AMY WINHOUSE BACK IN THE HOSPITAL!
Just when Amy is looking good, she is back in hospital - the singer has checked into a private medical facility in London after feeling "a bit ill", according to her publicist.The Rehab singer has been admitted to a clinic on London's Harley Street after falling ill with a bout of influenza. It is the same facility where she had a breast augmentation in 2009. She returned to the clinic several times during 2010 due to complications following the procedure, as well as checking in after injuring herself in a drunken fall.Now Winehouse is back under doctors' care after picking up a bug following her recent gigs in Brazil.Photo: Wenn.com

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) will announce this year’s nominees and jointly with CTV reveal the first artists to perform during the live broadcast of THE 2011 JUNO AWARDS on CTV.ETALK co-anchor Tanya Kim hosts the event live from The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, ON . Later that night, ETALK, the #1 source for everything JUNO Awards, will have coverage from the press conference. CKLN Statement on the CRTC's Decision
The Commission's decision to revoke our license is shocking, heart-breaking and, according to CRTC Commissioner Louise Poirier, "unprecedented".
CKLN has been faithfully serving a diverse Toronto audience for more than 27 years. It is a place where anyone can get trained, learn about broadcasting and speak to their community. We have provided a place for new music, new voices and under-represented issues. We have been the Voice of the Underground.
We were not in compliance while CKLN was off-air in 2009 and in intermittent subsequent periods but this was completely unintentional and once the problems were identified, we collectively undertook in good faith to remedy them. We are responsible campus and community broadcasters and the unprecedented decision of the CRTC to revoke our license rather than issue a mandatory order took us and the broadcast community entirely by surprise.
If this decision stands it is a huge loss for Toronto and for community media across the country.
CKLN is holding a general meeting this Monday at 7pm in the Ryerson Student Centre, 55 Gould Street to discuss the situation.

Revocation of licence
In this decision, the Commission revokes, by majority vote, the broadcasting licence for CKLN-FM Toronto, held by CKLN Radio Incorporated, as of 12 February 2011. In reaching this determination, the Commission considered the serious and continuous nature of the licensee’s non-compliance with numerous regulatory obligations, the station’s inability to institute the measures necessary to ensure ongoing compliance, and the lack of confidence on the part of the Commission that such measures could or would be instituted within a reasonable amount of time. The licensee must cease broadcasting on 12 February 2011, by no later than the end of the broadcast day.
A dissenting opinion by Commissioner Louise Poirier is attached to this decision.

CANADIAN ARTIST EXPLOSION: MEET WAFFLES AND BEATZ NEW MUSC: "THE BREAKFAST CLUB."
This is a Canadian hip-hop talent that has been in the making for a while. Waffles&Beatz is a small group consisting of ethnic diversity of East-Indian and African-Canadian descent coming together for the love of Hip-Hop. From Brampton, Ontario these individuals have put out extensive visuals & audio in the form of mix-tapes, music videos, and art canvases to portray their vision. They are in this for the strict passion of good music and art and I believe we at HIPHOSSIP think they do deserve some type of credit for the work they put in.

CANADIAN ARTIST EXPLOSION: MEET DiRTY RADiO, VANCITY'S BEST RAPPER RIGHT NOW.
DiRTY RADiO (aka Farshad Edalat) is a Vancouver-based singer/songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist. Known throughout the Vancity music scene for his vocal and percussion abilities, he has been crafting his sound over the past few years all while writing, producing and remixing for other artists including Sherry St. Germain, Chin Injeti, K-OS, and Kay. 2010 saw the release of his first solo album titled "Debut", a progressive pop experience, infused with hip-hop, rnb and dance influences.
The record was written, recorded, produced in Vancouver's Greenhouse studios by progressive music production team SEX-ED (which he also co-founded). The process of creating the album was well-documented and is available to fans on Youtube through a series of video logs. He is currently enjoying national exposure with his first radio single "MY HEART" featuring Vancouver-artist/producer Sherry St. Germain. The album "Debut" is available digitally from off his website at dirtyradio.ca, as well as on iTunes.

