, Massachusetts, for a show Monday night at the Agganis Arena at Boston University.

The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, while the bus was traveling eastbound on the New York State Thruway near the city of Amsterdam, according to Sgt. Brian Dollard with the New York State Police.

The driver said the back end of the bus slid on ice, then went into the median and hit some reflective posts before crossing back over the highway, going over the guardrail and landing in a ditch.

It had snowed about two inches overnight, police said. The roads were generally wet Sunday morning, but not covered in snow, Dollard said.

Police said they do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

The vehicle is a 2009 Prevost tour bus registered to Night Train Coach Inc., out of Tennessee.

Update: 12/8/09 Weezer has cancelled the rest of its December tour after the lead singer was injured in a bus crash in New York.

Rivers Cuomo and band assistant Sarah Kim suffered minor injuries when the group's tour bus skidded on ice, struck a guide rail and slid into a ditch Sunday morning.

Cuomo and Kim were hospitalized after the accident in the upstate New York town of Glen. That's about 64 kilometres west of Albany. They were travelling from Toronto to a show in Boston.

Cuomo's condition isn't clear.

A message on the band's website says Weezer is cancelling the rest of its Raditude tour and will try to reschedule those dates.

Calls and emails to publicist Jim Merlis weren't immediately returned Monday.

INJURED JEWEL FACES SPRING IN A WHEELCHAIR!

Singer JEWEL is set to spend the spring in a wheelchair - her dancing injury is so severe she has lost the ability to walk unaided. The Face of Love singer has been forced to withdraw from U.S. TV show Dancing With the Stars after suffering a fractured tibia in both legs during rehearsals. The singer was initially diagnosed with tendinitis, but her injury is much more serious - and now she's hobbling around on crutches and faces weeks in a wheelchair.

She says, "I am on crutches and, if my right leg gets worse, I will be in a wheelchair." Jewel is still devastated about having to sit out of the dance contest, which debuts in America next week She tells In Touch Weekly magazine, "I did my MRI and pulled up my pant leg to get my shot, and the doctor came in and said, 'You are finished, you cannot dance and you cannot walk.'"

Who the hell picks these guys as contestants? Obviously because you dance on concert stages doesn't mean you can do ballroom dancing?

PILOT'S FAMILY DENIES LACK OF TRAINING CAUSED FATAL BARKER/GOLDSTEIN CRASH.

The family of the pilot killed in the plane crash that left TRAVIS BARKER and ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN severely burned and three others dead has shot back at reports his lack of training caused the tragic accident. The estate of pilot James Bland was targetted in a recent suit, filed by the widow of Barker's assistant, Chris Baker, who was killed in the South Carolina crash in September (08).

The lawsuit alleges pilots Bland, 52, and Sarah Lemmon, 31, also killed in the incident, were "poorly trained" and "negligently decided to abort and/or reject takeoff". Bland's younger sister, Laura Martz, 47, tells People.com, "We know the investigation will eventually show they weren't negligent. James took piloting very seriously. If he felt the plane wasn't maintained properly, he would've refused to fly that day.

"Whatever happened on the runway, I'm sure it was beyond (the pilots') control. "James was such a meticulous person, he was the type who wouldn't pay his bills even a day late. He also had total confidence in the abilities of Sarah. "I don't blame them for suing. It was to be expected; that's just the way our society functions. In fact, I'd love to be able to talk to Travis Barker and DJ AM about my brother's final moments.

"This was just a complete tragedy all around, and I just want to know what happened from (Barker and DJ AM's) perspective." Barker filed his own lawsuit last month (Nov08), against companies Clay Lacy Aviation, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Bombardier Inc., Global Exec Aviation and Inter Travel & Services. He did not name Bland's estate in the suit.

Commenting on the investigation, National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson Peter Knudson says, "It's far too early to say who or what is to blame in this crash. We're still in the fact-gathering stage regarding this case."

ROOTS IN BUS CRASH LAST NITE AND WE HEAR LEAD MAN QUESTLOVE WAS BLOGGING IT IN AMBULANCE!

The Roots were involved in a serious tour bus crash en route to Paris last night (November 19).

The Philadelphia band, who were heading to the French capitol to perform at a gig with Kanye West tonight, reportedly came out of the accident with nothing more than minor injuries.

Blogging from the ambulance on the way to the hospital, Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson described what happened.

