He joined Twitter on Wednesday, one day after going to the offices of Facebook, in Palo Alto, Calif., to preview some of his new material.
Videos of him rapping acappella while standing on a conference table have been posted on YouTube. On his website afterward, West posted a letter to Facebook, thanking the staff for their support: "You're energy was a gift so electric, so genuine, that it really helped me give my best."

Edwardson George is a big man. And he’s been able to maintain his stature despite the murder of his son Michael, 25, shot dead July 29, 2007, at Wilcox Creek Pathway co-op near Sheppard Ave. and Morningside Ave.
He says there isn’t a moment of any day he isn’t thinking about his boy.
“Very, very hard for me,” George said Friday during a plea for people who know anything to call Crime Stoppers. “He was not only my son, he was my buddy.
“Michael had two names for me: Dad and Pops,” he said.
When Michael, a rapper who went by the stage name Meyend Tricks and whose album 4 Ever was released by his family during the plea, wanted his father to be a buddy, he called him Pops.
“But when he needed me as a dad, he’d just say, ‘Dad, can I speak to you?’” George said.
“Getting up every day has been very, very difficult,” he said. “I have to make sure the rest of the family is okay.
“It hurts,” George said. “I wake up every day and I’m not myself. I’m not 100% because I don’t have him with me and I cannot speak to him, and I cannot call him when I need to talk to him about certain things that we normally talk about.”
The music was supposed to be the young man’s future, but has instead become his legacy.

When he pulled in at 3:30 a.m., he was ambushed by a gunman who opened fire before he could get out of the car.
Toronto homicide Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan said in 2007 that the assassin apparently lay in wait and the killing didn’t appear random but it was unknown why the young man was targeted.
“I just want the person or persons who perpetrated this crime to be caught,” George said. “They can’t go around doing things like this, hurt so many families, hurt so many people. We want justice, justice for Michael.”
Atlanta R&B artist Tim Campbell also a TIMA nominee came to show support for the George family.

Lil Wayne is set to release a new album in September – despite being incarcerated for gun crime.
The rapper's co-manager Cortez Bryant told Vibe magazine that the album would be named I'm Not A Human Beingand will be out digitally on September 27 – Wayne's birthday.
"We not about to roll out no three month set-up," he said. "I'm not even putting it out in stores. We just going to put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give 'em a hard copy later for fan appreciation."
Bryant said the album would be a prelude to the rapper's forthcoming Tha Carter IV album.

New York City police say they have arrested rapper-actor Ice-T on accusations of driving with a suspended license.
Police say the entertainer was driving a 2009 Cadillac near West 40th Street and 11th Avenue on Tuesday when officers stopped him for not wearing a seat belt. They said they ran a check and discovered his license was suspended.
The NYPD said he would be given a ticket and released.
Ice-T denied wrongdoing via Twitter. He says he has a valid New Jersey license and calls the police's allegations against him a "lie."
The actor has played Detective Fin Tutuola on the TV drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" since 2000.

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber is among the elite group of professionals challenged by Shaquille O’Neal in the new season SHAQ VS, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET beginning August 3 on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). In this six-episode reality competition series, O’Neal takes his athletic prowess beyond the basketball court and at times away from sports altogether as he strives to become a champion at new challenges each week. The series will also air on TSN2.

A representative for pop singer CHRISTINA AGUILERA has dismissed reports she is locked in a bitter feud with record label bosses over disappointing sales of her latest album, Bionic.
Aguilera's fourth studio album debuted at number three on the U.S. Bill board charts, but quickly fell out of the Top 10, with sales barely hittng a disappointing 200,000 in its five weeks of release. Music bosses are in a panic to boost sales as the new mum fights to com pete with racy acts like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, reports the New York Post.
A source tells the publication, "The label has done its part, but she's headstrong. There have been candid conversations between her and the label about connectivity, but it doesn't seem that she's been open to that dialogue." However, a spokesperson from RCA denies the label is at odds with Aguilera, and insists bosses back her efforts, saying, "(Aguilera) is a pillar of the RCA Music Group and is an undeniable talent with one of the great est voices of our time. She continues to push herself as an artist, and we are behind her efforts 100 percent." Aguilera's manager, Irving Azoff, further disputed the claims: "I am the one who deals with the label, and this couldn't be further from the truth."
Lady GaGa has made some enemies lately in the fashion world. The “Poker Face” lady has pretty much enraged models, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell when they found out she'd be joining them in a cover-shoot for i-D magazine.
Apparently they did not find out until recently that they would be joined by GaGa in the September issue. In fact it was pretty much last minute – said sources. The left very angered at the notion that they would be united with the bizarre singer, when they first found out.
Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell had intended on doing a combined shoot together, but the editor decided to throw in Lady GaGa in as well, said sources. They snubbed the idea dramatically enough that it seemed to have impacted the editor to make some changes.
Naomi and Kate implied that they didn't want to have Lady GaGa as a third wheel and declared on having their own theme done so they were all shot individually and not together.
The issue decided to go along and they will now have a separated “pullout” so there will actually be three covers from three independent shoots.
Teen sensation Justin Bieber has knocked Lady Gaga off her reign as holder of the most-viewed video on YouTube.
Bieber, 16, who was discovered on YouTube, racked up more than 246 million views of his music video "Baby" on Friday, pushing Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" into second place with 245.6 million.
The Canadian singer, currently on tour in the United States to promote his hit album "My World 2.0", thanked his fans in a Twitter message, but added that he thinks Lady Gaga is "an incredible artist who (I) have great respect 4. and her vid is incredible.
"So it doesnt matter who has more views what matters is that we have incredible fans that support us...that im sure we are both greatful 4," he continued.

