Everyone came out to Rocko's birthday on 12/28/08 last nite in Atlanta, USA. I spoke to Monica over the weekend on this Facebook status she had on 12/27/08. She is now labeled as "MARRIED" So many people and fans came out congratulating her and I asked her if it was safe to post her on Hiphossip as "married." Now Sandra is referring to her as "engaged" on her blog. Sandra and Monica are close pals too and I will have to really dig into this by calling everyone again after the holidays. I'm going on hibernation tommorow.

Since TIP's arrest, that praying at the Easter service sure is working sister. That boy is so successful now. Jail or no jail, he will survive and has learned his lesson.

Hip-hop star M.I.A. believes her late grandmother brought her and fiance BENJAMIN BREWER together from beyond the grave - because she liked to knock back his family's liquor.

Brewer is the heir to the Seagram's beverage fortune, and M.I.A. admits her grandma was fond of the brand's Martell cognac. She says, "She was, after all, Seagram's number one customer." M.I.A., real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, is expecting Brewer's baby in February (09).

TROUBLED FORMER SOUL TRAIN HOST DON CORNELIUS TOLD TO HAND OVER HIS GUNS.

A judge has demanded American TV presenter/producer DON CORNELIUS turn over his firearms after slapping him with a protective order days after he was charged with spousal abuse. Cornelius was additionally charged with dissuading a witness from filing a police report and assault with a deadly weapon on Friday (14Nov08), following a dispute with his wife.

The 72-year-old former host and creator of muisc TV hit Soul Train was arrested in October (08) after cops were called to the Hollywood Hills home he shares with his wife Victoria. The Los Angeles City Attorney charged him with five misdemeanour offences, including three counts of abusing Victoria.

The couple's correspondence has been limited to "peaceful contact" in the new court order. Cornelius faces five years in prison if convicted. He is scheduled to return to court on 4 December (08).

COLE'S MUM LAUNCHES GOSPEL CAREER AND LABEL.

R&B star KEYSHIA COLE's mother is set to challenge her adopted daughter for airplay after recording an album of gospel songs. Yvonne Cole will release her debut album in February (09). She says, "I'm already a minister and I like spreading the gospel anyway. And I love singing."

Keyshia's mother is also setting up her own record label, C&W Records, after family members told her she would make the perfect executive. She adds, "I'm like, 'Why did I wait 'til I get up in age to do something?'"

KANYE WEST'S "HEY MAMA" WAS THE LAST SONG HIS MOTHER HEARD.

KANYE WEST's song HEY MAMA was the last tune the rapper's mother heard before she died from cosmetic surgery complications last year (Nov07), according to her own mother. Concerns for her daughter's wellbeing prompted Jean Roberson to rush to Donda West's bedside after the professor failed to regain consciousness after eight hours of surgery.

To wake her, Roberson took out her cell phone and played the version of West's Hey Mama she had downloaded as a ringtone. In an exclusive interview with U.S. TV news show Access Hollywood, Roberson says, "I put the phone to her ear and said, 'Donda, listen... "Wake up, listen. Kanye's singing to you.'" The patient eventually did come round and was wheeled out of surgery in "an executive chair". Donda West died the following evening.

How sad! Did you see that interview? It was so sad to even know her own mom is still alive. It will be a year on November 11th 2008.

I know the Scrappy family very well. Mama Dee raised those kids in the hardest times struggling to feed her boy and girl as she told me in a 2005 interview in Atlanta. Dee's a damn good mother and Scrappy did like he said "what any brother will do."

KANYE WEST didn't want his mother to go through the cosmetic surgery procedure which killed her, according to his aunt. Yolanda West admits her rapper nephew was reluctant for his mother to have the tummy tuck in November (07), but decided to support her wishes.

His aunt says.......

"There were some moments when she dieted, some moments when she'd lose the weight, but you know how we do, we pick that weight back up and she finally got to a point where she just wanted to get it done and completely be done with the dieting."It was a quick fix for her to where the dieting just wasn't working. Did Kanye want it done? No. But he's a mama's boy and what mum wanted was what he wanted to make sure she had. And now he's got no mum."

ANDRE, HIPHOSSIP APOLOGIZES FOR THIS ERROR.

Below is Andre Young Jr who died of unknown causes. The other day, I reported the story below about the death of Dr Dre (Producer Andre Young's son) that died. I got an e-mail and photo from Dre about the mistake the story had been written around the web. Now Andre has 2 sons about the same age from two different moms and the photo that went out was from a credible website was the one below in the old story. That is Curtis Young aka Hood Surgeon. Hes' alive and well.

Unfortunately that was the WRONG SON!!! Dre has different sons from different mothers and they get confused as to which one is Nicole's etc.... Above is Andre Jr, the one that died of still unknown causes. The other one in the story error below is seen acting as pall bearer with Dre himself in this funeral photo my source sent me. I apologize for any inconvenience, error and miscommunication Dre. Our thoughts and prayer still go out to your entire family and wishing you good luck on the upcoming album...........Also good luck to Hood Surgeon on his new album October 1st. R.I.P Andre Jr. We hope we never have to bury our children as you can see Dre carrying the casket. That is a STRONG father!

