Mel C of the Spice girls checks out the trophies.The 2009 MMVAs, co-hosted by the Jonas Brothers airs live in Canada this Sunday –As the countdown to the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards continues, MuchMusic announced today it has reached multiple broadcast deals to showcase Canada’s biggest street party on five continents and in 22 countries, including the United States.
With the star power of performers that include the Jonas Brothers, Nickelback and Lady Gaga, MuchMusic has secured a deal with the TV Guide Network, available in 82 million U.S. homes, to broadcast the excitement of the 2009 MMVAs throughout America . The MMVAs also goes intercontinental via broadcast deals with MTVNHD (MTV Networks High Definition) and XYZnetworks. The 2009 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS airs live in Canada from the outdoor parking lot at the station’s headquarters in downtown Toronto on Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET. Broadcast dates for MTVNHD and XYZnetworks will be announced late.

Toronto’s own rap sensation Drake and pop divas Girlicious take a trip down the infamous red carpet before they dish out the highly-coveted MMVAs statues. Fans can take in all of the excitement by coming down to MuchMusic HQ or watching live on Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET with the MMVAs 09 RED CARPET SPECIAL at 8 p.m. ET. 
On the brink of rap-world domination, Toronto’s-own Drake (aka DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION alumnus Aubrey Graham) has sprung into hip-hop superstardom under the guidance of Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money. This rhyme magician is bound to get a reception made for rap royalty and take the decibel level up exponentially when he returns home.
Girlicious joins the list of red-hot presenters this Sunday, marking their second MMVAs appearance. Last year, the girls tore up the stage in their stilettos despite the rainy weather, to the extreme delight of their fans.
Another just announced celeb set to saunter down the red carpet is Reggie Bush who accompanies girlfriend and MMVAs presenter Kim Kardashian.

The street party is officially ready to rock as Jermaine Dupri, Tila Tequila, Jayde Nicole Alexandra Richards, and Brittany Flickinger have been added to the 2009 MUCHMUSIC VIDEOS AWARDS red carpet.
Best known as hip hop mogul and founder of So So Def Records, Jermaine Dupri has signed artists including Bow Wow, Da Brat and Juvenile. The singer/producer has also worked with blockbuster acts including Mariah Carey and Usher.
MySpace phenomenon Tila Tequila first caught the eyes of reality TV fans everywhere on MTV’s A SHOT OF LOVE and A DOUBLE SHOT OF LOVE, a dating series that saw the petite model and singer searching for her soulmate.
Canada’s own Jayde Nicole captured Playboy’s 2008 Playmate of the Year title making her the first Canadian Playmate of the Year in 26 years. The Canadian bombshell has also made several appearances on MTV’s THE HILLS.
Model and daughter of legendary The Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards, Alexandra Richards is no stranger to strutting her stuff on red carpets. After competing against 16 women and two men, Brittany Flickinger beat the pack to become Paris Hilton’s new bestie, and Season 1 winner, of PARIS HILTON’S MY NEW BFF.
