Dele Odule, President, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), says he is not always comfortable being called `Baba Ijebu’ except when acting roles in movies.
Odule who hails from Oru in Ijebu area of Ogun state told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Tuesday.
The ace actor, fluent in Ijebu dialect on cast, said he loved to be referred to as Dele Odule whenever he was off the screen.
He said that every versatile actor or actress must be able to interpret any script and act any character.
“I do not have a favourite role, but I am always comfortable if it requires me interpreting the character of Dele Odule in movies.
“One will have to study very hard when interpreting another person’s character,’’ he said.
Odule said that there was no role he could not play in a movie because he had stayed long in the industry and understood the rudiment. “I am committed and effective because acting is my source of livelihood. Anything worth doing at all is worth doing well,’’ he said.