DIDDY TO PLAY A COP ON HAWAII FIVE-0.
Rap mogul SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS is set to head off to the islands for a cameo role in hit TV series HAWAII FIVE-O . The hitmaker will play a tough New York detective seeking personal vengeance in an upcoming episode of the cop show remake, which stars Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan.Diddy's hits will provide the soundtrack to the special episode, according to reports. He'll be able to swap tales about his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez with O'Loughlin, who played J.Lo's love interest in romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan.
J-LO SAYS TWINS SAVED HER MARRIAGE AS SHE DID NOT WANT A 3RD DIVORCE!
Jennifer Lopez has revealed her twins may have saved her marriage to Marc Anthony - because it made her realize that a third divorce was not an option. In a candid new interview with In Touch magazine, the singer/actress confesses she and Anthony weren't always as happy as they seemed before they became parents to Max and Emme. She tells the publication, "The kids made Marc and I stronger... There have been tough times. "Having kids made us both see that there's a bigger picture. We still fight but we know that at the end of the day, we have these amazing children that need us. We promised each other never to go to bed angry." Lopez also credits her kids with helping to bring her out of a depression, sparked by overwork.
The star admits she suffered a "kind of" breakdown on the set of flop 2002 film Enough and didn't fully recover until the twins were born in 2008. She recalls, "I was like, 'I don't want to talk, I don't want to do anything'. My kids saved me." But Lopez suffered a new low 10 days after the babies were born, and turned to her husband to help her through it. She adds, "I couldn't get up fast enough to feed the babies and Marc was helping out a lot, and I was crying and crying, and going, 'Oh, Papi, they're going to know everybody more than me.'"
KAT DELUNA STILL ACCUSES J-LO OF COPYING CLAIMS.
JENNIFER LOPEZ has been accused of stealing ideas for her new ON THE FLOOR music video from a promo by R&B singer KAT DELUNA, just a week after fans pointed out similarities between the two songs. The Jenny From The Block hitmaker debuted her new single last week (18Jan11), and critics have claimed the lyrics and harmonies are similar to DeLuna's track Party O'Clock, which was released in Europe in November (10).Both tracks were worked on by the same music producer, RedOne. are said to mirror DeLuna's in the new clip.Images from Lopez's accompanying video have now emerged online and DeLuna's fans claim there are striking similarities to the Party O'Clock promo. Lopez's costumes and dance moves DeLuna has spoken out about the video furore and accused Lopez of "taking away" her ideas. She tells the New York Daily News, "I've seen this before, where the more established artist tries to take the vision and artistic ideas away from an emerging artist, and assumes no one will notice because of their bigger shadow. Luckily, my loyal fans and the power of the internet have let the 'Kat' out of the bag." But DeLuna insists she won't be taking any action against the superstar, adding, "Business is business."
BRANDY REMOVES THAT OFFENSIVE TATOO.
Singer BRANDY was back in the tattoo parlour this week (begs24Jan11) to modify her "phallic"-looking skin art. The R&B singer had an image of Hindu deity Lord Ganesh inked on the inside of her wrist last month (Dec10) and she showed it off by posting a picture on Twitter.com, prompting fans to point out the elephant-headed god's trunk resembled male genitalia.Brandy agreed to alter the piece and her tattoo artist has now added a floral design over the trunk.The artist, Peter Koskela, tells TMZ.com, "I wanted to fix the offending tip... remove the whole phallic aspect. I told her I'd just swing it upwards." In Hinduism, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as god of wisdom and remover of obstacles.
NEIL YOUNG TO GET JUNO AWARD FOR PHILANTROPY.
Young and his wife, Pegi Young, also founded the Bridge School, an organization and school dedicated to educating children with speech and physical impairments.Two of Young’s three children have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.Young’s latest album, Le Noise, has been certified gold in Canada since its September release and earned three nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards. Toronto rapper Drake will host this year’s Juno Awards broadcast. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday. Previous winners of the Allan Waters award include Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams and Bruce Cockburn.

BRETT MICHAELS TO BE BACK ON HIS FEET WITHIN WEEKS.
Dr. Mansour Assar, who carried out the operation, has now reassured fans the procedure went well and the star will be back on his feet very soon. He says in a statement, "Bret's procedure had excellent results. Because of the successful outcome and Bret's determination, I believe he will be able to return to normal activity within weeks."