Mourning rapper DR. DRE has laid to rest his son a week after the 20-year-old's untimely death. More than 200 mourners turned out to pay their last respects to Andre Young, Jr. at his funeral, held at The Church of the Recessional in Glendale, California on Friday (29Aug08), reports TMZ.com.

The body of Young was found at his Woodland Hills, Los Angeles home last week (23Aug08). An autopsy on Monday (25Aug08) failed to establish a cause of death and medical examiners are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

I met Dre in 1997 in Baltimore at a radio station and still have that biz card he gave me. Nice guy! Rest in Peace Andre Jr. Our thoughts and prayers go to Dre and his family.

Ga. judge tells Rapper T.I. to pay more child support.

"A judge on Tuesday ordered rapper T.I. to pay more child support to the mother of two of his children after she claimed he wasn’t providing enough money. Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane told the two-time Grammy winner, whose real name is Clifford Harris, to pay just over $3,000 a month to LaShon Dixon. He had been paying about $2,000 per month. The judge also said the 27-year-old performer must continue to pay for the boys to attend private school, uninsured medical bills and expenses related to the children’s extracurricular activities.

Tipton Lane also awarded the couple on Tuesday joint custody of the boys, ages 7 and 8. Dixon, 28, was granted primary physical custody. The children previously spent about 40 percent of their time with the rapper. Dixon’s attorney, Randy Kessler, said his client is still unsatisfied with the amount the judge ordered T.I. to pay but is happy to receive more child support. “Every little bit helps,” Kessler said. “She was just getting by with the children, while they lived a different life with their father. It can’t be complete opposites on the other side.”

It reminds me of this picture at an Easter service in Atlanta and of me and my son Eni at the DJ Stylus awards in Toronto this past summer.

NE-YO'S ALBUM WAS INSPIRED BY HIS DEAREST MOM!

R&B singer NE-YO's new album was inspired by the most important woman in his life - his mother. The So Sick hitmaker - real name Shaffer Smith - insists role models including Prince were a huge influence on him when he was growing up. But he is adamant the biggest driving force he ever had was his mum - and says she is exactly the sort of woman he wants to marry. And he even wrote the song Miss Independent, on his upcoming album Year of the Gentleman, about her.

T.I SUED FOR CHILD SUPPORT??

The mother of two of T.I.’s children has sued the platinum-selling rapper for child support, saying she is having a hard time supporting the boys and now wants a court-ordered arrangement for payment. Lashon Dixon and T.I. have known each other since they were teenagers and dated before he reached megastar status.

They have two sons together, ages 7 and 8. Dixon says T.I. currently gives her about $2,000 a month to care for the boys, but now she wants to schedule a more stable stipend that is commensurate with his success. Both parties appeared in Fulton County Superior Court on Thursday.

The two cuties in question are the ones in front of Clifford in the family Easter picture. The youngest girl in the pic is also T.I's. Clifford is a gentleman and he loves his kids. I guarantee you he will resolve this shyt quickly. He doesn't need any drama revolving around the kids especially all these baby mamas going to the Atlanta media these days.

I come down there to teach people about leukemia and help benefit and try to help save lives and try to find a donor for my sister. Yet unstill, instead of doing that and help and teaching our community about a bigger issue as far as healthcare, you want to have a three hour conversation about a f-king video. Now, where are our priorities in it? Why didn't you take that same three hours and educate brothers and sisters up on leukemia and what I came down there for? Now the same fight you are fighting in 2005, are you fighting that today? Because I don't have my sister today! No, I don't have her today! But are fighting that same battle?"

A leukemia patient in dire need of a bone marrow transplant reportedly has found a donor after Grammy-winning singer Rihanna publicized her case. Rihanna is the in-star and she can also get more albums sold too. I really commend her humanitarian work but is it all the time a celebrity helps in getting a bone marrow donor for a desperate patient?

A certain friend of mine died in the quest for looking for the right marrow for years, yet her brother was the celebrity who was championing her cause! The venues.......imagine ordinary venues would not even let him use their spot to get blacks and other minorities to come out and donate blood. Other blacks prevented him from using their spot. Now Rihanna helps a white woman get a donor in less than 2 weeks. Does that send a race message on how we blacks sometimes don't focus on the right things?

Nelly was disrespectful to women in his tip drill video.......yadadadayada, so they didn't want him on their campus! To you ladies of Spelman College in Atlanta, Jackie was even one of you. She even attended there as a current student before her illness got worse. I was in the process of securing a huge Atlanta megachurch to volunteer their premises for a donation day when Jackie passed away. Rapper THE GAME has dedicated his final album, LAX, to his late cousin SHANNON JOHNSON. Calling her "the greatest soldier my family has ever known", the rap star pays tribute to his relative in the liner notes of the new album, beneath a photograph of Johnson. He writes, "Your life and untimely demise will never be forgotten... SEE YOU AT THE CROSSROADS BEAUTIFUL. DAMN I MISS YOU." He makes no reference to how Johnson died.

The Game's feelings about his late cousin were on show at her funeral in July (08), when the rapper showed up unannounced and fought with the deceased's brother outside the church in Hawthorne, California. The rapper, real name Jayceon Taylor, has been charged with criminal battery following the incident. Speaking shortly after the incident, The Game admitted he felt like his extended family members were using emotional blackmail to get him to pay for all of the funeral expenses.
