Hip-hop star LIL WAYNE is to release a documentary charting his rise to fame. The Lollipop hitmaker has filmed The Nino Brown Story, which chronicles his life so far and promises to give fans a never-before-seen glimpse into the star's private life. The title for the film comes from the 1991 classic film New Jack City - a reference to the building owned by Nino Brown, the character played by Wesley Snipes. The documentary will feature appearances from stars including Kanye West and Jay-Z.
L'il Wayne is the first musical guest of the season. I hope he can bring out T-Pain again. Olympian Michael Phelps hosts.

A senior production person reveals all the details to the NY Post, saying: That's what you have to endure when you're dealing with the Best Rapper Alive!"When Lil' Wayne showed up to perform in the show - and he showed up on time - he was carrying a bag and refused, point blank, to go through security. Everyone else - including Rihanna, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Kid Rock - went through security, and we couldn't make an exception. He's obviously not a Boy Scout and has a history with drugs and guns.
But he wouldn't budge and refused to have his bag searched or have a security wand passed over him. Then he started getting abusive: 'I don't need your [bleeping] show - I'm leaving if you make me do this.' So he had to leave, I mean, who knows what was in that bag?
He got back in the car we'd paid for and drove off. Minutes later, we got frantic calls from his management and record label begging us to have him back. We said, 'OK, we have an opening at 7 p.m.' The next thing you know, Wayne's people are saying, 'Can we do a bit later. He's not going to be ready.'
We had a crew of 250 people waiting for him . . . Then he calls at, like, 9:30 and says, 'I'm five blocks away,' which is like 500 blocks away in New York traffic, so we just pulled the plug. It was just so disrespectful to the crew and to the 5,000 audience members. Unbelievable."
L'il Wayne did a bad ass show with T-Pain starting with Leona Lewis and another one with Kid Rock. Weezy's "Lollipop" won for best hip-hop video. Something that surprised me was that he didn't say any tributes to his friend and producer who co-made the video, the late Static Major. After seeing him performing with Kid Rock, who would have thought of hip-hop rock? Hear his acceptance speech of this picture beow."When 50 called me a whore, it boosted my career! Rapper LIL WAYNE has scored a third non-successive week at the top of the U.S. album charts. Tha Carter III debuted at number one with over one million sales last month (Jun08) but the album was toppled by Coldplay's Viva La Vida, which spent a week on top. Lil Wayne rebounded to the top spot last week (09Jul08). Viva La Vida and the soundtrack to Jonas Brothers movie Camp Rock are unmoved at two and three on the new Billboard countdown. Beck claims the highest debut on the chart - his Modern Guilt enters at four - and Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus completes the new top five.The A-Milli syndrome continues!
“Lollipop” star Lil Wayne will debut his own brand of champagne this Fall. He has developed four variations of his new Halo bubbly: Halo Brut, Halo Brut Vintage, Halo Rose and Halo Pinnacle.
“Champagne is for celebrating,” Lil’ Wayne said in a statement Tuesday. “I’m ready to put my foot in a new door. There are so many different business opportunities; I want to take advantage of it all.” Go Weezster!
Meanwhile all the commotion with the no shows at his Canada tour this weekend. He was a no show at the Circa Club in Toronto where I spoke to a club spokesperson minutes ago. She told me that they are in the process of issuing refunds to cash and Ticket Master customers promptly and the reason given was "unforseen circumstances." Unlike the Montreal club where Weezy did not show up, we now hear that many are not getting their money back and some paid as high as $1500 for a VIP table for three! Meanwhile read the story about the scam promoter who sold $45,000 worth of tickets for a L'il Wayne gig and ran away with the money and obviously Weezy was a no show. The club was scammed elaborately. Hope this guy hasn't crossed the borders to Canada!! They are LOOKING FOR HIM in AMERICA!!
An e-mail I read wrote....."On June the 29th, I went to a club named Tribe Hyperclub, Lil’ Wayne was to perform and host the event. The tickets the first day were 20$ and it went up every day some people I know even paid 150$. Me and my girls grabbed a table upstairs for 1500$. The club was packed everybody was all dressed up, but Lil’ Wayne never showed up. Today when I went on your page I saw that Lil’ Wayne performed in South Florida over the weekend. I think this was a scam I don’t even know if Lil’ Wayne was really coming, apparently one of the reasons he did not make it was because he was and I quote “too f*cked up”. Throughout the whole night we heard bouncers saying that Weezy was stuck at the border and another one said he was on the plane. I want to sue the organizers on the ground of false advertising since they never delivered what they had told us."