MOTLEY CRUE FRONTMAN VINCE NEIL IS IN MORE TROUBLE FOR UNPAID TAXES.
Prison-bound rocker VINCE NEIL has found himself embroiled in more trouble - he allegedly owes over $1 million in unpaid taxes. The Motley Crue frontman, who is due to serve 15 days behind bars next month (Feb11), is being chased by U.S. federal authorities for debts amounting to $1,111,221 according to the Detroit News. Neil and his wife Lia were hit with a $740,171 lien for delinquent federal taxes last April (10), while another $371,050 demand was filed against the couple for income taxes in December (10).On Wednesday (26Jan11), Neil pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, stemming from an arrest in Las Vegas in June (10). He is due to surrender to authorities at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada on 15 February (11), a week after his 50th birthday.
JIMMY BUFFET BEING TREATED BY SURGEON IN THE AUDIENCE AFTER ACCIDENT.
JIMMY BUFFETT was lucky enough to have a top surgeon in the audience at the show where he was injured in a dramatic stage fall - the doctor rushed to his aid and treated him until paramedics arrived. The veteran singer-songwriter stunned the crowd at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (26Jan11) when he took a nasty tumble during the show finale and plummeted off the stage. Sydney surgeon Gordian Fulde was in the audience and after witnessing the fall, he went straight to help the star. Fulde admits he feared the worst, and was relieved to find the musician had escaped more serious injury.
He says, "It was like everybody was standing, and then I obviously responded... He walked off the stage... He just didn't see the stage ended because there was a gap where the crowd was on the fence, and he just went down and crumbled down in that space and his head hit a metal ledge, and you could hear the thump, and he was deeply unconscious. "He is so lucky, I thought when it happened he would even be a paraplegic or worse. We did all the head scans and neck scans and fortunately there's no damage... Cause that's the worry, you don't know when somebody's unconscious. We've observed him through the night, he hasn't had much sleep so he's very tired, but, we're glad to say that he'll be OK." The 64-year-old Margaritaville singer was treated for a head wound and discharged from hospital on Thursday (27Jan11).

MTV STANDS BY TEEN DRAMA "SKINS."
MTV bosses have dismissed speculation they are set to pull controversial teen drama SKINS off-air following protests from a campaign group and the loss of a number of advertisers.The U.S. adaptation of the hit British series premiered in America last week (17Jan11), but the scandalous storylines involving sex and drugs have angered heads of the Parents Television Council, who condemned the show and called for an official investigation.
The controversy has also led to a number of high profile advertisers pulling their promos from the programme's ad breaks, leading to speculation MTV bosses plan to scrap the show after just two episodes on-air. But network bosses are adamant they will continue to broadcast the series, despite the fall out. An MTV spokeswoman tells Reuters, "The show is not cancelled. The next episode is going ahead on Monday." A statement from the network adds, "MTV stands by the US adaptation of Skins and the vision of its creator, Bryan Elsley."

HEATHER MILLS is nursing an injured knee after a skiing accident.Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident in 1993, has been practising her skills on the slope after she was selected for the British Disabled Ski Team last year (10). The star is now taking time out from training after another skier crashed into her earlier this month (Jan11).In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, Mills writes, "In Austria for the Schladming night race, can't ski though as injured good knee in charity 24-hour ski race when public were let on the race track while skiing 100kph-plus. Should be good to ski again soon."

OASIS' LIAM GALLAGHER TELLS US TO FOCK OFF AND CALLS US LITTLE CUNTS!
Liam Gallagher has vowed never to rejoin his brother Noel for an Oasis reunion - and has told fans of the defunct band to "get over it".The Wonderwall hitmakers split in 2009 after a series of bust-ups between guitarist Noel and his singing sibling culminated in a showdown backstage at a gig in Paris, France.Liam went on to form new group Beady Eye with his remaining Oasis bandmates - and he's now ruled out ever returning to his roots for a reunion, despite former mentor Alan McGee's insistence the Britpop band will reform.He tells Mojo magazine, "(McGee is) wrong isn't he? And a couple of little c**ts moaning on the f**king internet going, 'Oh it isn't f**king Oasis,' aren't going to bother me. They're going to make themselves f**king sick if they don't get over it."It's like wanting your girlfriend back after she's f**ked you off. You'll end up getting yourself ill. They're not going to get me knocking on someone's door saying, 'Come on let's get back together'. It's done, mate. We had a great time. Beady Eye is where we are now... Get rid of all the Oasis songs and just bathe ourselves in Beady Eye."
But the British singer admits he might be forced to perform some of his songs from his days in Oasis if fans at his upcoming Beady Eye concerts don't like his new tracks.He adds, "The way we see it is that we're Beady Eye and I think it's time for people to get acquainted with us. But somewhere down the line if it goes pear-shaped and we have to play Oasis, I definitely won't be playing Noel's songs, I'll be playing my own."