"In reality the crash was all of about 7 seconds....but to do a 360 on the highway and end up ramped up (the van that crashed into ours was UNDER our double decker bus) in the air....is....well... a frigging miracle."

He added, "Dog we are soooo alive right now."

?uestlove explained that the band suffered injuries resulting in "cuts and neck braces," and that they are incredibly grateful that the accident wasn't more serious. "That was divine intervention. We are so grateful for this outcome," he said.

It is not yet known whether the band will be able to perform at tonight's gig or their forthcoming dates throughout Europe, reports Pitchfork.

ROCK BAND "AGAINST ME" CANCELS UTAH SHOW AFTER BUS SKIDS ON ICE!

Punk group AGAINST ME scrapped a show in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday night (22Oct08) after their tour bus hit a patch of ice on the way to the venue and scattered their equipment all over the freeway. The accident happened early on Wednesday morning on the I-80 in Wyoming - en route to Salt Lake City.

A statement from the band's record label reads, "Thankfully, nobody suffered any injuries; however, the band's gear was thrown from the trailer all over the highway."

That's the best part. Nobody was hurt!

BRAVE DJ AM ATTENDS DEAD PAL'S MEMORIAL SERVICE.

Injured DJ ADAM GOLDSTEIN stunned mourners at pal CHRIS BAKER's memorial service on Monday (29Sep08) by ignoring doctors orders and showing up to pay his respects. Goldstein, aka DJ AM, was a passenger on board the Learjet which crashed in South Carolina on 19 September (08), killing Baker and three others. The DJ was briefly hospitalised with severe burns in Georgia but chose to check out and head back home to California last week.

With his burn and neck injuries covered by bandages, DJ AM attended the service in Los Angeles. Baker was Goldstein's rocker pal Travis Barker's assistant. The drummer was unable to attend the service because he's driving back from South Carolina to L.A. after spending a week in hospital following the plane crash.

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker released from hospital

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is out of the hospital on Monday after spending nine days in a burn center. Barker was in critical condition after surviving a plane crash in South Carolina on Sept 20.

The musician and DJ AM (nee Adam Goldstein) were the only two out of six passengers to survive the crash, though both suffered serious burns. Goldstein was released from the hospital on Friday.

“Travis is in good condition and was discharged this morning,” Beth Frits, a spokesman for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, told People magazine. “He has left Augusta.” There is still no word as to Barker’s expected recovery time.

WHO KNEW THAT TRAVIS BARKER WAS JD'S PARTNER IN THE SO SO DEF CLOTHING LINE?

Music producer JERMAINE DUPRI predicts his friend TRAVIS BARKER will be released from hospital in two weeks. The former Blink-182 drummer and pal Adam 'DJ Am' Goldstein were the only survivors after the Learjet they were passengers on failed to clear the runway in South Carolina last week (19Sep08) and burst into flames. Four passengers died in the crash, including Barker's assistant Chris Baker.

Both men were both hospitalised in a burns unit in Augusta, Georgia, but Goldstein was discharged on Saturday (20Sep08) and returned to Los Angeles. And Dupri expects his friend will also be able to go home soon. He tells People,

"He's doing good, he's gonna be all right. He's just got a lot of healing to do. "He's supposed to send a message out to everybody in a couple of days to let everybody know that he's feeling better. He's definitely feeling the love from everyone. "He's just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him - iPods, computers, everything that he needs. You got to make sure he is comfortable."

Dupri - Barker's partner in the So So Def clothing line - also recalls the moment he learned of the crash. He adds, "I was at home, somebody called me early in the morning. "It was kind of crazy and I didn't really comprehend what had happened."

NAVAIRA RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL AFTER ANOTHER CRASH??

Mexican singer EMILIO NAVAIRA has been released from hospital in Texas following a car accident on Wednesday (24Sep08). The Tejano singer, 46, is believed to have been travelling with his wife Maria in his native city of San Antonio, Texas when a truck turned into his car. The couple was discharged from the city's University Hospital late on Thursday (25Sep08) night.

The accident comes just six months after a bus crash in Houston, Texas which left the star in critical condition. Navaira is still undergoing rehabilitative treatment following the incident in March (08) and is believed to have been on his way home from treatment when the car accident occurred.

