The Global anti-gun/anti-violence activist launches twitter hashtag on the deadly week of violence in Nigeria claiming up to 45 students in several locations. Outraged at the stories, wants Nigerians to be part of the solution with Nigerian Police.

I launched a nationwide campaign to make Nigerians aware of any form of violence around them and begin to communicate about it. I am asking for calm and not retaliation and anxiety. Once school fees goes up, students go on a rampage, when student union elections happen, there is now gunfire. This all has to stop. DRAKE'S CHICAGO CONCERT ENDS WITH ONE MAN SHOT!

Toronto Rapper Drake, who has slowly risen to fame due to his affiliation with Lil Wayne, is causing havoc on the road. Well, at least, in Chicago.

He recently experienced the violence sometimes associated with hip-hop, when a man was reportedly shot Saturday morning (May 16) following his concert in the Windy City.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a 21-year-old man was shot in the buttocks at around 4 a.m., outside the House of Blugs, where more than 1,000 people attended the rapper's concert.

The unidentified victim, who has been listed in stable condition, is said to have gotten into an altercation with a man who displayed a handgun, shot the victim and fled the scene.

Local police say the assailant has not been caught. It is not known if the two men had attended the concert. Police are holding that info while an investigation is underway.

The shooting was one of 18 in Chicago over the weekend, which resulted in five deaths and 13 injuries.

Drake reportedly hit the state at around 3:00 a.m., performing for around 45 minutes during which multiple fights broke out within the crowd.

STABBING BRINGS WEBBIE GIG TO ABRUPT END!

Rapper WEBBIE's concert in Florida over the weekend (28Dec08) was marred by violence - leaving one person in hospital suffering from stab wounds. The hip-hop star performed in Boca Raton hotspot Club Pulse in Florida on Thursday (27Nov08), where around 700 fans had gathered to watch the MC in concert. But the event came to an abrupt end in the early hours of Friday (28Nov08) when police were called to the scene after reports of gunshots being fired just outside the venue.

One man was found with knife wounds and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No one was found shot and no other injuries have been reported. It's not the first time Webbie's gigs have been linked to trouble - last month (24Nov08), a woman was left in a critical condition after being fatally shot in the head as she left the rapper's gig in Thibodaux, Los Angeles.

The AFP is reporting that three people were injured in ugly scenes at a British music awards ceremony, with one person seriously hurt, police said Sunday.

Two others sustained minor injuries at the sixth annual Urban Music Awards at the O2 entertainment complex in southeast London on Saturday night. One person has been arrested.

"We were called at 2211 GMT on the 15th to a disturbance at the O2 Arena site," a spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police told AFP.

"We found three men suffering injuries. Two are not serious injuries, the other one is. They appeared to be stab or slash victims. There has been one arrest."

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said the three casualties had been treated at the scene and taken to hospitals.

Police sources indicated that the most serious casualty may have been stabbed and the other two might have been hit by flying glass.

The show was being held in the indigO2, a 2,350-capacity venue inside the O2 former Millennium Dome landmark.

Leona Lewis, Dizzee Rascal, Duffy and Estelle were among the performers nominated for awards.

Soul singer Mica Paris was to be presented with a lifetime achievement award.

Andre Nevling, 24, said a woman sat at the same table as himself was "covered" in blood.

"Obviously the guy who got stabbed must have run straight past her and she's pretty shaken up," he said.

"I saw blood all over the floor and then I was like, 'Jesus you're covered in it'," he said.

Another eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I didn't see what happened but there were champagne bottles flying and I hid under the table."

Natalie Williams, 32, said: "It's a huge shame that a small group of people have ruined everything for everyone."

RICK ROSS DAY DISRUPTED BY SHOOTING!

A charity event launched by rapper RICK ROSS in his native Miami, Florida ended in violence on Wednesday (06Aug08), when gunshots were fired as the star hit the stage. The Second Annual Rick Ross Be Out Day, which aims to provide local children with essential back-to-school items, descended into chaos just moments after the Hustlin' star and his Poe Boy Entertainment crew came out to perform at Carol City Park.

A source says, "He was giving back to the community when this happened. Rick and the whole Poe Boy team got on stage and that's when someone in the crowd started shooting." The event had been trouble-free up until that point, reports AllHipHop.com. It is currently unknown whether there were any injuries. Police have arrested one man over the incident, while another assailant remains at large.