Lady Gaga's concert in St. Louis, Missouri took an ugly turn when fans were bombarded by a group of angry protesters on Saturday night, who showed up to boycott the controversial pop star with violent messages.
Protesters from Westboro Baptist Church stood outside the Scottrade Center to protest the singer's ongoing Monster Ball tour and her outspoken support of gay rights.
The Bad Romance hitmaker took to her blog on social networking website Twitter.com to warn fans before the show, and in a series of posts pleaded with her followers to ignore the protesters' homophobic slurs.
She wrote: “At the risk of drawing attention to a hateful organization, I would like to make my… fans aware of a protest being held outside the (concert) in St. Louis tonight. . . My request to (fans) and public authorites (sic) is to pay these hate criminals no mind. Do not interact with them, or try to fight… Do not respond to any of their provocation. Fans of former DESTINY'S CHILD singer KELLY ROWLAND will have to wait longer to hear her next solo album - the record has been pushed back until later this year (10).Rowland's self-titled debut with Universal/Motown Records was originally due for release on 21 September (10) but the singer needs more time to complete the project.
And she predicts the record will be ready for a mid-autumn release. Rowland confirmed the delay to U.S. radio programme the Big Tigger Morning Show this week (ends18Jul10), saying, "I'm just making sure everything is going to be absolutely perfect... I'm still recording." The album will be Rowland's third solo record since Destiny's Child announced its split in 2005.

Peace FM in Ghana says they were all excited when P-Square, Kojo Antwi and M.I got nominated for the BET 2010 International Act of the Year award, but it is almost embarrassing for the music industry outside of the U.S. that BET did not present the award during the event.
The African music industry is huge, generating millions of dollars annually, but yet at an awards show dedicated to black music, any artist based on the continent is lumped into one category of International Artist.
It is almost disrespectfully to have only one category that Sade, Dizzee Rascal, P-Square, Estelle, K’naan, Kojo Antwi and M-I can be recognized for. As successful, important and meaningful that each of these nominees are, why shouldn’t they be nominated for Best Hip-Hop Artist, Best R’n’B Artist, Best Album of the year, (for example), along side the likes of Drake, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, Trey Songz?
Are they not respected as artists of their own particular genres rather than simply international artists? It is time that African artists, (in particular), start to earn the respect that they deserve on the world stage. Would Jay-Z be nominated for Best International Artist at the MTV Base Africa awards?
UK based rapper, song writer and record producer Dizzee Rascal, who is of Nigerian and Ghanaian descent, won the accolade of Best International Act of the Year. Our congratulations go out to Dizzee who is popular, and respected by many US rappers.
The African music industry is obviously still developing but we hope to be respected at all major global award ceremonies in the near future, as we know it is well deserved. But in the mean time, top African artists also need to support their own award ceremonies.
Police say the Atlanta-based rapper Too Short was arrested after he was allegedly involved in a fight that broke out when security told him he couldn't bring underage girls backstage at a Boise venue.
The 44-year-old performer, whose real name is Todd Shaw, faces three counts of misdemeanor battery. Police were called after reports of a fight.
Three employees at the concert venue Knitting Factory told police they were punched and kicked by Shaw and another man, 38-year-old Michael Walton, who appeared to be Shaw's associate.
Police say Walton, of Modesto, Calif., faces two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Ada County Jail records show Shaw and Walton were arrested early Thursday and have since been released on bond.
Tim Campbell is a rising R&B sensation whose smooth vocals and writing creativity have been blessed for many years. His single off his debut "Silent Tears" album "Beautiful" was a huge hit and has now been nominated for a 2010 Best International/USA artist award in the Toronto Independent Music Awards in Canada which will be presented. on Friday July 23rd 2010. Campbell performed on the Mo'Nique show alongside New Edition's "Heads of State on BET (Black Entertainment TV) and has been featured on several newspapers and radio stations including hometown paper Milwaukee Journal Sentinel during this first album release in 2008. He was also interviewed by 98.3 Jammin FM in Milwaukee and Fox 6 TV was present during his performance at his former Milwaukee High school during Black History month in 2008.
In 2008/2009, "Beautiful" became somewhat of an anti-domestic violence anthem as shortly after it was released, singer Rihanna was battered by her then boyfriend Chris Brown. Campbell then went on a DV tour "Domestic Violence" where portions of the proceeds was donated to women's shelters. He released a statement in 2009 denouncing the act.
Campbell is scheduled to speak about domestic violence and violence in general at a press conference in Toronto, Canada at 11.30am on Friday July 23rd 2010 alongside the family of late Toronto Rapper Michael "Meyend Tricks" George, the winner of the 2007 Best Rap category at the Toronto Independent Music Awards who was gunned down July 2007, a week before the awards while sitting in his car and never lived to pick up the award. George's first and final album will be released to the media at that news conference and Campbell believes it is the right thing to do to support the family when you lose a comrade in the same field. Music mogul KEVIN LILES has been made an honorary citizen of Paris after collecting France's highest civilian honour for his contributions to Parisian culture. The former president of Def Jam Records was the guest of honour at a ceremony in Paris earlier this month (Jul10), where Christophe Girard, the city's vice mayor, presented Liles with the Medaille de la Ville de Paris for helping to spread hip-hop culture to the French capital, reports All HipHop.com.
Liles says, "I am profoundly honoured to receive the Medaille de la Ville de Paris, especially for my role in helping to make hip-hop a mainstream art form globally. "Spreading the message of hip-hop and what it can mean to anyone has long been a personal passion of mine. To be given such a special honour in one of the world's best cities for just that purpose is genuinely overwhelming."
Praising Liles' achievements, Girard adds, "Kevin Liles represents hope and talent, energy and commitment. He never gave up his battle for hip-h op and today hip-hop is a fully recognised art. He is an example for the new generations and now he is my friend and a friend of Paris."