RECOVERING "DJ AM" ADAM GOLDSTEIN RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL AND THANKS FANS FOR SUPPORT.

ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN has thanked fans for their support as he recovers from the plane crash that killed four others last weekend (19Sep08). Goldstein and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were the only survivors after the Learjet they were passengers on failed to clear a runway in South Carolina and burst into flames. Four passengers died in the crash, including Barker's assistant Chris Baker.

Goldstein, Nicole Richie's DJ ex, returned to Los Angeles on Saturday (20Sep08), and is currently resting and recovering from severe burns. His representative Jenni Weinman released a statement on Friday (26Sep08), which reads,

"While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends worldwide.
We ask that you continue to respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends."

Barker, who was also badly burned in the crash, is still being treated at hospital in Georgia.

GOD TAKES AWAY AND GIVES: WHY TRAVIS AND DJ AM GOT ON THE PRIVATE JET. VERY SAD!

Travis Barker's assistant Chris Baker who DIED wanted to get home in time for his pregnant wife to give birth.

We've now learned why Barker and his friends decided to get on that doomed Learjet in South Carolina late last night, and the explanation can only be described as a horribly cruel twist of fate.

It all started some time yesterday, when Barker's assistant, Chris Baker, told the guys that his wife was going into labor. Barker told him that he would do everything in his power to get Baker back to the hospital in time.

The quickest way back to Van Nuys was that Learjet. We're told Barker usually won't fly on private jets, but made an exception for what was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of Baker's life.

The plane crashed shortly after midnight, killing four people -- including Chris Baker. Baker's wife went into labor early this morning. Baker has another young child as well.

I can tell you of many instances where a family member died and another was born. My co-worker delivered a baby the same day her teenager was mowed down at a pedestrian crossing by a speeder. Anna Nicole Smith gave birth to Danielle Lynn days after Danny died right there outside her hospital room. God gives---God Takes away! Let us praise him at all times. We can never understand this God we have and why?

BREAKING NEWS: DJ AM AND TRAVIS BARKER SERIOUSLY HURT IN PLANE CRASH THAT LEFT 4 DEAD!!!

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey DJ AM were critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane went off a runway and crashed on a nearby road, she said.

Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were in critical condition at a burn centre in Augusta, Ga., about 120 kilometres southwest of Columbia.

Two other passengers and two crew members died, said the National Transportation Safety Board. Their identities were not immediately available.

Barker and Goldstein, who perform together under the name TRVSDJ-AM, played a free concert in Columbia's college neighbourhood Friday night.

"It's absolutely terrible and tragic," Columbia Mayor Bob Coble said.

A representative for Barker and DJ AM said she had no information the crash.

After Blink 182, Barker went on to form the rock band (+44) - pronounced "plus forty-four." He starred in the MTV reality series "Meet the Barkers" with former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, to whom he was married at the time. The show documented the former couple's lavish wedding and life.

Goldstein at one time was engaged to celebrity Nicole Richie.

BREAKING NEWS: ED ROBERTSON OF THE BARENAKED LADIES WALKS AWAY FROM PLANE CRASH!

A member of the Barenaked Ladies was one of four people who survived a plane crash west of Ottawa on Sunday, according to media reports. Ed Robertson, a singer with the Canadian pop band, is believed to have been the pilot of a Cessna 206 that crashed near Baptiste Lake in Bancroft, Ont., about 225 kilometres west of Ottawa. The band's spokesman reportedly sent an e-mail to media outlets late Sunday, saying that: "Everyone (including Robertson) is fine and that is the important thing." Bancroft OPP say that the plane was attempting to take off from the lake when it lost airspeed and entered a wooded area west of the lake.

All four people on the plane were able to escape uninjured from the wreckage, a police news release said. An investigation by the Transportation Safety Board has been launched into the incident. This is the second time a member of the Barenaked Ladies has made it into the news this summer. On July 11, band frontman Steven Page was charged in New York with possession of a controlled substance. It's alleged that Page was found with cocaine. He has since been released on $10,000 bail and is awaiting his next court appearance

Rapper Trina and NBA player Kenyon Martin were involved in a car accident late last night (July 25) in Belize. Trina and Martin were in the country for a Hip-Hop peace rally and charity basketball game. According to reports, the accident occurred shortly after they arrived at Belize's airport We hear Trina's driver is at fault and some kids were injured severely.