OMG! Look what washed ashore from the Gulf Oil spill! R&B superstar USHER is set to open up about his bitter divorce from ex-wife TAMEKA FOSTER in a new BEHIND THE MUSIC documentary. The Yeah! hitmaker split from the stylist last year (09) and endured a nasty battle over custody of their two young sons. They subsequently settled their differences and their two-year marriage was dissolved in November (09). But Usher will revisit those tumultuous months in a candid interview, detailing the events that led to the breakdown of their union.
The singer will also delve into his past relationship with TLC star Rozanda 'Chilli' Thomas and clear up rumours of infidelity surrounding their split in 2003. And his love life isn't the only heartbreak Usher will tackle on the programme - he will also talk for the first time about reuniting with the father who abandoned him as a child, and the turmoil he faced when his dad , Usher Raymond III, died in 2008. Feuding PINK FLOYD stars DAVID GILMOUR and ROGER WATERS put their differences aside on Saturday (10Jul10) to perform together at a Hoping Foundation awareness benefit in England. The two rockers hit the stage at Kiddington Hall in Oxfordshire, England to the amazement of the 200 guests in attendance. It was the first time the duo had shared a stage since Pink Floyd's Live 8 appearance in 2005.
The former bandmates, who were accompanied by Guy Pratt and Waters' son Harry, among others, played Floyd favourites Wish You Were Here, Comfort ably Numb and Another Brick in the Wall. The event raised over $500,000 for the charity organisation which aids Palestinian kids.
Rapper WAKA FLOCKA FLAME is at the centre of a police investigation in Ohio after a woman alleged she had been assaulted on his tour bus. Cops in Akron boarded the hip-hop star's vehicle on Monday (12Jul10) seeking to question the hip-hop star and his entourage after receiving the complaint from an unidentified female. Lieutenant Rick Edwards says, "We have an upset woman, but nothing has been determined yet." No charges had been filed against Flame or his crew.
Singer CHRISTINA MILIAN has split from producer THE-DREAM less than a year after the couple wed in Las Vegas. The R&B stars eloped in September (09) and Milian announced she was pregnant with her new husband's child weeks later. They exchanged vows for a second time in Rome, Italy in December (09) and welcomed daughter Violet in February (10). But the union wasn't to be and the marriage was over almost as soon as it began - although the couple chose to keep the news under wraps for the sake of their baby girl. Milian and her beau even posed for a U.S. magazine photoshoot in April (10), introducing their newborn tot to the world.
Confirming the break-up, The-Dream's representative tells UsMagazine.com, "Terius 'The-Dream' Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. "The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward." The release of the statement coincides with the publication of photos of the producer on vacation with his assistant, Melissa Santiago.

Celine Dion has announced to the public that she is currently pregnant, with twins! She is only 14 weeks pregnant, but the singer has announced that she is facing some challenges. She feels the effects the most with her energy levels, as she has stated that she feels tired all day long. This may even be due to the special techniques that Celine has used to conceive. IVF (in-vitro fertilization) and acupuncture were used on the star as a means to get pregnant.
However, after six tries, she has had the luck to land twins this time around, even after a tragic miscarriage on her fifth attempt. She has never given up hope on her pregnancy, and although exhausting, she plans on doing whatever it takes to bring these twins into the world.
